Warhammer Divine Throne

The sound of cavalry lances shattering echoed through the air, the sharp tips of the lances carrying the knights’ endless wrath and judgment against evil, piercing through the formation of Nurgle’s army.

”Uwaa!” In the face of the knights’ massed charge, the Chaos Warriors at the forefront fell in swathes, but the brave knights, undaunted by death, invoked the name of the Lake Fairy as they charged into battle.

The surging torrent crushed Nurgle’s army’s attempts to regroup, with the dozen Holy Grail Knights at the forefront being the long swords that cleaved through all obstacles. They shredded any enemy before them, be it Chaos Warriors, Chaos Raiders, or the nauseating Chosen of Nurgle, all fell under their fierce assault.

Especially Lady’s Divine Chosen Champion Laine, whenever the knights cheered, it signaled another Chosen of Nurgle slain by this Champion, as if he possessed endless strength.

Yet the Holy Grail Knights were not the majority of knights.

The Ranger Knights and Kingdom Knights raced through the plains, slaughtering all of the Evil God’s minions. Filthy and foul Chaos Warriors fell one after another, yet reinforcements from the Rotting Realm emerged incessantly. As the knights’ impact waned, casualties started to occur; Nurgle’s army pierced the armor of steeds with their scorching and vile long spears and long halberds. The corroded war axes sliced through the chain armor of Rangers, knights fell from horses amid screams. The lucky ones might barely use their sword and shield for infantry combat, while most dismounted knights perished under the war axes and long spears of Chaos Warriors.

The knights fought valiantly, using long swords after losing their lances, they countered evil with sword and shield, still gaining victories. But the Chaos Great Demon Master of Pus was crushing the knights’ efforts, the Great Demon simply plowed through all, wielding a giant sword to sweep two Ranger Knights into the air.

It was now dawn, a slight chill lingering in the early spring morning. On the plains, knights clashed everywhere with Chaos Demons, bizarre Nurgle Demons and iron-clad Chosen of Nurgle had initially been scattered by the knights, yet the Chaos folk who knew not pain or injury began taking time to reform ranks. Knights without charge power gradually became entangled with these savage creatures, those blessed by Chaos had armor too thick for less skilled Ranger Knights to penetrate.

A line stretching hundreds of meters thronged with knights and Nurgle’s forces locked in fierce combat.

Laine and the White Wolf Knights deep within the line converged, Boris, blood-soaked, held the Prince-Elector’s Holy Sword, which was soaked with the blood of Chaos Demons and emanated a strange radiance.

The Prince-Elector’s Holy Sword bore blessings from human and Dwarf gods, doubling the user’s stamina recovery, the Dwarf Magic Runes on the blade glowed warmly. Boris glared at Laine with one eye, shouting, ”Kid, there are too many demons! And more are coming; we need a plan!”

Dodging a Chosen Warrior’s long halberd, Laine’s Warhammer smashed the Warrior’s head, allowing him to shout back at Boris, ”Break through!”

”No, Yurik’s followers never retreat!” Boris swung his sword, slaying two Chaos Warriors in quick succession.

”I’m not asking for retreat, we need to kill our way out and reform ranks!” Laine shouted, as afar, hordes of Nurgle Demons continued to emerge from the Rotting Realm. Formless Chaos Eggs, pus-covered Chaos Giant appeared, with a giant club sweeping Cheetah Knights and a group of Chaos Warriors into the sky, followed by a discontented roar.

The Chaos Demon Army was like a vast net, slowly encircling the knights who charged into the Chaos Array.

”Let’s break out!” Knight Commander Eugene, head of the Holy Grail Knight stationed at Kulona Branch, nodded at Laine. His short golden hair and long beard glinted as he wielded a longsword, vertically cleaving a Chaos Warrior’s head from top to mouth. The Holy Grail Knights found themselves isolated from the Knight Army, few could penetrate so deeply into Nurgle’s forces. Most knights had broken through the first, second, and third layers, but Nurgle’s army had eight layers altogether. In the visible distance, space rent apart, still more of Nurgle’s Demon Legion reached the frontline.

The terrifying Chaos Great Demon was harvesting straggling Kingdom Knights, even Legendary Tier knights met defeat charging forward.

”Oh, my Lady! Please continue to grant us courage and strength.” Eugene murmured.

With slight consideration, Boris quickly nodded, ”Yes, this is not retreat. Brothers, comrades, let us break out, regroup under Yurik’s Holy Fire, and face these scum head-on! Focus on me!”

”Oh oh!” The White Wolf Knights displayed formidable strength, unlike Brittania Knights who excelled at cavalry lance charges, White Wolf Knights were masters of melee and brawls like mudflows. They swiftly carved a bloody path out of Nurgle’s forces, surprisingly these knights, renowned in the Old World, remained largely intact, with only a few having found eternal rest here.
