The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1303: Chapter 502: The Decision (Part 2)

Guo Nansheng sneered coldly.

”If I was just here to deal with you, I wouldn’t even need to be here; I have a hundred ways to resolve this quietly. Do you believe that?”

Zhou Wang stared at Guo Nansheng, trying to make one last effort. ”Old Guo, if you’re willing to trust me just one last time, put down that lighter. I can’t promise anything, but at least you’ll still have a chance to see your mother.”

Guo Nansheng fell silent.

After several seconds, he finally gritted his teeth and said, ”Sorry, Zhou Wang, you haven’t been through what I’ve been through. Right now, I can’t trust anyone anymore...”

As he spoke, Guo Nansheng looked at the metal lighter in his hand. With a movement of his fingers, the metal casing fell off, revealing the original look of the remote control, with a bright red button that stood out prominently.

”I can’t be sure if you’re playing tricks, but my instincts tell me that delaying further won’t do me any good. It’s a pity—I had planned to have some ceremony, to gradually see the faces of my enemies who ruined my family just before they die. But now, it seems I’ll have to activate it ahead of time...”

Guo Nansheng took one last deep look at Zhou Wang. ”Brother Dog, I don’t know how much you know about those matters, but even if I choose to believe you weren’t deliberate, you are ultimately the initiator of all this...”

”Calling you ’Brother Dog’ one last time because I’ll always remember—when I started university and everyone said I was hard to get along with—you were the first among the guys to talk to me.”

After saying this, Guo Nansheng’s fingers hovered over the red button.

”Old Guo, don’t...”

Zhou Wang’s final persuasion had barely escaped his lips when Guo Nansheng decisively closed his eyes and pressed heavily on that red button.

Boom!

The expected sound of an explosion came, but it was somewhat peculiar.

For one thing, the sound seemed distant, as if it wasn’t coming from above, and secondly, Guo Nansheng didn’t feel any shock.

He opened his eyes in surprise and saw the floor-to-ceiling windows reflecting in a myriad of colors. In the sky outside, fireworks burst brightly in succession, but in the spacious area separated by the window, everything remained eerily quiet, with nothing happening.

Zhou Wang lit another cigarette for himself. His features were indistinct in the shadowy backlight. After exhaling a mouthful of smoke, he spoke softly,

”Old Guo, since you’ve made your choice, all I can say is I’m sorry.”

As Zhou Wang’s words fell, three or four fully armed figures slowly emerged from the surrounding darkness, enclosing Guo Nansheng.

”The bomb Gao Xuelan gave you is the latest technology. My bodyguards are skilled, but it’s impossible for one person to disarm them all in a short time. I had no choice but to call in elite personnel from Tyrant Security, but once they act, protocol requires reporting to the authorities.”

Zhou Wang sighed. ”I was originally thinking that if you didn’t activate that remote control, there might still be ways to settle this. But now, even I can’t forcefully suppress this matter.”

”The police car is already on its way. They will take you into custody first and then deal with the stored bombs. I’ll help you hire the best lawyer to seek leniency.”

”Zhou Wang...”

Fury and despair simultaneously resonated in Guo Nansheng’s heart. Only then did he realize he had misunderstood something.

Zhou Wang wasn’t in a hurry to find him; he was calm because he was so confident about his victory...

Guo Nansheng wanted to say something, but as Zhou Wang turned around and waved his hand, his mouth was taped shut, and he was taken away by the people from Tyrant Security, dragged from the room.

Until the muffled cries faded entirely, Zhou Wang stood quietly before the dazzling fireworks at the window for a while longer, then took out his phone and dialed a number.

”Hello, Xiao Wang, did you find Gao Xuelan? Good. Listen carefully to what I’m about to say next...”

Zhou Wang took a deep breath.

...

About ten minutes later.

When the grand fireworks display outside finally came to an end, in a private lounge on the fifty-sixth floor, Guo Wangshan and others, each caught in their thoughts, saw Zhou Wang enter through the door.

They had been brought to this room, where cell signal had been restored but were still confined, with security personnel stationed at the door, preventing them from moving freely.

Everyone present had notable status and rank, and connection to such events, even if Zhou Wang’s bodyguards called it ”circumstantial,” some dissatisfaction had inevitably brewed in their hearts.

Except for Guo Nansheng, who was relatively calm, Zhang Shiling and He Jinglun had learned of Zhou Wang’s ”true identity” tonight, which inexplicably instilled some reverence in them, which kept them from expressing much outwardly; the other three, Chen Qiaosheng, Liu Heng, and Shen Li, openly showed their agitation on their faces.

Finally seeing Zhou Wang, Chen Qiaosheng was the first to stand up, forcing a smile as he said, ”Mr. Zhou, your hospitality is quite peculiar. We’re not necessarily obliged to attend this banquet, but keeping us in a small room like this, what does it mean?”

”And what about that bomb?”

Shen Li couldn’t help but question, ”Mr. Zhou, do you truly know nothing about this?”

Liu Heng didn’t even bother with pleasantries, coldly saying, ”Mr. Zhou, can we leave now? This banquet seems so dangerous, I dare not stay here any longer.”

Though they suspected Zhou Wang might be the ”Seventh Person,” the one who had always been the mastermind behind the Wangjiang Association, it’s not something they could confirm right away; even if Zhou Wang were the Seventh Person, given the passage of time and their accumulated wealth, they couldn’t possibly hold much fear for him now.

The only apprehension they might have pertained to the potential connection Zhou Wang had to Cloud Trust, which was the main reason they agreed to attend the banquet.

Zhou Wang’s face remained calm as his gaze swept across the people present, then he lightly smiled.

”I knew there was a bomb in that room before I invited you in.”

Upon hearing Zhou Wang’s words, everyone froze. Chen Qiaosheng repeated incredulously, ”You... you knew?”

”Yes, I did it deliberately.”

Seeing Zhou Wang nod, they finally confirmed they weren’t imagining things; Zhou Wang had indeed admitted it. Their faces instantly darkened.

”Mr. Zhou, what do you mean by that?”

”Mr. Zhou, if that bomb was real, how is such behavior any different from murder? Do you know what you’re doing!”

As they angrily rebuked him, Guo Wangshan, who first sensed something was amiss, quickly approached. He stopped the agitated trio with a glance, then looked at Zhou Wang with confusion.

”Brother Zhou, can you explain?”

”Is an explanation necessary?”

Zhou Wang’s deep gaze slowly swept through the people in the room, his tone gradually cooling as he spoke, ”This is merely a small punishment for the insatiable greed among some of you. Do you really think I know nothing about how Guo Sanli died?”

”Brother Guo, I ask you, was this in the blueprint plan I gave you back then?”

Facing Zhou Wang’s question, not just Guo Wangshan, the faces of others also changed to varying degrees. Zhang Shiling murmured,

”Zhou... Mr. Zhou, what do you mean by that? Wasn’t Guo Sanli said to have committed suicide by jumping into the sea?”
