The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1645: Chapter 664: Unexpected Guests (2)

Turning the thought over, Zhou Wang came to understand that Charles regarded himself as half the host, which is why he made a special effort to arrive early and planned to help him greet the guests.

After all, among the invitees this time, there were many people Zhou Wang was dealing with for the first time, and Charles’s status determined that he would handle them more adeptly than Zhou Wang.

Moreover, unlike Zhou Wang who had long since ”retired backstage” with few aware of his real relationship with Cloud Group, Charles’s status as an heir to the Morgan family ensured these people would shelve their disdain and give Zhou Wang the respect he deserved.

Once he realized this, Zhou Wang couldn’t continue lazing around in the study. He stretched lazily and stood up, first grabbing Xu Wenqian and pulling her into his arms, giving her a heavy kiss.

After their lips and teeth tangled, looking at Xu Wenqian’s expression caught between indulgence and helplessness due to the smell of smoke from his mouth, Zhou Wang smiled contentedly and then patted her pert bottom.

”Go bring me my clothes.”

...

At eight in the evening.

The night had fallen, and the orange lights filtered through the high walls of No. 9 Manor in Hanam-dong, casting a warm shimmer over the night sky, with gentle music drifting faintly among the occasional laughter and chatter.

From the spacious main hall of the manor extending out onto the vast lawn, after the initial traditional ball segment, guests formed small groups or wandered alone, each seeking their place in this open social scene.

A small stage was set up on the lawn for band performances, initially playing classical traditional pieces, and then, at the host’s invitation, singers began taking the stage one after another, staging live shows akin to an entertainment gala for the guests.

Though Zhou Wang hadn’t truly invited many people today, his current status as YG Entertainment’s Chairman and a genuine giant of the Korean entertainment world ensured there were far more ’unexpected guests’ at the banquet.

First, many YG Entertainment artists followed the invited Lee Jeong-jae, Blackpink members, and Jeon So-mi to arrive, and then countless first- and second-tier stars in the circle came spontaneously upon hearing the news.

They were quite tactful, all coming under the guise of congratulating Chairman Zhou on his housewarming, personally coming to the manor’s door to deliver gifts or red envelopes.

In such circumstances, Zhou Wang certainly couldn’t let them drop off their gifts and leave directly. Out of courtesy and consideration of reputation, he had to open the gates and entertain them as part of the banquet.

... Luckily, Zhou Wang’s two housekeepers were both seasoned and experienced professionals who had anticipated the excessive guest count well in advance, and thus, amidst the exponential increase in guest numbers, they hastily enlisted a large number of service personnel from a housekeeping company to handle the situation, managing to deal with it even amidst the frenzy.

Also fortunate was that Zhou Wang’s manor was large enough that simultaneously hosting a basement entertainment room and the lawn meant accommodating hundreds easily without feeling crowded.

The only issue was that most of the wine cellar left by the previous owner would probably be consumed tonight.

But that didn’t matter. After all, Zhou Wang wouldn’t spend much time in Korea and theoretically, unless there are special occasions, it might take years to finish all the wine.

”I’m so sorry but I love you, 나를 떠나...”

At this moment, on the small stage, Jennie was performing a classic song by Bigbang, ”Lies”, clad in a silver evening gown, delivering a rendition that had a completely different kind of spice than the original, yet equally pleasing.

Not far away, holding a champagne glass and whispering to Lin Yun’er beside him, Zhou Wang was quite enjoying himself.

But what amused him even more was something else.

It was during those occasional exchanged glances across the distance that Jennie looked at him with eyes filled with complex emotions.

Those little glances that seemed full of disdain yet couldn’t resist evading, made Zhou Wang endlessly entertained, causing him to stare at her persistently, rendering his conversation with Lin Yun’er somewhat distracted.

”Chairman Zhou, since you’ve watched ’Zhao Zilong’, do you really think my acting is terrible?”

”It’s alright...”

