Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Communicating with Xiaozhang

”Clients...”

”Sometimes they make unreasonable demands...”

The woman stammered, and Zhang Zhe assumed she was just embarrassed.

It was true; working in sales could lead to some awkward situations.

It was normal to find it hard to talk about.

”It’s fine. If it’s inconvenient to talk about, then don’t.”

”But let me just say, a young woman shouldn’t accept anything just for money. You have to turn down some client demands.”

”Like a male colleague of mine, he went to a female client’s house in the middle of the night wearing a cat-girl outfit just for a deal. That kind of thing is completely unnecessary.”

”However, those experiences you find hard to talk about... they might not be a good fit for me. Wealthy men in the mainland still prefer their daughters-in-law to be a bit more... innocent.”

”No, no!” the woman said, panicking. ”I’ve never done anything like that! I still have my dignity.”

”Then tell me how they gave you a hard time!”

”I... I forgot.”

[High-Value Intelligence]

[Your blind date, Dong Wei, has not told you her real situation. She has never worked in sales. She was previously a clerk at a factory, and her parents work at a factory in Yun City. Her family’s financial situation is not good;

all the information she has revealed so far has been fabricated by a matchmaking agency. Host, please do not take it seriously!]

What?

Reading the intelligence report, Zhang Zhe felt like he and Hui Zi had been set up.

’Does Qing City have socialite-grooming classes now?’

Hui Zi’s status certainly made him a target. ’Thinking about it,’ he mused, ’that cross-dresser from before was probably in the same situation.’

”Miss, are you on this blind date by yourself right now?”

”Yeah, that’s right.”

”Then can you turn on your camera?”

”Huh? That’s a bit inconvenient. I’m not used to being on camera.”

”It’s fine, you can cover your face. I mainly want to see your living environment, your wardrobe, that sort of thing.”

Zhang Zhe wanted to confirm if the other party was on this blind date under the direction of a matchmaker.

Looking at the wardrobe was just an excuse:

”When you marry into the family, even though we’ll have a maid, you’ll still need to manage your own personal clothes. Otherwise, my mom—your future mother-in-law—will definitely disapprove of you.”

”Is that convenient for you?”

”...” The woman was silent for a moment. ”Not really. I’m in a small meeting room at my company right now. I’m still at work.”

”Oh, then can you show me your company’s logo?”

”...”

”If your company doesn’t have a logo, you must have a workstation, right? Just take a picture from a distance?”

”...”

”If that doesn’t work, how about taking a picture of your employee ID badge?”

”...”

No matter what Zhang Zhe requested, the only response he received was silence.

He was certainly putting her in a tough spot. How could she take a picture of something that didn’t exist?

After a long while, the woman finally spoke in a hushed, flustered voice:

”I’m so sorry, Teacher Zhang, my manager is coming.”

”I have to go. Bye-bye.”

[Something’s not right, is it?]

[Feels like a scammer. She’s definitely not at her company.]

[A scammer coming on a blind date? This is interesting.]

[Brother Zhang is awesome! You totally forced this girl to show her true colors.]

[Where’s the rich bro who paid for a stand-in? Get out here and shower Brother Zhang with gifts!]

Hui Zi was, of course, watching Zhang Zhe’s livestream.

Not only was he watching, but he was also showering him with praise in a private message:

”Brother Zhang, you’re incredible! You totally tricked her into revealing the truth.”

”You’re basically on the level of a private investigator.”

”The Sherlock of Qing City.”

Hui Zi had originally planned to send a ”Carnival,” but after some thought, he sent a 3,000 yuan transfer instead. This way, Brother Zhang would get to keep more of the money.

Besides him, someone else was also watching Zhang Zhe’s livestream in Boss He’s office at the marriage agency.

Jiang Qi stood next to Boss He, pointing at a tablet that displayed Zhang Zhe’s livestream:

”Old He, this Xiaozhang is getting completely out of line.”

