Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Retracing Mother’s Path

’Why is Teacher Wang looking for me?’ Zhang Zhe couldn’t figure it out.

’Surely she isn’t trying to set me up with her attending physician, is she?’

’How very thoughtful of her.’

Zhang Zhe didn’t get it, so he didn’t respond to Boss He. He figured he’d wait for her to arrive and check her mental state through the glass first.

If she seemed normal, there was no harm in meeting her.

’Even if it’s just to chat about her insights after getting sick, that would probably be interesting.’

Back in his Douyin livestream.

Zhang Zhe glanced at the viewer count. It was a little higher than before, over 600 now.

People were watching the clips he edited, his account’s follower count was slowly growing, and so, naturally, his viewership was also on the rise.

”Alright, all you brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts, today I’m going to start by helping an older bro check out his blind date.”

”This bro has messaged me a few times.”

”Let me first write down his situation.”

Ever since Zhang Zhe launched his ”Service C”—vetting matchmaking prospects—the private messages on his Douyin had been non-stop.

But it was extremely rare for someone to actually get their prospect to come on the stream for a live matchmaking session with him.

Most of them just asked if they could set up a camera off to the side during their date, so he could analyze it from a third-person perspective on his stream.

’I prefer watching movies in the first person, so why would I want to be a bystander for a blind date?’

Not only was it boring, but the system wouldn’t give any rewards for it either. He just couldn’t get interested.

That was, until this older bro came to him today.

The older bro was very sincere. He was 35, had assets of A8.5, and was divorced with an 8-year-old son.

His ex-wife had been cheating on him. While she was running off with her lover, she was hit and killed by a large truck, leaving their son an inheritance of over a million yuan. The older bro took that money, went into business, and got lucky. Now, his net worth was A8.5.

Now that he was wealthy, his kid was in elementary school, and the emotional wounds from his past had more or less healed, the older bro started thinking about remarrying.

Worried that dating freely would only attract gold diggers, he specifically paid a matchmaking agency to find him introductions from a Matchmaker. After nearly half a year, he finally found a young woman he was interested in.

And she seemed quite satisfied with him, too.

The young woman was great in every other way, and her profile looked normal, but there was just one thing: she was too young, only 24.

This made the older bro a little uneasy.

He was worried she wouldn’t be good to his son, so he asked Zhang Zhe to help analyze her.

If even the renowned Brother Zhang couldn’t find any red flags, he was going to start his pursuit.

”So, that’s the basic rundown on the guy’s situation.”

”A8.5 assets, divorced with a kid, been hurt emotionally before, so he places a high value on loyalty in a marriage.”

”If there’s anyone in the stream who thinks they’re a good fit, you can come on in a bit. The bro himself is watching the stream right now.”

”Alright, now let’s connect with our female guest.”

”Hello, hello, can you hear me?”

”I can hear you. Hello, Brother Zhang.” The woman’s voice was quite polite and sounded rather androgynous.

”Let me first explain—it’s not that I’m dead set on marrying this gentleman. Matchmaking is a two-way street, right? I watched some of your clips, Brother Zhang, before coming on, and I was also hoping you could analyze my own prospects in the marriage market.”

”Mhm, I understand.”

Zhang Zhe nodded in understanding.

But despite what she said, the young woman had already made a poor first impression on him.

Her words, a forced attempt to save face, came across as particularly insincere.

’If she can’t even be honest with herself online, how fake must she be in real life?’

”Why don’t you start by introducing yourself.”

”Um, I’m from Wuxi, and I just got back from studying abroad. I majored in business, and my family’s assets are around A8.”

”I’m 155 cm tall, weigh 48 kg, and my looks are about a 5 out of 10. But I have a pretty good figure. My boobs are pretty big, the ’cherubic face, massive rack’ type...”

[There’s no way a 155cm girl is a 5/10]

[The second I hear ”business major,” I know it’s Australia. It’s easier to get in than it is to register a Steam account.]

