Chapter 563: Chapter 236 ’Make Up the Numbers

Caiyun University, one of Huaxia’s 211 universities, was ranked around 70th for its soft power nationwide and was a leading university in Yunan Province.

The school had two campuses: an old campus located next to Cui Lake in the main city, also known as the ”main campus,” and a newer campus built in the new district south of Ming City, not far from where Su Yajing and her friends attended Cai University.

Due to space constraints, most of Cai University’s departments were located on the new campus, where students spent their first three years. Only fourth-year students nearing graduation returned to the main campus by Cui Lake.

But today, things were a bit different.

Back to 9:30 in the morning, several buses from the new campus rolled into the old campus. Over a hundred students from various departments, spanning first-year to third-year, disembarked in a daze, led by teachers from the youth league and student council officers.

”Ah, this so-called outstanding alumni exchange presentation is actually held at the main campus? I thought they were going to drag us to some auditorium...”

”I didn’t pay attention to the location on the notification either, but who cares, as long as we sign up we can skip a day of military training, only a fool wouldn’t come!”

What’s interesting about university students was how the differences between freshmen and older students were always so clear.

At that moment, two freshmen, still showing signs of naivety and provinciality, were whispering to each other.

There were many like them discussing it, including some older second and third-year students who were surprised about today’s event being held at the old campus.

Even some student council officers with similar collaborative experience were murmuring.

What the heck!

Usually, for the convenience of leaders’ attendance, such events were hosted at the new campus, as nearly all university leaders worked there...

Another odd point was that there had already been a reunion event for alumni returnees during the tail end of summer vacation, which wasn’t that long ago, and now the university was holding another one, and it seemed much more official than last time.

So why not combine them?

It all felt a bit inexplicable...

At this moment, the female teacher leading the group stood atop the stairs, clapped her hands to draw everyone’s attention.

Quite a few students, especially the boys, discreetly sized up the youth league teacher. If the freshmen were here to dodge military training, most of the older students had signed up for a chance to see Teacher Ni, who had started last year.

Dressed in a simple white shirt and black trousers, small heels, and medium-length hair lightly tied up, Teacher Ni’s simple attire made her more striking due to her pretty looks and cool demeanor.

In several ”unofficial school flower selections” initiated by mischievous students on college forums, Ni Hong was the only one historically elected as a ”school flower” with employee status, nicknamed ”Little Ni.”

After getting everyone’s attention, Ni Hong, whose face carried a touch of indifference, raised the megaphone in her hand and spoke:

”Students, if you’ve paid attention to the schedule you should know, today’s exchange event is roughly divided into two parts. In the morning there is a joint session attended by outstanding alumni from recent years, in the form of an outdoor tea party, happening in the great garden starting at ten; I hope everyone can participate enthusiastically, the atmosphere should be nice...”

”Of course, some new students who haven’t been here might want to take this opportunity to visit the old campus, which is technically allowed, the exchange meeting isn’t mandatory, participation is voluntary, but I must specifically emphasize the afternoon event.”

”At 2:10 in the large lecture hall, there will be a personal symposium by some outstanding alumni, and this segment is the focal point of today’s activities, no absences allowed!”

”There will be a sign-in table set at the entrance, any students absent will bear the consequences, and this is the only time I’ll remind you, did everyone hear clearly?”

After Ni Hong finished speaking, the students responded in a chorus, though the more vocal ones were mostly the boys.

”One more thing, during the Q&A session in the symposium, I hope everyone will participate actively, good performance will be rewarded with practical credits...”

This last line from Ni Hong instantly piqued the interest of many older students.

Who knew there’d be credits to earn!

Today’s event was quite high-profile...

...

At 10 a.m., the alumni exchange event formally kicked off in the great garden of Cai University’s old campus. Dressed to impress, Wang Qiaobin signed in at the entrance and strolled inside.

In fact, Brother B was somewhat puzzled.

He never imagined there’d be a day when he’d receive an invitation to an ”Outstanding Alumni Return Exchange Event.”

Moreover, the timing was rushed; it was just the day before yesterday that he received a call from a student officer at the Cai University Youth League. The junior there mentioned the event date and earnestly invited him to attend, even supplementing with an electronic invitation.

Though Wang Qiaobin’s family had some business ventures, he pondered that he himself didn’t have any remarkable achievements...

Be it academically or in terms of personal accomplishments, based on Wang Qiaobin’s past experiences, he shouldn’t be qualified to participate in such an event.

But puzzled as he was, in any case, this was certainly a good thing.

Wang Qiaobin couldn’t wait to share this good news with his dad, nearly getting beaten up for it—
