The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1330: Chapter 514: ”Illness” (2)

The seafood porridge was a bit cold, likely leftover from the buffet restaurant... It’s not that it couldn’t be made fresh, but it would take a long time, so Zhou Wang specifically requested them to bring the ready-made one on the phone.

Zhou Wang poured a glass of warm water, then carried everything into the guest bedroom.

Qu Peining was still curled up on the big bed, wrapped in the towel. It wasn’t tightly wrapped to begin with, so a bit of skin was inevitably exposed. She had her eyes tightly closed, and it was unclear whether she had dozed off again in this short interval.

Zhou Wang placed the tray on the bedside table, glanced at her a few times, and perhaps due to her vulnerable and harmless posture, Zhou Wang realized that she wasn’t much older than Xiao Ai, probably around twenty years old, still a girl.

He stared at her for a few seconds, his gaze involuntarily drifting towards the tantalizing shadows beneath the towel. Zhou Wang then cleared his throat and spoke:

”Qu Peining, try to eat something. You don’t have any seafood allergies, do you? I brought some porridge. Once you’ve had it, you’ll regain some strength...”

But what made Zhou Wang frown was that Qu Peining appeared to be truly asleep, with no reaction whatsoever.

”Qu Peining?”

Zhou Wang called her a few more times, then realized something was wrong. He tentatively reached out his hand to gently touch Qu Peining’s forehead, and then his expression turned serious.

As expected, Qu Peining’s forehead had become scorching at some point. It was then, brushing aside the hair on her face, that Zhou Wang saw her complexion was pale yet flushed, her breathing weak and rapid.

It was probably during her bath or because she remained wrapped in a wet towel that compounded her already weakened state, leading to a high fever.

Fortunately, Zhou Wang anticipated Qu Peining’s condition and had the club send over a medical kit, which should contain fever-reducing medicine.

At this moment, Zhou Wang didn’t bother to seek Qu Peining’s consent; he directly removed the towel from her body and retrieved a clean towel to carefully wipe off the remaining water droplets on her skin.

Even facing Zhou Wang without a stitch of clothing, Qu Peining remained silent, solidifying Zhou Wang’s belief that her fever had rendered her semi-conscious.

During the wiping process, Qu Peining’s distinct features, a blend of white and red hues, inevitably led Zhou Wang to entertain many odd thoughts. He could only reprimand himself as inhuman while also helplessly feasting his eyes on Qu Peining’s supremely aesthetic figure.

Finally managing to finish the task, Zhou Wang, exerting significant willpower, covered Qu Peining with the thin blanket, and exhaled a heavy sigh of relief.

Only then did he realize that at some point he, too, had become drenched in sweat...

Then Zhou Wang became aware of a new problem.

With Qu Peining asleep due to the high fever, how would he give her food, water, and the fever-reducing medicine?

Although there was a syringe in the medical kit, truth be told, Zhou Wang wasn’t very confident in using it, worried he’d mess it up.

”Qu Peining, can you open your eyes? You need to drink some water...”

Zhou Wang glanced at Qu Peining’s parched lips and couldn’t help but speak up.

Not eating for two days might be okay, but going without water for two days would undoubtedly cause problems, even for a body of iron.

Thinking it over, Zhou Wang could only reach out to lift Qu Peining by the neck, raising her head, and then brought the glass of water to her lips.

As she sensed the water’s proximity, out of instinct, Qu Peining’s lips twitched. Zhou Wang tried to pour some in, but it was evident her condition was still not right, with most of the water trickling down her chin, seemingly having difficulty even swallowing.

After wiping her clean and realizing this method wouldn’t work, especially since he needed to give her medication, Zhou Wang muttered softly:

”Even if you can’t hear me, I really didn’t mean it. If I don’t help you, I fear you might die here, so please forgive me...”

Without further hesitation, Zhou Wang took a mouthful of warm water, held up Qu Peining’s smooth back, and as he brought her body slightly upright, he leaned in.

At the moment of contact, it didn’t feel particularly pleasant.

After all, the colorless lips of Qu Peining felt much too dry.

This gave Zhou Wang an odd sense of kissing a branch.

But as Zhou Wang gradually applied more pressure, breaking through the dry exterior, the softness revealed beneath, everything returned to normal.

Zhou Wang didn’t get lost in the dopamine-releasing pleasure; rather, he quickly pried open her nearly defenseless mouth, and as he captured that playful tongue, the warm water from his mouth flowed over.

At this moment, stimulated by the tactile sensation, Qu Peining finally regained some awareness. Her eyelashes fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes.

A hint of confusion surfaced in those clear black-and-white eyes; at first, she couldn’t make sense of the situation, with her consciousness caught up in that complex, indescribable feeling.

Though her breathing became labored, the sudden warmth invading her body made her instinctively open her lips wider, desperately drawing in the life-giving essence that seemed to lift her soul.

Zhou Wang, engrossed in feeding her water, paused for a moment.

He didn’t expect such an intense response from Qu Peining...

Moreover, it didn’t feel awkward at all, not like a girl’s first kiss.

When he finished feeding her the water, Zhou Wang let go and noticed she seemed awake, though her gaze still lacked focus.

”Want...”

”Hmm?”

Upon hearing her mutter something, Zhou Wang leaned in closer.

”Water, I want more water...”

Qu Peining weakly repeated.

Seeing her awake, Zhou Wang refrained from using the primitive method and instead offered the glass of water to her lips.

But what startled Zhou Wang was that after a small sip, Qu Peining shook her head and frowned, ”No... I want the water from just now...”

”Uh?”

While Zhou Wang froze, Qu Peining gazed at him with hazy eyes, softly pleading, ”Please...”

Boom!

Zhou Wang felt like his soul was about to explode.

Even though he knew Qu Peining might not be fully conscious, how could Zhou Wang refuse such a request?

Therefore, Zhou Wang took another large mouthful of water, then leaned down, capturing her now no longer dry lips.

As the water was passed along, the fascinating sensation from the dense nerve endings reverberated between them, both so avid in quenching their ”thirst”.

When that mouthful of water was finished, without needing Qu Peining to say anything, Zhou Wang grabbed the glass, taking another gulp...

This cycle repeated countless times until an entire glass of water was delivered into Qu Peining’s mouth, and she seemed finally satisfied.

As she weakly attempted to collapse back into bed, Zhou Wang tapped his head.

”Wait a sec, forgot about the medicine.”

Zhou Wang then crushed the pills as much as possible, poured a fresh glass of water, and once more fed the medicine to Qu Peining.

After all this fuss, the blanket had long slipped off Qu Peining’s body, revealing much skin, which left Zhou Wang embarrassed. Her smooth neck and shoulders bore several clear fingertip marks, evidently from his earlier obliviousness.

Fortunately, after drinking water and taking medicine, Qu Peining quickly dozed off again. This time, however, her breathing was more stable.

Zhou Wang fetched a wet towel from the bathroom and laid it over her forehead. At last, everything was complete.

Feeling like he too had expended considerable energy, Zhou Wang lay down beside Qu Peining in a starfish position, his mind swimming with random thoughts until, in that blurry state, he gradually drifted off...
