On the right wing, Mathew Bade led his undead knights in a steel collision against the large group of knights led by Antelme. Both sides suffered the loss of thousands of knights, and yet the outcome of the battle remained obscure. Under the fierce clash, both sides had the potential to emerge victorious, or possibly face an instant rout.

The duel between Mathew Bade and Antelme ended with Mathew Bade having the advantage. The Holy Grail Knight, Antelme, was pierced in the abdomen by a cavalry lance, severely injured, and had to retreat. However, Brittania is not undead, green skin or chaos. Through thousands of years of warfare, knights have long established a series of military regulations. Whenever a general dies or gets injured, the knight with the highest comprehensive status in the army would immediately assume command.

The command of the right wing knight army swiftly transferred from Antelme to Kaled! This powerful expedition knight utilized a textbook countercharge to not only repel Mathew Bade and his blood knights but also left a sword mark on Mathew Bade’s chest armor!

This expedition knight turned out to be stronger than Antelme, who was a Holy Grail Knight!

After being repelled, Mathew Bade, clutching his chest and shoulder, looked at the countless flesh and blood ground by the iron millstone before him and began to calculate his gains and losses.

He had finally summoned so many undead knights from the pit of corpses of the Duke of Atuo’ Clan. If he continued to invest these precious forces into this battlefield, which was like a bottomless pit, wasting them in this quagmire of war, Mathew Bade was a hundredfold unwilling in his heart. He thought even if this battle was won, the Staff of Nagash might fall into the hands of Kemler, which was not what Mathew Bade wanted to see.

At this time, a roaring sound resembling a landslide and tsunami came from afar. On the hillside at the side of the battlefield, Duke Theodoric was leading over two hundred knights charging down from the hill. The knights of the Borelion Duchy shouted and proudly held their lances high, galloping toward the enemy, the thundering of their hooves shaking the earth.

”Damn it!” Mathew Bade noticed the arrival of Duke Theodoric. He was about to turn his head to look for any reinforcements to assist his battle, yet the scene in the distance left him stunned.

Guer had lost; even the Champion of the Four Chaos Gods was no match for Laine. Now, the undead army led by Guer had been wiped out, and Laine and his mixed army were on their way to support.

”Traitor to Chaos! Scum of the undead! The alliance is over! Retreat! Retreat!” Mathew Bade shouted angrily, immediately issuing a retreat order. He left all the infantry behind to engage the knights at all costs and turned his head to flee.

On the central army battlefield, Brittania’s defending forces had gradually fallen into utter disadvantage. Francois had personally joined the battlefield, and even so, the peasant infantry corps and walking knights were suffering catastrophic casualties amid the bloody battle. The desolate tomb guards penetrated deep into the formation, wielding heavy weapons and long halberds in search of their enemies. These terrifying undead creatures could slice the fragile peasant infantry into bloody pieces with just a few movements, turning the central zone into a slaughterhouse of flesh and blood. The peasant archers had to face the onslaught of the undead legion head-on, their fate being shredded into pieces by tomb evil ghosts or terror wolf packs.

The line kept retreating step by step until there was no further ground to retreat to. Francois drew the Unicorn Sword and joined the battle, but the duke immediately realized that he was facing enemies far superior in number. The Divine Watchers of La-Mesnil Abbey had been reduced from five hundred to thirty people, yet they still called out the Lady’s name to fight for protection. A bloodthirsty bat wolf grabbed a walking knight from the ground and tore him in half with its hands. Amid the splattering of guts and blood, the giant beast tossed the two halves of the body towards the peasant infantry corps that were still fighting desperately, letting out a mighty roar.

As the fierce battle continued, tens of thousands of undead and humans fell, the progress of the battle leaving Kemler, standing on the black carriage, feeling anxious.

The old soldiers of the Winford Escapee Group were nearing their limits. The expanded group of originally nearly two thousand people was now reduced to just six hundred. While teetering and preparing to face slaughter by the bloodthirsty bat wolf, a green light fell from the sky.

It was the Wood Elf Hero, Alaros the Brave! He rode a giant eagle, and this giant eagle gave out a sharp screech, like a cannonball, striking the chest of the bloodthirsty bat wolf. Alaros’s long spear pierced through the chest of the bloodthirsty bat wolf.

An ominous red heart was picked out by Alaros with the long spear. The Wood Elf hero disdainfully crushed this heart into pieces while nocking an arrow on the giant eagle, shooting an arrow through the skull of a desolate tomb guard captain, then flying up high into the sky.

In the end, all tactics and strategies dissolved into a grand melee. The battlefield ground had been soaked with blood, turning it into a quagmire of blood and mud, filled with unrecognizable corpses like a swamp watered with blood plasma. The central army led by Francois finally began to falter. Under the duke’s order, six thousand remaining of the ten thousand-strong central army were retreating towards the monastery—the city wall being the final line of defense.

The Undead Grand Mage had become nearly frenzied at this point, his magic power exhausted, unable to replenish his army through resurrection magic. Summoning back Guer had severely drained him, and he had noticed the collapse of the left wing. At this point, he had to make a desperate gamble because Francois’s central army was nearing complete collapse. If Mathew Bade’s undead knight army could return to assault the flank of Brittania’s central army, he and his ancient tomb legion still had hope of winning a massive victory and returning triumphant.
