Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Lin Moyu jerked his hand back.

Gone… the hand was gone.

His soul had been burned away, yet the talent flame only blazed more fiercely, as if his soul itself had become its fuel.

Lin Moyu stood there, stunned. How was he supposed to draw out the talent now?

Although Comprehensive Rebirth could fully restore his soul, it did nothing to solve the real problem: he couldn’t even touch the talent seed.

Thinking back to Antares’s mischievous smile when he told him to give it a shot, Lin Moyu was certain he was hiding something.

His soul main body withdrew from the talent world.

Opening his eyes, pale from the backlash, Lin Moyu said coldly, “What did you leave out?”

Antares looked thoroughly amused, as if he had expected this outcome, “So? How did it feel to have your soul burned away? Did you think you were about to be annihilated?”

“Cut the nonsense.” Lin Moyu snapped, “Just spit it out.”

The look in Antares’s eyes could only be described as shameless.

After laughing for a while, Antares finally relented, “Fine, fine. It’s simple. Your soul isn’t pure enough—that’s why it can’t withstand the talent flame.”

“Once your soul is sufficiently pure and strong, you’ll be able to extract the talent seed.”

Lin Moyu frowned and immediately realized something didn’t add up, “My soul is already extremely pure, with almost no impurities. If this isn’t enough, how is anyone else supposed to manage it?”

He knew his own limits. Calling his soul impure was absurd.

If even he couldn’t do it, then most people in the greater world shouldn’t be able to either.

Antares replied, “People in the greater world have their own methods. There’s something called Soul Armor; it can shield the soul from the talent flame.”

“A pity I don’t have one on me. I’m broke right now.”

“So, brat, if you want to draw out that talent, you’ll have to rely on yourself.”

That didn’t bother Lin Moyu. He had never liked relying on external items anyway. What mattered was how.

“I know you have a solution. Out with it.”

“Simple. Go to the deep layer.”

Lin Moyu paused, “The deep layer? I’m only level 88. Isn’t the requirement level 90?”

At level 90, the gate to the talent world would shrink and harden, making the extraction of talents much harder.

Antares said, “I’ve already thought of that.”

He spat out a Dragon Bead, “Carry this, and you can enter and leave the deep layer freely.”

“In the deep layer, there’s a place called the Burial Ground of Gods.”

“During the great war, many Gods and invaders died there, gradually forming a graveyard.”

“Their soul remnants still wander that place. You need to find the Burial Ground of Gods and eliminate those soul remnants.”

“When soul remnants die, they form soul essence. Feed the soul essence to the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal. It will help enhance your soul grade.”

“Your soul rank is currently at level 95, but by the standards of the greater world, that’s only peak 1st grade.”

“To move a talent, you need at least 2nd grade. To be safe, aim for peak 2nd grade.”

Antares spoke at length, and Lin Moyu committed every word to memory.

The Burial Ground of Gods, it sounded intriguing.

He had planned to enter deep layer eventually.

Now, he would simply go sooner.

As for strength, he had absolute confidence in himself.

Antares warned him again, “Do not lower your guard once you enter the deep layer. Your survival ability is exceptional. Even Transcendent God-level can’t kill you…”

“But there are danger zones there that can trap you forever.”

“Of course, I could pull you out. But the cost would be steep.”

Lin Moyu nodded, “I understand. I’ll be careful.”

The strongest beings in the deep layer were at the Transcendent God-level.

Lin Moyu did not fear them.

What he feared was something else entirely—places that couldn’t kill him, yet could imprison him.

That was the true danger. If he were trapped for decades, everything would be over.

Keeping Antares’s warning in mind, Lin Moyu said, “Alright. Kill me a few times first. Part of my soul has been burned away.”

With his soul damaged, missing an arm, it had a huge impact on his strength.

Antares chuckled, “You should rename your talent. How about self-abuse talent?”

“Less talk. Just do it.”

…

The deep layer felt unlike anywhere else.

Lin Moyu sensed its aura immediately, “The elements here are incredibly dense… and unusual. They carry law aura.”

“While they haven’t reached the level of law manifestation, comprehending laws here should be far easier.”

“With every element present, one could comprehend various laws here.”

“Which means the monsters here likely possess the ability to wield laws as well.”

He observed his surroundings carefully. He couldn’t be sure all of the deep layer was like this, but at least this region could be considered a cultivation holy land, ideal for level 94 to level 95 God-level class users seeking to comprehend laws.

Still, it felt like a missed opportunity.

Due to the curse of the greater world rune, none of his law arts could host external laws.

He could only comprehend the laws inherent to his law arts.

Otherwise, he might have comprehended one or two laws to enhance his law arts.

Before leaving, Antares had explained much about the deep layer.

It resembled a vast map divided into numerous smaller regions.

Some were safe, so safe that even newly advanced level 90 God-level experts would face little danger.

Others, however, were deadly. Even half-step Transcendent God-level could be injured or killed.

The reason lay in its history.

The deep layer had once been a battlefield.

In the previous age, the Gods and human powerhouses had fought foreign invaders here.

The intensity of those battles nearly shattered the laws of the deep layer, leaving behind chaos and numerous danger zones.

Even with his extremely formidable survivability, Lin Moyu had to avoid those areas at all costs.

Whoosh!

A gust of wind swept past, and his Bone Armor shimmered.

The wind carried the law of wind. Though it felt gentle, it held terrifying destructive power.

Countless invisible threads within the wind sliced through the air like blades.

Bone Armor activated, and law art linkage triggered instantly.

A mass of wind appeared ahead—a monster formed purely of the wind element.

In an instant, it was encased in bones. A flash of white light followed as Bone Fangs and Bone Spear tore it apart.

[Killed level 93 Wind Element Law Sprite, EXP +**]

The EXP gain was minimal, barely a fraction of what a Dragon King, Demon King, or boss of the same level would yield.

But the Law Sprite was far easier to kill.

Its health was low, and its attack power was only slightly enhanced by law.

Even an ordinary level 93 God-level class user could defeat it.

The low EXP… Lin Moyu understood why.

But as the Law Sprite disintegrated, the wind suddenly intensified dozens of times.

In an instant, the gentle breeze became a raging gale.
