Warhammer Divine Throne

The memory from ten thousand years ago.

The once burning passion and glory, the brothers of the past, the children of then, all have gone far away, leaving behind emptiness.

”Grey Knight Primarch, I need your help.” Just then, Great Sage Belisarius Kaur of the Mechanical God Cult approached Laine: ”Regarding the matter you mentioned last time...”

”Yes, I spoke to you last time; I want to create the Grey Knights,” Laine said solemnly.

”Understood, understood, but the production of Grey Knights is very unique. The new Primaris Space Marine technology has already been successfully tested on the Ultimate Warriors, but whether it can work on the Grey Knights remains to be tested. I need to take some of your blood for research.” Great Sage Kaur stated with an emotionless electronic voice.

”Alright!” Laine nodded, and then a large needle extended from Kaur’s robes, piercing Laine.

Great Sage drew more than six hundred milliliters of blood from Laine before stopping.

At this moment, Magnus finally understood the cause and effect. The Genetic Primarch of Thousand Sons sneered: ”Heh, I didn’t expect your Prime Minister to leave you one last hope, yes, you never trust us, the one you truly trust is only him.”

”That’s because you guys are unreliable! Truly a bunch of spoiled brats,” the Emperor said coldly.

”Uh...” Magnus’s crimson eyes darted around as he looked at Angerong’s happy appearance, and then he whispered, ”Um... Father, how about I stay here? Laine needs a helper, a magic helper, I think I can handle it...”

”You also want to stay? No, no, Magnus, I have a more important mission for you, one that involves the future of humanity! You will become a hero guarding humanity!” The Emperor’s expression changed subtly, that face filled with countless miracles and light seemed to be suppressing something.

”Will you appoint me as Warmaster? Father? Let me lead your empire on another grand expedition?” Magnus immediately thought of a possibility, the Primarch of Thousand Sons pondered more and more that it might be true, thinking that if father could change his ways and appoint him as Warmaster, then serving him again wouldn’t be impossible.

”You’ll know once you follow me back,” the Emperor patted Magnus’s shoulder, his facial expression looking amiable: ”It’s definitely a surprise.”

”Alright.” Tempted by the pie drawn by his father, Magnus gave up the intention to stay.

Next, the Emperor patted Laine’s head: ”Leave things here to you, Laine, Angerong, I’m taking Magnus back.”

”Okay.” Laine, who had six hundred milliliters of blood drawn, had a pale complexion. He and Angerong nodded together.

The Emperor and Great Sage Kaur of the Mechanical God Cult, along with the recently recovered Red Son Magnus, left together. After greeting the Imperial Guard and others, Laine and Angerong walked out of the rock cave, strolling in the snowy woodland.

After a few steps, Angerong suddenly sighed: ”Magnus is still so foolish, unimaginably foolish, he actually really thought father would appoint him as Warmaster.”

”Hahaha~ It’s always good to have dreams, brother.” Laine laughed with his hands behind his back: ”Actually, it wouldn’t be him anyway.”

”Indeed, father just wants someone to replace him and maintain the Star Torch, to sit on the Golden Throne.” Angerong chuckled: ”It’s indeed a surprise, but it’s more shock than delight.”

”Hahahahah~” The two Genetic Primarchs laughed loudly on the snowy plain, causing many snow drifts to fall to the ground.

”Brother, it seems we’ll have to figure out your weapon ourselves.” Laine remembered another issue: ”To create a weapon akin to a power axe, we need Vibranium; only the highest quality material can make the weapon you’re envisioning.”

”I understand, but where can we find Vibranium?” Angerong nodded, indicating his understanding.

”Vibranium... The vast majority in the world is controlled by the Dwarves, and even if there is a small circulation in the market, it’s hard for us to obtain it, firstly due to insufficient funds, secondly because a small amount of Vibranium isn’t enough to make a War Axe of sufficient weight for you.” Laine frowned, he was quite attentive to Angerong’s concerns.

”No rush, brother, actually I still haven’t fully recovered from the weakness of rebirth, this will at least take another seven to eight years.” Angerong understandingly patted Laine’s shoulder: ”Take it slow, you handle your matters first, there’s no hurry on my end.”

”Thank you.” Laine felt quite touched.

”In this world, there are only the two of us brothers, we should support each other.”

”Alright!”

......

In the following days, Laine focused on governing his domain. Under his administration, Baron Gene’s Domain was full of business opportunities, attracting numerous Free People to settle there, river-side workshops gradually flourished, many like leather and textile workshops officially began operations, and the presence of the Wood Elf Trading Station attracted countless merchants and nobles to trade, each time the goods brought by the Wood Elves sold out by the next day, the Wood Elves also took this opportunity to obtain many urgently needed supplies such as amber, minerals, timber, and winter food (Wood Elves generally do not engage in farming).

Time reached December, and the footsteps of the Winter Festival approached closer.

This was the first Winter Festival Laine spent after coming to this country.

Before celebrating the Winter Festival, Laine summoned all his knights and courtiers for a year-end meeting, attended by Laine’s Tax Officer Gaspardon, Steward Kasenberg, his four knights Lops, Hex, Olivier, and Angerong, his vineyard manager Durand, his Magic Consultant Veronica, and the builder of the Justice Church Chapel, Alfred.

Unknowingly, he had already established his own retinue.

In this year, he accomplished many things, building his domain, attracting investment, participating in the Knightly War, and rising to fame in this country, many minstrels sung songs of his, having entered the Knight Kingdom for less than a year, he earned a Second-class Iris Badge and was promoted to Holy Grail Knight Commander.

Many Dukes had shown friendliness towards him, but there were also many Dukes who harbored quite an animosity, for instance, Duke of Borelion believed Laine’s absorption of many Free People from his territory to be a provocation, and Duke of Paragon envied Laine’s ability to trade with the Wood Elves.

”In the upcoming year, I plan to recuperate and consolidate our current domain foundation, ensure public order, while training the military and developing commerce.” Laine said at the year-end meeting: ”Currently, Gene’s Domain’s foundation is not solid, there are quite a few conflicts between locals and newcomers, so for the time being, I don’t plan to deploy troops.”

Hearing Laine’s plan, knights were somewhat disappointed as war is the best way to advance, but his Tax Officer and Steward were very happy as this is what they wanted.

After the meeting, Laine called his blonde-haired, blue-eyed childhood friend: ”Afu? Spend the Winter Festival at my castle!”

”Oh! Yes, indeed, my friend, this year in your domain either you were at war or I was busy with matters, making it less likely for us to meet up, sure, I will definitely come.” Alfred nodded, maintaining his optimistic demeanor.

”Great!” Just as Laine nodded, Steward Kasenberg suddenly returned: ”My Baron?”

”What is it? Kasenberg?”

”Her Highness Mogiana has arrived.”
