Warhammer Divine Throne

That night, Laine and the others rested inside the Justice Church, which had plenty of rooms to offer, arranging two rooms for their stay proved to be quite spacious.

In the large room, Surya was reclining on the bed, dressed in an ivory silk princess gown with carved patterns. Her golden curls cascaded down her delicate shoulders, her unblemished skin unaffected by battle, and her long, beautiful legs wrapped in black stockings were exposed to the air, revealing the captivating figure and tender silk feet of the female knight.

The female knight had just bathed, attended by her maid Sylvia. Her body exuded the scent of irises as she lazily leaned against soft pillows. On Surya’s exquisitely flawless face was a slight hint of dissatisfaction, as she examined the golden double-headed eagle wedding ring on her left ring finger, feeling the power within.

”Miss, I have finished bathing.” At this moment, Sylvia entered the room. The maid had also taken the opportunity to bathe, unusually letting down her golden hair, her purple eyes serious: ”Miss, are you still unhappy about what happened before?”

”It’s not really unhappiness, I know Laine is concerned about me, not wanting me to take risks.” Surya sighed lightly, gesturing for her maid to sit next to her: ”Sit down, Sylvia.”

Sylvia could sense that Surya’s mood wasn’t very high, and so she sat at the bedside.

After discussing it well with Belgar, Laine was preparing to head underground with Belgar and the Imperial Army the next morning to eliminate the Skaven Ratmen’s frontline base and teleportation gate. Concerned for Surya’s safety, he disagreed with Surya accompanying him underground as it was indeed dangerous; nobody knew what lay beneath, especially with Belgar’s repeated warnings to be prepared.

However, Surya still learned of it. The Countess seriously expressed the desire to live and die with her husband. Despite Laine’s repeated persuasion, Surya was firm in her decision, and Laine could only agree.

Laine was now outside discussing entry into the underground with Emperor Carl Franz and Belgar, while maid Sylvia took this opportunity to chat with her lady.

”I can understand Laine’s attitude.” Surya said with a smile: ”He’s in a bad mood.”

”Bad mood?”

”Yes, this trip was originally our honeymoon trip. He hoped to quietly complete the journey and then return to the territory to prepare for the offensive against the Black Stone Stronghold.” Surya spoke calmly: ”But here at Hemgart, we encountered a plague. Now Miss Teresa is seriously injured, likely needing six months to recover. Veronica is less hurt, but having exhausted her magic power, she temporarily cannot contribute to any battles.”

”So, the Count is only concerned about his two female courtiers?” Sylvia said unhappily: ”Miss, you are his wife!”

”What can those two female courtiers do? I don’t mean it like that. Sylvia, don’t let your thoughts wander.” Surya shook her head repeatedly, her face always lightly smiling: ”I’m talking about Laine. Don’t be fooled by his confident appearance. In reality, he’s probably quite frustrated deep down. As the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lady, he couldn’t protect those around him, including me. He always thought it was too much for me to face five Rat Giants alone.”

”If it weren’t for the Count fighting relentlessly, blocking half the rat tide alone and destroying two dimensional lightning cannons, we wouldn’t have been able to hold the church.” Sylvia said, speaking fairly: ”Is the Count’s self-expectation too high?”

”Laine? He has always had high expectations for himself, which is understandable, considering he is the Lady’s Divine Chosen Champion, the idol, and model for all knights in the Kingdom.” Surya’s eyes sparkled with wisdom as the female knight sighed: ”Actually, you know? Our marriage could have been decided earlier, but Laine was somewhat reluctant. He didn’t want to give people the impression of clinging to his father immediately after becoming a Baron, so our marriage was only confirmed after he was promoted to Count.”

”Mhm mhm.” Sylvia nodded repeatedly. Considering Laine’s pride, he couldn’t possibly agree to marry Miss with a weaker status.

The room fell silent for a moment, Sylvia reluctantly admitted: ”Miss, I have to say, I believe only Laine in the entire country is worthy of you.”

”But there are quite a few noblewomen worthy of Laine, Sylvia. You need to understand that Laine is a thirty-one-year-old Holy Sanctuary Holy Grail Knight, and what does that mean?” Surya nodded: ”Since I’m so fortunate, I must cherish this hard-earned happiness, Sylvia. I hope you can understand, and everyone else can as well.”

”Laine is my husband and also the master of the Count’s Domain!”

The maid was startled deep down. She knew Surya’s words weren’t only directed at her but served as a warning to the entire Servant Corps under the Marchioness.

Miss had painstakingly found a worthy match, and if these people intended to cause trouble, even the female knight wouldn’t let them off easily! Any disagreements between the couple were private matters; she wouldn’t allow the servants’ involvement.

Sylvia naturally knew that several people in Surya’s Servant Corps felt superior, looking down on Laine’s men. After all, Surya’s family had a thousand-year heritage and enjoyed high status in the Kingdom, while Laine’s subordinates somewhat lacked in identity and status.