”I-I’ve actually come to some new insights in acting recently, Chairman Zhou. Why don’t you help me scrutinize them somewhere quiet? I want to know if I’ve genuinely improved.”

”Sorry, what did you say? I didn’t catch it.”

Only then did Zhou Wang retract his gaze.

Beside him, Lin Yun’er discreetly glanced towards the stage, feeling a bit resentful, yet struggling to voice her previous words.

Her strongly suggestive invitation was something she had carefully brewed for quite some time before saying out loud, and now, Zhou Wang asking her to repeat it was somewhat embarrassing!

Just as Lin Yun’er hesitated, dressed similarly in evening attire, Sura hurried over and whispered something to Zhou Wang.

”Oh?”

Startled, Zhou Wang immediately displayed a surprised expression, seemingly carrying a slight hint of delight.

”Take me there.”

Zhou Wang first said to Sura, then apologized to Lin Yun’er, ”Some friends have arrived. I’m going to greet them. Please, Miss Yun’er, feel free.”

Without waiting for Lin Yun’er to say anything, Zhou Wang followed Sura quickly away, leaving Lin Yun’er to stamp her foot in annoyance.

She was really timid... but she hesitated only 0.5 seconds!

...

Inside a small reception room near the manor’s front gate, when Zhou Wang arrived with Sura leading, he immediately saw several ”familiar” faces.

The reason for the ”familiarity” was that Zhou Wang knew them, but this knowledge was not in the sense of friendship; he was merely familiar with their faces.

The people gathered here, upon seeing Zhou Wang enter, immediately stood up, voluntarily greeting him.

”Mr. Zhou...”

They all spoke in clear and precise Mandarin.

Indeed, these were Huaxia people, or more accurately, they came from the Huaxia Entertainment Industry.

Among them, only one person could be considered truly known to Zhou Wang.

”Miss Di, we meet again. Why did you suddenly come over?”

With a slightly complex smile, he shook the hand of the girl clad in a black strap dress with a highly designed outer lady’s suit jacket, her sensual figure subtly veiled.

She possessed high cheekbones, deep-set eyes, a finely contoured high nose, distinct facial features, a full lip shape, combining Western bone structure’s definition with Oriental skin’s softness, and her large almond-shaped eyes carried an innocent seductiveness when slightly turned up.

The rare part was her beauty subtly emanating with an undercurrent of vigor.

This was Miss Di whom Zhou Wang had interacted with in Paris.

Back then, due to drinking and playing games, some ambiguous scenes occurred, and the embarrassed Miss Di rushed off the next day while Zhou Wang did not ”strike while the iron was hot.” Later, as time passed, their unconnected relationship had stayed at that point.

Now upon meeting again, there was even a touch of unfamiliarity.

”I happened to be attending a show in Seoul these last couple of days and originally planned to gather with friends also working in Korea this evening. Then, upon hearing about your banquet here, we came by uninvited with them. You don’t mind, do you, Mr. Zhou?”

In the presence of others, Miss Di was perfectly composed, simply explaining the situation to Zhou Wang before acting as the intermediary in introducing other stars from the Huaxia Entertainment Industry.

Wang Jiale, Miss Song, Zhao Silu, Wang Yibo...

They were all Huaxia celebrities who, for various reasons, had gained high popularity in Korea.

For instance, Miss Di herself, due to the drama ”Three Lives Three Worlds”, had amassed a substantial fan base in Korea.

Zhou Wang actually knew most of them, but he had long since been disillusioned with the so-called allure of stars, so he acted very ordinarily.

However, it was unknown if these people had heard some tales within the circle or had been advised by Miss Di earlier, for they were exceedingly courteous to Zhou Wang.

Yet, upon introducing the last visitor, Zhou Wang’s expression subtly shifted, revealing a slight sincerity.

He clasped the gloved hand of the newcomer, smiling:

”I’ve long admired you... Immortal Sister.”
