Warhammer Divine Throne

The commotion upstairs was naturally felt by everyone downstairs.

”Teresa! What’s going on! What happened?” By the time Surya arrived, the scene she encountered was the female sorcerer lying in a pool of blood and the corpse of the Ratman assassin with its head smashed.

A green dimensional stone dagger was deeply embedded in Teresa’s chest. At a critical moment, Teresa managed to kill the Ratman assassin, but she was also seriously injured, the dimensional stone dagger piercing above her heart, and blood was flowing from the wound.

”Teresa?” Surya quickly signaled her maid, Sylvia, to come over. The female knight took out the best healing potion, checked that the dagger hadn’t affected the heart, and then instructed her subordinates to carefully withdraw the dagger and stop the bleeding, applying the rapid healing potion specially made by the Lake God Prophet to her wound: ”Damn it, how did it come to this?”

”Pa~” Maid Sylvia pulled the dimensional stone dagger out from the female sorcerer’s shoulder and applied healing potion. The dimensional stone dagger was embedded deeply, luckily in the last moment Teresa barely moved her body, preventing the Ratman assassin’s dagger from stabbing the heart.

”Ugh~ It’s bad.” Teresa’s complexion was already pale, and it worsened after the dagger was drawn. She groaned in pain: ”Damn, the ice wall, the ice wall can’t be maintained much longer.”

”Ice wall? That’s not important now. Hurry, get Miss Teresa to the room downstairs!” The female knight immediately shook her head, her face growing cold and solemn: ”Laine entrusted you and Miss Veronica to me; I absolutely cannot let anything happen to you.”

”But without the ice wall, the Ratmen...” Teresa wanted to say something more, but Surya had already signaled the servants. The Marchioness of Winford and Countess Glamorgan at this moment exuded the aura of great nobles, and the servants lifted the severely injured female sorcerer and placed her onto a plank.

The church was large, Surya knew it was hard to hide everything from everyone, but now there was no time to care about that.

In two minutes, the injured Teresa was placed onto the bed in a small room inside the church, the bed where Veronica had rested before. The female sorcerer’s condition was dire, the dimensional stone was highly toxic, Teresa’s right arm had been injured when breaking out to the city wall, and now after the Ratman assassination attempt, with the dagger withdrawn she had nearly lost all combat capability.

”Teresa, how much longer can your ice wall hold?”

”At most fifteen minutes.”

”I’ll deal with the Ratman threat! You need to rest quickly.” After saying a few words, Surya immediately led the servants out.

”Oh dear, Princess Jialan, how did you end up in such a state? Look at you! Do you still resemble that proud little peacock?” Veronica sat in front of the wooden table, her complexion wasn’t good either; the Jialan Witch scoffed at the female sorcerer’s injured state: ”How come you’ve clipped your wings before you’ve even taken off?”

”I don’t want to argue with you, it won’t make me feel better, Veronica!” Teresa felt a piercing pain in her chest, the female sorcerer writhed on the bed like a prawn, continually praying she hadn’t been poisoned, though Teresa knew it was unlikely—the cunning Skaven Ratmen would definitely poison the dagger.

Veronica’s situation wasn’t good either; the Jialan Witch had internal injuries, her magic power was exhausted in the previous combat, and had only partially recovered. She taunted Teresa with her words while swiftly concocting a potion with her hands.

Very soon, a bottle of green potion took shape in Veronica’s hands. Veronica packed the clear green liquid into a glass bottle and placed it in front of Teresa: ”Indeed, arguing won’t make you feel better, but this will. It’s my specially made healing potion, drink it quickly, otherwise you won’t last three days.”

The female sorcerer, already somewhat dazed, glared at Veronica and forced herself to extend her left hand to take the glass bottle, downing the green liquid inside in a few gulps.

The effect of the healing potion was remarkable; in just one minute, the female sorcerer’s head cleared, the pain at the wound diminished, and the dispersed poison was suppressed.

”Consider me indebted to you, I will surely repay you.” Teresa knew that an ordinary healing potion wouldn’t have such an effect; Veronica must have used some particularly precious substances to make this temporary concoction.

”Heh~ If you truly want to repay me, then vow never to meet Laine again.” Veronica eyed her askance: ”That’s the most sincere way; can you do it?”

”...” Teresa chose to remain silent.

”Here we are, two patients sharing a bed.” Veronica sighed softly: ”My swordsmanship is barely salvageable, without magical power I’m nothing, as for you, it’s best not to go out in your condition.”

”Everything will be left to Lady Surya and Laine. Laine...he has never let us down.”

”Hm.”

...

Outside the room, Surya exerted all her effort to keep everyone calm, the female knight’s brow tightly furrowed as she watched the situation inside the church.

After a night of intense combat, the human soldiers were incredibly weary; Surya ordered the position at the church’s entrance stairway to be abandoned, and everyone retreated into the church, ready to hold the last line of defense.

The Ratmen ceased their attack, seemingly waiting for something, and Surya knew what the Ratmen were waiting for, the female knight’s expression was as cold as ice, showcasing her astonishing beauty.
