Warhammer Divine Throne

The Emperor’s reinforcements have arrived!

Hemgart is saved!

With the freshly joined troops on the battlefield, the situation changed dramatically. The cunning Skaven Warlord Osside immediately abandoned the fight. This Ratman Warlord tucked his tail and fled with his personal guard, leaving behind a leaderless rabble.

Emperor Carl Franz had the mind to pursue the Skaven Warlord, but ultimately he ordered the focus to be on assisting those survivors who were fighting to the death.

Now is not the time to seek glory, rescuing the survivors is what is most important.

Laine himself stood as a bastion before the human line, utterly destroying the Ratmen’s final struggles. Afterward, the Half-Griffin Knights and Rick Guard’s group charge completely routed the Ratmen.

Skaven Ratmen were driven out of the Justice Church, and the survivors could finally catch their breath. Many soldiers and refugees fainted on the spot.

The battle was still ongoing as the Emperor’s army entered Hemgart, and under Carl Franz’s command, they thoroughly swept the town.

With the Great Swordsmen joining the conflict, the defeat of the Ratmen was inevitable, and Laine no longer needed to personally intervene. The Lake Fairy’s Divine Chosen Champion let out a light sigh of relief.

Laine, within Hemgart, single-handedly crushed the Grey Prophet Spat and its entire army, including the Plague Monk Legion, Gutter Runner army, and dimensional lightning cannon.

It was precisely due to Laine’s efforts that the Skaven Ratmen, during the siege of the Justice Church, lacked the support of ranged troops and siege weapons, allowing the refugees to hold on until now.

”Really? Veronica and Teresa were both injured?” Laine drew a long breath after learning of the events, holding onto Surya’s small hand as he sat down. The Lake Fairy’s Divine Chosen Champion had fought fiercely for a day and night, yet his plate armor remained shiny as new, seemingly unaffected at all: ”And you? Surya? Are you hurt?”

”I’m fine.” The female Knight shook her head repeatedly: ”The Ratmen couldn’t breach my defenses. I’m just a bit tired, but it’s no big deal. You should go check on Miss Teresa quickly, she’s the most severely injured and has been poisoned.”

”Alright, I’ll leave this to you, and I’ll go check on Teresa and Veronica.” Laine patted Surya’s shoulder. He said no more; the two were already married, and he didn’t need to emphasize anything further with Surya.

Upon opening the door to the chapel’s inner chamber, the smell of blood wafted up, causing Laine to frown. There were several Skaven Ratmen corpses on the ground.

Veronica, clad in a fiery red leather outfit, was leaning on a chair. Seeing Laine enter, the Jialan Witch chuckled knowingly: ”I knew you would come over.”

”Of course I’d come over.” Laine replied with a wry smile, always feeling uncomfortable under Veronica’s teasing gaze: ”Is Teresa alright?”

The female sorcerer had already fallen asleep, her injuries severe. Veronica’s potion could only temporarily stop the bleeding, stabilize the injuries, and suppress the poison. To fully recover, she needed a long period of recuperation.

”I really don’t know what kind of charm you’ve got on this Jialan Little Princess. How many times now? She truly went all out for your matters.” Veronica said with a sour tone, pulling her dark brown hair back: ”She only went on an adventure with you once.”

”Veronica, don’t make it sound so harsh. I know you’re also willing to go all out for my matters.” Laine reached out, lifting the Jialan Witch onto his lap, giving her a soft kiss on the lips: ”Even if you don’t say it, I understand.”

Veronica let out a small hum, though the blush on her face refused to fade. She allowed Laine to hold her for about five seconds: ”Alright, you must hurry and help Teresa with the antidote. The dimensional stone is toxic, as we all know. Otherwise, Lady Surya wouldn’t have taken such a risk to pull out the dimensional stone dagger.”

”I understand.” Laine nodded, knowing the dimensional stone carried strong toxicity and Chaos Energy.

”Go quickly, I’ll close the door for you... That sounds really strange. I really have to wonder if Teresa did this on purpose?” Veronica said, pushing Laine away, and walked toward the door.

”She didn’t know,” Laine shrugged.

”But she got what she wanted!” Veronica closed the room door, seemingly casting a small spell, bringing sudden quiet to the outside sounds.

Laine sat by the female sorcerer’s bedside, a peculiar smile on his face: ”Alright, Teresa, I know you’ve been awake all this time.”

Pale-faced and wrapped in bandages, the female sorcerer finally opened her eyes, her silvery gaze tinged with slight panic: ”Sorry, Laine, I...”

”I’m the one who should apologize.” Laine said softly, gently brushing the female sorcerer’s long black hair: ”Now, let me help you with the antidote.”

”The...antidote? What’s...what does that entail? I heard Veronica say...” Teresa’s face flushed instantly, stammering: ”Could it be...”

”Yes, it is exactly as you think.” Laine continued to smile, squinting, and spoke softly: ”No worries, I’ll be gentle. Besides, haven’t you been looking forward to this for a long time?”

”But I don’t want it here, what kind of place is this!” Teresa murmured, complaining: ”I’m still injured!”

”There’s no other way; your body can’t wait. The toxicity of the dimensional stone needs to be addressed quickly.” Laine took Teresa’s left hand: ”I understand you want a beautiful memory, and I don’t want it like this either, but you don’t want any lingering effects or scars, do you?”