”He’s obviously taking on private jobs, helping those rich guys with their blind dates. All the money is going into his own pocket, and he’s even building his own client base.”

”We’re not getting a single thing out of it.”

”Sister Qi, don’t be hasty. We are getting something out of it—our account is gaining followers.” Boss He tapped on the agency account’s profile picture. ”Look, before Xiaozhang came, we only had 40,000 followers.”

”Now we’re already at 55,000.”

”I asked around. Among the matchmaking agencies in our city, excluding the marketing accounts that buy followers, we have the most.”

”What good are followers?” Jiang Qi said dismissively. ”What’s important is the money, the clients.”

”He’s siphoning off the entire client base for himself.”

”There’s nothing to be done about that,” Boss He said with a wry smile. ”Don’t the other Matchmakers at our agency also take on private work?”

”It’s all based on your own abilities.”

”When a Matchmaker’s own reputation improves, our agency becomes more famous along with them. There’s definitely a benefit in that. You should be able to understand that logic.”

Jiang Qi had been laying the groundwork for this long, just waiting for Boss He to say those words.

The agency didn’t actually forbid Matchmakers from taking private jobs.

It was impossible to prohibit anyway. Everyone has relatives, friends, classmates, and people from their hometown. It was uncontrollable.

But...

”Old He, since you’ve put it that way, I’ll drop the act.”

”These resources Xiaozhang has... I want a piece of them too.”

”Tell him to share some with me.”

”Then you should talk to him,” Boss He said with a laugh. ”Coming to me is useless.”

”I did go to him! He cursed me out and even deliberately bumped into me. If I hadn’t dodged quickly, I’d be lying in a hospital bed right now.”

As soon as Jiang Qi opened her mouth, she launched into the kind of exaggeration and slander typical of a certain type of woman.

Boss He was an old fox; of course she didn’t believe a word of it.

She gestured for Jiang Qi to get straight to the point.

Jiang Qi dropped the pretense and stated her demand directly:

”My demands aren’t high. He ate the meat, so he should at least let us have a sip of the soup, right?”

”Take that woman from the video call just now. You must have realized, right? She’s my target client.”

”Mm, indeed.” Boss He nodded. She knew that Jiang Qi specialized in making money from exactly this type of person.

Wanting to marry into a rich family without having the right background? Besides plastic surgery, getting a Matchmaker to package your image is a must.

This had become one of the new services offered by the Zhuyin Marriage Agency in recent years.

As more and more women entered the matchmaking market, it became necessary to segment the female clientele. Currently, based on performance metrics, the women who spent the most at the agency were those eager to marry up.

”So, just go talk to Xiaozhang.”

”Tell him to give all these resources to me.”

”...Let me think about it.” Boss He didn’t agree immediately. She had special considerations when it came to Zhang Zhe, because she had heard he was helping a leader’s daughter with matchmaking.

This matter was very tricky.

At this critical moment, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

”KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK—”

”Is Boss He in?”

”Who is it?” Jiang Qi yelled, annoyed. ”What do you want?”

”Oh, Xiaojiang, you’re here too.” The person pushed the door open and walked right in. It was a plump, middle-aged woman. She greeted Boss He, looking past Jiang Qi, ”Old He, are you busy?”

When Jiang Qi saw who it was, she immediately wiped the annoyed expression from her face and obediently called out, ”Master.”

”Sister Zhou, what brings you here?” Boss He quickly stood up.

This woman was one of the agency’s partners and the head of the division that Jiang Qi and the others worked in, which handled the ”marry-up” matchmaking business.

”I came because I have a client.”

”She’s currently being set up with a local rich second-generation kid.”

”But for some crazy reason, this rich kid is insisting that the woman first have a blind date with that newcomer at our agency, Xiaozhang.”

”I just watched a bit of Xiaozhang’s livestream. He seems to be a bit of a man-pleaser, and I feel like this whole thing is shaky. I came to find you specifically to see if you could talk to him.”
