Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: He’s in a Bit of a Bad Mood

”Sorry, streamer, but you’re wrong,” the woman said, a bit smugly. ”His parents are very supportive of our marriage. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have offered to put up four million for a house in Yanjing.”

”Actually, we’re about to get engaged. It’s always been my parents who disapprove. His side is perfectly happy with it.”

”Is that so? Well, that’s probably because they don’t know you’re thinking of trading up right before the engagement,” Zhang Zhe said with a sigh. ”I hope they stumble across the clips from my stream.”

[Streamer, hurry up and cut the clip! I’ll throw 10,000 yuan into paid promotion for it!]

[She still dares to act up? Who does she think she is?]

[Brother Zhang, I think I know her boyfriend. Ask him if he’s from Harbin!]

[You really think his parents aren’t wary of you? Their family can definitely afford more than just four million.]

Zhang Zhe could actually understand the boyfriend’s parents’ attitude. Their son probably didn’t have much relationship experience. Now that he had found someone through his own efforts and was ready for marriage, they likely wouldn’t object as long as the woman wasn’t too problematic.

Educated, urban families tend to respect their children’s wishes, especially when the parents can handle their own retirement without help...

Perhaps startled by Zhang Zhe’s words, the thought that the man’s family might see her call on Xiaohongshu made the woman lose her nerve:

”I never said anything about trading up. You’re the one making up rumors, streamer.”

”As the person involved, I do not permit you to make clips of our call. I haven’t authorized you, understand? If you dare to post them, I’ll sue you for invasion of privacy! I’ll sue you for everything you’ve got!”

”Oh.” Zhang Zhe nodded with a serious expression. ”Then I’ll just post it from a different account.”

”You just reminded me. Hey, everyone in the stream, go follow the account in the top right corner, [Matchmaking Live Stream Room]. From now on, all the clips will be posted there.”

”By the way, that’s my personal account. I’m just working for hire when I stream on this Granny Xu account.”

”Side hustles are all the rage now, aren’t they? I’m just starting another account to make some money on the side.”

”I’ll sue you even if you post it from another account,” the woman warned. ”Either way, you have to cut out the part where I called in for a consultation.”

”Go ahead. Feel free to sue that account. I was just worried my new account wouldn’t get popular. Thanks for the free publicity.”

The thought of getting this kind of material right as he was starting to build his personal brand made the corners of Zhang Zhe’s mouth twitch, trying to hold back a smile.

[Just laugh if you want to, streamer.]

[This woman is clueless. You think someone who makes a living from online matchmaking is afraid of getting sued?]

[Usually, joining a live call like this implies consent. The court might not even side with her.]

[You blurted it all out yourself in a live stream with over 2,000 people watching. What privacy are you even talking about? Are you an idiot?]

Maybe it was because Zhang Zhe’s attitude was too arrogant.

Or maybe the bullet comments hit the nail on the head.

In any case, after hearing Zhang Zhe, the woman’s tone suddenly became incredibly soft. ”Brother Zhang, I’m sorry. I got a little emotional just now.”

”I didn’t mean it like that. What I meant to say was, I actually have a bit of pre-marital anxiety, which is why I came online for a consultation.”

”After listening to your analysis, I know I was wrong.”

”But if my boyfriend’s family sees this, they’ll definitely have a problem with me. It might even affect our wedding. Streamer, can you please not post the clips? I’m begging you.”

”I can pay for a consultation. Seriously, I’ll buy one right now.”

”No need.” Zhang Zhe shook his head. ”You’re too late. A whale bought out all my consultation slots for the stream already, and I haven’t restocked yet.”

”It’s not that you know you were wrong. You just realized you might get ’returned to sender’ and end up unmarriageable.”

”Go on, get out of here. Stop embarrassing yourself.”

”Huh? But Brother Zhang, you...” The woman wanted to keep pleading, but Zhang Zhe didn’t give her the chance.

’Either stick to your guns from the start, or don’t act tough in the first place.’

’This woman is such an idiot. Her stupidity is giving me a headache.’

Fortunately, the next caller seemed to be a normal person.

And he brought good news right from the start:

”Brother Zhang, I think I know that woman’s boyfriend. Hold on a sec, I’ll give him a call so you can talk to him.”

”No way, man. Are you for real?” Zhang Zhe couldn’t believe such a coincidence.

But on second thought, the combination of the man’s and woman’s circumstances—especially the fact that the man had vitiligo—could indeed help confirm his identity.

”For real. The guy was in the dorm room next to mine in high school,” the caller explained. ”His vitiligo isn’t very noticeable. It just looks like new skin after a burn. No one would even know if he didn’t mention it himself.”

”He must have met this woman after he got his master’s degree. I’ve never seen her, but I’ve heard others talk about her.”

”Anyway, it’s no big deal if I’m mistaken. But if it really is him, then I have to help him dodge this bullet.”

”Hang on, Brother Zhang. Let me talk to him first.”

The caller on the other end clearly muted his mic, presumably to confirm.

Zhang Zhe glanced at the bullet comments. The audience was still arguing:

[Isn’t this going to ruin their marriage? After the streamer’s advice, the woman will definitely change her mind.]

[Whether she changes is her business. The guy has a right to know!]

[She’s 30 years old and still acting like a child? She needs to take responsibility for her own actions.]

[I kind of hope it is the same guy, but I also kind of hope it’s not. Sigh, it’s not easy for guys these days.]

Zhang Zhe agreed with one of the viewers: the man had the right to know.

The man had been completely transparent, clearly explaining his family situation, his parents’ professions, and even his genetic condition before the engagement. He was also willing to build a home with the woman in Yanjing.

From a traditional perspective, he was a responsible man.

To be harsher, according to the extreme views of some online forum users, the guy was kind of a simp. With his qualifications, he had settled for an ordinary 30-year-old woman, only to be looked down upon by her.

Given that they had a real-life relationship, Zhang Zhe couldn’t really judge whether he was a simp or not. But the man absolutely had the right to know what had just happened.

”Hey, Brother Zhang, I’ve confirmed it.”

”It is his girlfriend.”

”But he’s a bit down right now and can’t really talk to you. Do you have any advice you could give him?”

”Brother Zhang, don’t feel any pressure. If anything goes wrong, it’s on me.”

”Just say what’s on your mind!”

The caller’s hint couldn’t have been more obvious. Zhang Zhe suspected that even if he said nothing, the guy would still tell his friend:

’The streamer says you should break up with her immediately.’

Zhang Zhe thought for a moment. ’I should probably say something.’ Then he spoke:

”Pass on a message to him for me. Since the woman cares so much about her parents’ opinion, he should also consult his own parents more.”

”That’s all. I’m not telling him to break up, so don’t misquote me.”

”You got it!” the man replied.

On the other end, he seemed to be speaking into his phone: ”Gangzi, the streamer said you should still ask your parents’ opinion before breaking up.”

”But I don’t think your parents would want you to put up with this crap.”

”Whoa, whoa, whoa, I didn’t—I never said that!” Zhang Zhe was flabbergasted that the guy would twist his words right in front of him. ’This is outrageous. Good thing this is all being recorded.’

[It’s fine, we’ll be your witnesses. That’s exactly what you said.]

[Brother Zhang isn’t wrong, though. Since the woman is playing these games before the wedding, the man should definitely discuss it with his family.]

[Honestly, I think the girl is just a bit of a mama’s girl. Is she really as bad as you all are making her out to be?]

[”Not that bad”? Sis, would you want to marry a mama’s boy?]
