Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Brother Zhang’s Strict Selection

”So you’ve never been in a relationship, is that right?”

”That’s right,” the woman said with absolute certainty. ”I have a very clear understanding of myself. For someone from a family like mine, if I want to move up in social class, marriage is the only path.”

”Hmm. Now that you say that, I believe you about your education. It fits my perception of a highly educated woman. You’re supposed to have a clear plan for yourself.”

Zhang Zhe watched in silence, waiting for the system to react.

He had no way of verifying if she was telling the truth.

He could only rely on the system.

[Medium-Value Intelligence]

[Your matchmaking subject, Xing Caixuan, indeed has no relationship experience and has never dated a man. However, she has very weak career ambition. Her life’s goal is to marry a good man and then do nothing at all. The Host’s current wealth is insufficient to keep her in a gilded cage, but you can get to know her first and slowly develop feelings.]

Zhang Zhe automatically ignored the system’s suggestion.

He didn’t have the assets to afford such a luxury.

This woman didn’t really have any major flaws. Although she was very goal-oriented, in the current dating market, she was actually a breath of fresh air.

It’s just that she set her sights too high. Her own family was A7 at best. To jump two tiers and shoot for A9 would be incredibly difficult.

”Just having no relationship experience isn’t enough.”

”An only son from an A9 family would have no trouble finding a younger version of you at a university.”

”True, but I have another advantage,” the woman said frankly. ”I have no career ambition. I’m willing to be a full-time housewife.”

”My education and looks prove I have good genes, and my family upbringing means I can raise children well...”

”How is that an advantage?” Zhang Zhe didn’t understand.

’What’s wrong with being a full-time homemaker? In an A9 family, it’s not strange for the husband to work and the wife to manage the household, right? Focusing on the home after marriage is a common choice for the wives of many wealthy men.’

[Streamer, think about it: when do people start caring about genes?]

[Does having a bachelor’s and master’s from a top-3 school automatically mean you can raise kids well? I’ve seen people with PhDs who are terrible at teaching their own children.]

[I thought this woman didn’t have much of a career to begin with? Why does she have this tone like she’s sacrificing it for the family?]

Only after glancing at the live comments did Zhang Zhe understand.

’Oh, so what she meant was that being a housewife equals being willing to have children, raise them, and take full responsibility for their education.’

”So you’re saying you’re willing to completely give up your career to focus wholeheartedly on the family. Is that it?”

”Yes.” The woman emphasized her academic credentials.

’Top 3 in Hang Z... that has to be Zhejiang University.’

’It was indeed a top-tier university. But in Zhang Zhe’s experience, graduating from a prestigious school didn’t guarantee a bright future. A good school just raised your floor.’

”I feel like the prerequisite for giving up a career is actually having a career to give up, don’t you think?”

”Didn’t you just say you were a cog in the machine with no hope of promotion?”

”Right, but the man wouldn’t know that.”

”Well...” Zhang Zhe pointed at himself. ”I know now.”

”That’s fine, that’s fine. I can just find another one.”

”Anyway, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to use marriage to climb the social ladder.”

”Why not rely on yourself? You have a bachelor’s and master’s from a top-3 university. Your alumni are constantly having IPOs in Hong Kong or ringing the bell at Nasdaq,” Zhang Zhe retorted.

”That’s too exhausting,” the woman said with a sigh. ”I’m dead tired after studying for so many years. I want to take it easy.”

”Worst case, I’ll just lower my standards.”

”Looks, age... I’d even consider someone who’s divorced.”

”Well, you’re honest,” Zhang Zhe couldn’t really criticize her, because he’d had similar thoughts back when he had a job.

’Auntie, I’m so tired... I don’t want to struggle anymore.’

”I think you should first work on your self-awareness.”

”You’re the type of person who I think should go on a lot of dates. You have firm boundaries, and dating will help you quickly figure out where you stand.”

”Otherwise, if I were to tell you right now that going back to your hometown and marrying an A8 would be an excellent choice, you definitely wouldn’t believe me.”

”I certainly don’t believe it!” the woman shot back. ”If I’m going to find an A8, I’ll find one in Hang Z.”

”All I can say is, there might be a chance. Go ahead and try.”

”Me... with your criteria, you shouldn’t hold out any hope. We’re not a good match.”

’Good education, 5/10 looks, little relationship experience, dual-income parents in a small town with no major pension burden... with these credentials, she can afford to aim a little higher.’

[The streamer’s being pretty objective.]

[She’s young, so she really might have a chance to marry a local guy with roots here.]

[I’m just worried she’ll get scammed by some rich guy. Using marriage to climb the social ladder isn’t that easy.]

After the woman left the call, Zhang Zhe glanced at his DMs.

Brother Fu, who had been on the call earlier, had sent him several private messages.

It looked like he had been taking notes while watching:

”This woman’s not bad. I don’t really care if her family has money. If they’re too rich, I wouldn’t be able to handle it anyway, since I rely on my family.”

”The fact that she’s never been in a relationship is a huge plus. I just don’t know if it’s true, and it’s kind of hard to verify.”

”Brother Zhang, how about we go with her?”

”No, no, that won’t work. My family doesn’t support freeloaders. My mother still wants my other half to have her own career.”

”Brother Zhang, you’re a beast. Your analysis is spot on. I trust your judgment.”

Zhang Zhe read the messages and smiled. ’This kid is getting impatient.’

’You’ll slowly come to understand the meaning of ”Brother Zhang’s Choice Cuts.”’

...

”Let’s welcome our next guest.”

”Go ahead and introduce yourself.”

”Hello, Brother Zhang. I’m from Su Z, born in December of ’99. I have a full-time associate’s degree, and then I earned a bachelor’s degree through an adult education program.”

”My father doesn’t have a government job, but his work is very stable. He works for our local neighborhood committee.”

”My mother is a middle school English teacher.”

”And our family’s assets are around 20 million...”

”Stop, stop, stop!” Something felt off to Zhang Zhe, and he quickly cut her off. ”Don’t state your family’s assets so directly. It’s not a good idea.”

”Why not?” the woman asked, confused. ”Weren’t you the one who required us to report our family assets?”

”I did, but... there are exceptions to every rule.”

”Never mind. Just look at the live comments.”

[That accent is definitely not from Su Z. Sounds like she’s from Su Bei.]

[I thought girls from Su Z don’t marry outsiders?]

The woman actually read the comments and said unhappily, ”I’m not from Su Bei! My family has lived in Su Z for generations. How can the commenters say I’m from Su Bei?”

”I didn’t tell you to look at those,” Zhang Zhe said, slapping his forehead in resignation. ”Don’t pay attention to comments about regionalism. They’re just messing around because they’re bored.”

”Ohh~”

”Well, you weren’t clear,” the woman said, sounding a little hurt.

[This girl is a bit of an airhead.]

[Don’t get flustered, Streamer, it’s fine.]

[How can her family be that rich?]

[Public-sector employees really shouldn’t disclose their assets. If someone starts questioning where the money came from, you’ll be in big trouble.]