[An overseas student comes back to find a divorced guy? Did her family go bankrupt while she was abroad? Is she trying to pay off debts?]

[This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone mention their big boobs during a blind date.]

If the older bro weren’t in the livestream, Zhang Zhe would have absolutely demanded a photo to see for himself after an introduction like that.

But alas, the bro was present, so he had to keep things professional.

”Miss, this is a matchmaking session. Having big boobs isn’t a bonus.”

”It might be an advantage when you’re just dating, but someone looking for marriage doesn’t care about that. Besides, I’m a divorced man with a child right now, not some young guy.”

”Oh, oh, my apologies.”

”I’ll continue my introduction then. My family has A8 assets, with property both in China and abroad. My current job is in cross-border e-commerce.”

”Personally, I’m the type of person who is attracted to power. The guys I meet in my daily life are all pretty immature and don’t really meet my standards for a partner...”

For this young woman to admit she’s ”attracted to power” was already quite honest.

Everyone knows that term is just a nicer-sounding way of saying ”gold digger.”

But this was all out in the open.

As a professional Matchmaker, Zhang Zhe was concerned with far more than that.

After the young woman finished, his first question cut straight to the core: ”What’s your family environment like? And what is your parents’ marital relationship like?”

’To raise a daughter who is ”attracted to power” and is already looking for a divorced man with a kid at 24, there must be a story behind that family.’

”My parents have a great relationship. They were each other’s first love.”

The woman’s answer was very concise.

Zhang Zhe frowned after hearing this. ’I asked about their marriage, and she’s talking about their relationship. Does she have a comprehension problem?’

”Your parents were each other’s first love. Would they accept you finding a partner who is divorced and 11 years older than you?”

”A normal family wouldn’t be able to accept that.”

Zhang Zhe stated it definitively. Everyone’s perception of marriage is shaped by their own life experiences.

A couple who got together as each other’s first love would believe that a marriage built on mutual support and romance is the norm.

It would be nearly impossible for them to accept their child finding a partner with a large age gap who is also divorced, even if that child were adopted.

”Oh no, they would,” the woman on the call said, not detecting Zhang Zhe’s certain tone. ”My mom is pretty easygoing. As long as I’m happy, she’s fine with it.”

”My dad might be a little hard to talk to, but we don’t have a good relationship, so he can’t control me anyway.”

”So your family barely has any say in your life?”

”Pretty much. I’m an adult now, I have to be responsible for myself.”

Zhang Zhe was a bit confused. The situation sounded like the father disliked his daughter, sent her abroad to study, and wanted nothing to do with her after she returned, with only the mother secretly giving her money.

The audience felt similarly and was busy speculating about the woman’s situation.

[Did she do something scandalous in school, and now her family has disowned her?]

[Her dad is probably much older than her mom, which is why she can accept an older guy.]

[Like mother, like daughter, I guess.]

[She says she’s in ”cross-border e-commerce.” I’m starting to suspect she’s just a customer service rep.]

Zhang Zhe glanced at the live comments and straightened out his thoughts.

’An overseas student from a supposedly well-off family is willing to accept an older, divorced man with a child. This means her job is mediocre, and her family life is definitely not happy...’

’It’s highly likely that her father was her mother’s first love, but not the other way around.’

’In other words, her mom got where she is by being the other woman!’

The moment he thought of this, everything suddenly became clear to Zhang Zhe.

It all made sense now.

’Her father has another family with his original wife and children. She may come from a wealthy household on paper, but she probably won’t inherit much.’

’That’s why she’s walking a similar path to her mother’s.’

Just as Zhang Zhe figured it out, the system immediately sent him an intelligence report.

It confirmed his suspicions.

[High-Value Intelligence]

[Host’s deduction is mostly correct. Your current matchmaking prospect, Ding Lingling, grew up lacking a father’s love. Compounded by her mother’s influence, this has led to a particularly twisted view of love and marriage.

Host is advised to stay away from such a woman. Her worldview is highly likely to negatively influence your children!!!]
