Chapter 1018: Chapter 443: An Unfinished Triumph

”Duke!” Count Kuileu Antelme shouted urgently at the sight: ”Behind you!”

”...” Francois had already felt the cold wind behind him, but he didn’t have time to turn around.

At that moment, a thunderous boom ripped through the sky, and a bolt of lightning struck Guer.

A golden Griffin glided down from the sky, and Laine finally appeared.

Upon sensing the Power of Chaos, Laine immediately directed the Empress to head this way, but a Griffin and walking lightning made too conspicuous a target. The entire battlefield saw his intent to assist Francois, prompting Kemler to order the swarm of Bloodthirsty Celestial Ghosts to stop him. Laine even resorted to trading injuries and commanded the Empress to forcibly break through the Celestial Ghosts to reach here.

The Undead Chaos Four Gods Champion was enveloped in lightning, yet he didn’t halt his actions.

”Spiritual Light Spear!” Following the lightning was a two-meter long Spiritual Light Spear, which exploded in the air and turned into a destructive rain of light.

Guer’s movements finally paused, retreating a step under the destructive rain of light.

Due to Laine’s interference, his attack couldn’t deliver the fatal blow to Francois as Kemler planned—an axe to the soul. The giant axe with black serrations struck the rump of Francois’s mount, causing the warhorse to let out a painful scream and gradually lose control.

”...” Francois desperately gripped the reins, trying to control his beloved mount, but the Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse instinctively bolted in pain, severely impairing the Duke’s movements. The expected blade to split Kemler’s head in half landed on his shoulder instead.

”Ugh!!!” The Undead Grand Mage cried out in pain, clutching his shoulder and retreating frantically, issuing commands to Guer: ”Kill him, kill him, kill him, kill him ahhhhh!!!”

At this moment, the surrounding Undead Chaos Chosen Warriors finally returned to defend, protecting Kemler behind them. Wielding long halberds and heavy weapons, they forced back Kalad and Antelme who had charged into the command post with Francois.

”Damn it!” Francois couldn’t control his warhorse at all. The pure-blooded Elf Warhorse, mad with pain, shrieked and galloped recklessly toward the Ancient Tomb Legion’s banner.

Turning his head, Kemler was already protected by the Undead Chaos Chosen Warriors, making another breakthrough impossible. Francois roared with anger, slicing the Desolate Tomb Guard protecting the Ancient Tomb Legion’s banner in two, then flipped his sword, cutting down the banner of the Ancient Tomb Legion.

Then, Laine’s usually elegant and wise father-in-law bellowed like a villain: ”Kemler! Just you wait! In the name of the Lady, I swear, I will return to sever your head, undoubtedly!”

”Uh-huh-huh! I’ll be waiting for you, Francois!” Kemler, hardly standing under his guards’ protection, released his grip on his shoulder. The deep, fifteen-centimeter wound and black blood nearly drove the Undead Grand Mage mad: ”Guer! Slaughter him!”

”At your command, my master!” The Champion of the Four Chaos Gods nodded, immediately rushing toward Francois.

”Damn!” Missing such a great opportunity, Francois could only dismount his warhorse, preparing to face Guer head-on.

”I’m coming too!” Laine descended from the sky, bearing numerous injuries with the Griffin Empress also heavily wounded. It screeched, gliding toward Brittania’s army formation, crashing down, rolling a few times, and remained still.

Francois only now noticed the chunks of Celestial Ghost flesh on Laine. He tightly gripped his Unicorn Sword: ”Is your Griffin alright?”

”It will surely fly again.” Laine, bloodied from head to toe, gripped his Warhammer tightly.

Guer appeared before the two men.

”Good, let’s face the enemy as father-in-law and son-in-law!” Francois didn’t express thanks because it wasn’t needed.

”Prepare yourself, mortals.” Guer uttered few words, instantly engaging in battle with Laine and Francois, wielding his black giant axe with sweeping might, holding his own against the joint attack of two Holy Sanctuary Grand Knights without losing ground!

The black giant axe first blocked Francois’s Unicorn Sword, as the Duke of Winford shouted: ”For the Lady!”

”For the Lady!” Laine’s Mjolnir slammed directly onto Guer’s shoulder armor, the Lake Fairy Chosen Champion’s attack was strong enough to shatter any heavy armor and reduce it to pulp.

”...Heh-heh~” Guer seemed entirely unaffected, the blood-red Barosh Armor emitted a crisp sound under Laine’s heavy blow, as the Champion of the Four Chaos Gods swung his battle axe.

Francois immediately retreated to dodge, while Laine faced him head-on, his Warhammer clashing with the black giant axe, sparks flying as Guer unleashed his roar. He appeared unaffected by the clash, disregarding physical force and swinging his giant axe once more.

The trio battled in a chaotic melee, all undead near Guer, Laine, and Francois’s battlefield shattered by the war’s aftershocks.

Guer’s power was astounding, no lesser and perhaps even stronger than ”Red Eye” Egil from before. This undying undead Warriors faced Laine and Francois’s assault without losing ground, allowing him to attack back frequently. He seemed unaffected by any injury, perpetually battling the duo at full strength. His giant axe blocked both Laine’s Mjolnir and Francois’s Unicorn Sword, preventing them from making any progress.
