The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 565: Chapter 236 ’Make Up the Numbers’_3

The little interlude was, when Lu Chen went on stage, a girl in the audience screamed, and more than one person shouted ”Senior Lu,” showing that even after a year since graduation, quite a few juniors still remembered Lu Chen.

As soon as Lu Chen started speaking, Brother B finally knew what was off.

”Hello juniors, I’m Lu Chen. I graduated from Cai University’s School of Economics last year. During my time at school, I received a national scholarship once, multiple provincial scholarships, and I also represented the school in several academic and sports competitions, such as...”

Wang Qiaobin only then realized his situation was a bit awkward. According to the procedure, it seemed he was also supposed to go up and introduce himself.

But looking at others, whenever they talked about past experiences, it was either various scholarships or honors. Even talking about the present, they were either prestigious university graduates or business elites. His resume was hardly worth mentioning...

What should he say, that he was ”a well-rounded student,” good at foot baths, good at massage, good at SPA?

Forget about honor certificates, even his diploma was something Wang Qiaobin got after retaking exams a few times.

Thinking about this, Wang Qiaobin discreetly took a few steps back, planning to manually skip this segment.

But obviously, Lu Chen had it all planned out and wasn’t going to let him off easily. Just as Wang Qiaobin was about to sneak away, Lu Chen had finished his own introduction and pointed at him with a smile, saying,

”Juniors, I’ve finished, and next up is Senior Wang Qiaobin, someone I truly admire, too. Let’s welcome him with applause!”

As the Cai University students present looked over with curiosity, they obligingly started clapping.

An incredibly embarrassed Wang Qiaobin could only brace himself and go on stage, dryly introducing himself,

”Um, hello everyone, I’m Wang Qiaobin, a graduate of the Law School class of ’23... I wish you juniors great success in your futures, thank you!”

Although Wang Qiaobin’s self-introduction was overly brief compared to others, the juniors present at most found it puzzling and wouldn’t think much of it. But at precisely this moment, Lu Chen walked over, grabbed the microphone, and joked,

”This Senior Wang of yours, his family is in the chain spa business. Back then, he was famously known as the ’Footbath Bro’ in our class. In the future, you can mention his name for a discount when you visit his family’s spa!”

Some juniors let out surprised laughter, and the junior girls covered their mouths, while only Wang Qiaobin was left feeling endlessly humiliated and irritated.

But Lu Chen was clever, his tone making it sound like a joke to lighten the mood, leaving Wang Qiaobin unable to lash out and thus could only laugh awkwardly as he stepped down from the stage.

As the attending graduates finished their introductions, the tea social entered the free interaction segment. Naturally, nobody took the initiative to approach Wang Qiaobin.

Because of Lu Chen’s ”explanation,” the juniors present subconsciously regarded Wang Qiaobin as merely a number, and although they had a lasting impression of him, it was naturally impossible for them to seek him out to discuss anything.

Wang Qiaobin stood solo in the corner, watching Lu Chen, surrounded by the most juniors, talking grandly with an air of triumph, grinding his teeth unconsciously.

He suddenly regretted attending today’s networking activity.

He hadn’t felt this way during school, but today he realized, in such a setting, someone like him was merely Lu Chen’s backdrop.

At least to these naive college students, whether he was wealthy or not was entirely unimportant, and even to the school, he wasn’t really someone of note.

Feeling quite dispirited, Wang Qiaobin pinched the twenty-thousand-yuan check in his pocket, truly feeling a bit like leaving.

Just at that moment, a clear voice came from the side, ”Student Wang Qiaobin, hello, may I bother you for a moment...”

Turning his head, Wang Qiaobin saw that it wasn’t a student greeting him, but rather a female teacher in charge of maintaining order at the scene.

”I’m Ni Hong, a teacher with the school’s Youth League Committee.”

Ni Hong extended her hand towards Wang Qiaobin.

Staring at her pretty face for a moment, Wang Qiaobin forced a smile and shook her hand, ”Hello, Teacher Ni.”

”Um... Student Wang, I want to confirm something with you. I heard that you have a good relationship with this year’s graduate from the Law School, Zhou Wang, is that true?”

Ni Hong hesitated for a moment, then leaned closer and asked softly.

”Zhou Wang?”

Wang Qiaobin was taken aback, then nodded, ”Yeah, we’re quite good, still in touch now. Teacher Ni, why are you asking about him...”

”It’s like this, actually, Zhou Wang was also invited to today’s introductory event, though he’ll only arrive this afternoon...”

Seeing Wang Qiaobin nod, Ni Hong’s face clearly relaxed quite a bit, and she smiled slightly as she explained, ”I have something on my side where I’d like to ask for your help, Student Wang.”
