The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1603: Chapter 644: Three Women and a Play

”Min’er, did you see the old man at the door who’s greeting guests?”

”What? I didn’t notice...”

Cui Min’er said without turning her head, still scanning the various celebrities to relax her mind.

”That’s President Jin of YG Entertainment, a real big shot. Did you see the woman chatting with him? That’s Zheng Chunyan, the Vice President of SM Entertainment... And that bald man I greeted earlier who ignored me, he’s a dispatched director from HYBE. I’ve seen him at a party before, so he should remember me, but it seems like he really can’t recognize me.”

Sun Nana talked to herself, sighing, ”I’ve been struggling so long in the modeling world, sacrificed so much for everything I have today, but in the eyes of these people, I’m still an insignificant little role. They don’t even care to remember my name or give me the most basic impression...”

Sun Nana laughed nervously.

Cui Min’er didn’t notice her odd behavior, just absentmindedly responded a couple of times.

She was pondering how to get signatures from Lin Yun’er and IU, not knowing if taking a photo with them would be okay since no one seemed to be doing that at the moment and it might be embarrassing...

By this time, the two had entered the ballroom but were in a side section, not the main hall.

Only top celebrities and entertainment industry executives could enter the main hall. Along with various models, non-mainstream media, and third- and fourth-tier celebrities, they couldn’t enter the main hall without a specific invitation, which was an unspoken rule.

Sun Nana had just told Cui Min’er about this, and while Cui Min’er was thinking about how to get close to IU, who had entered the main hall, Sun Nana’s faint voice sounded beside her.

”Min’er, you really are as aloof as ever!”

”Hmm?”

Cui Min’er was somewhat confused.

”You’ve always been like this. Clearly, we’re both girls from the bottom, but you’ve always been so aloof, and I wonder where your confidence comes from.”

Sun Nana murmured, ”Do you remember high school? Those boys chasing me only wanted to take advantage of me, tricking me into the grove to touch my chest, but for you... they sent all sorts of gifts to please you, even wrote ridiculous love letters, not even daring to touch your hand. Why is that?”

”Oh, you’ve always been lucky. Look, you effortlessly met someone outstanding like Young Master Woo-bin, while I, just for a chance to audition, had to undress and please a disgusting old man...”

Cui Min’er listened to Sun Nana’s seemingly self-talking laughter, looking at her peculiar gaze, and suddenly felt as if her childhood friend had become a stranger. This feeling of unfamiliarity even sent chills down her spine.

”Nana, what’s wrong with you, why are you saying so many strange things all of a sudden?”

Cui Min’er forced a smile and said.

”I’m just purely envious of you, maybe a little jealous... hehe, just kidding!”

At this moment, Sun Nana suddenly stuck out her tongue and laughed, returning to normal. She hooked her arm around Cui Min’er’s, leading her in a certain direction.

”Let me introduce you to a few friends, it’ll be really helpful for you. They can easily help you get those celebrities’ autographs, and even photos will be simple!”

”Really?”

Before Cui Min’er could ask clearly, she already felt the force from Sun Nana’s hand, involuntarily following her forward.

...

As the clock struck nine, most of the invited guests had arrived, except for a few ”ulterior motives.”

Or like Charles, a heavyweight guest with special status, for whom Zhou Wang sent an invitation with a different time... He expected the opening remarks to start around nine thirty, and for Charles, as long as he arrived before then, it wouldn’t be considered rude.

A section of the main ballroom was designated for YG Entertainment’s stars.

After greeting various friends in the circle, Jin Zhixiu and Lisa, who arrived first, sat at the same table silently.

According to the nameplates on the table, this table was prepared for BlackPink and the few A-list female stars in the company, as per usual practice... The four BlackPink members have always had a good relationship, and it would be strange if they didn’t sit together.

Just now, there were others chatting nearby, so it didn’t seem unusual. But now that others were finding their places, leaving only Jin Zhixiu and Lisa at the table, a strange atmosphere began to silently flow in the air.

These two girlfriends, who should have been as close as sisters, were now averting their gazes a bit, as if afraid to meet each other’s eyes.

They hadn’t contacted each other for nearly two days, an unthinkable situation before.

All of this started two days ago when they locked eyes at the company’s elevator door...

Jin Zhixiu’s small hand unconsciously grasped the hem of her dress, unable to endure the awkwardness any longer, while a certain doubt persisted in her mind, making her mood like a roller coaster these past two days, wavering up and down.

Due to pride and shyness, she was unwilling to directly ask Zhou Wang. Now seemed like a suitable opportunity to get answers from Lisa...
