Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

It was common knowledge that the higher one’s level, the greater the gains from each subsequent advancement.

Once again, Lin Moyu felt that familiar sense of ease and control.

His gaze fell on the final four skill star cores within the skill space. This time, he felt certain he could clear them all out this time.

His soul force condensed into a giant hand that shot forward, seizing one of the skill star cores and giving it a gentle pull.

He clearly felt the resistance.

The binding force of the skill space had concentrated entirely on these last four skill star cores, making it far stronger than before.

Yet before Lin Moyu’s bandit-like soul hand, the binding force was smashed instantly.

He left with the skill star core as easily as plucking fruit from a branch, not even sparing the skill space a backward glance.

If the skill space possessed consciousness, it would have cursed him without end.

As the skill star core entered the soul world, Antares was the most delighted, already raring to go.

Lin Moyu said, “Over the past two years, I’ve gained some insight into the law of undeath. I still can’t wield it freely, but I can already infuse some of its properties into my law arts.”

“I want to test it when you attack.”

Antares agreed readily, “Of course. Go ahead.”

A vast tide of soul force surged into the skill star core. It lit up at once, blazing with brilliant radiance.

By the time the soul force was exhausted, flames flickered over its surface.

The skill star core was already showing signs of evolving into a star.

“Do it.” As he spoke, Lin Moyu cast Bone Armor on himself.

The Bone Armor gleamed with a brilliant white—not ordinary white, but an eerie pallor.

Looking at it could send a chill through the heart. Within that pallid glow drifted a trace of gray mist.

It was the manifestation of law.

Antares said, “Your law carries the aura of death.”

Lin Moyu replied, “The law of undeath is dualistic. This is its death aspect.”

The bone-type law arts death, while the summon-type law arts embodied life. Together, they formed the complete law of undeath.

Antares struck down with a slap, “Then let me test it.”

He used True God-level power, along with soul tracking.

From past experience, two strikes were enough to trigger Lin Moyu’s Comprehensive Rebirth talent.

Even with Bone Armor, the outcome should have been unchanged.

After all, Bone Armor’s defensive limit depended on soul rank.

With Lin Moyu’s soul at level 94, even enhanced by the four-star law art system, its defense should not exceed level 96.

Its foundation was too weak. Even doubled, it should not withstand a True God-level attack.

And as expected, Bone Armor shattered almost the instant the strike landed.

But at the moment of collapse, the four-star law art system triggered.

Bone Prison erupted around Antares, followed by Bone Fangs and Bone Spear.

White light exploded, accompanied by metallic clashing sounds.

Bone Armor reformed around Lin Moyu, only to shatter instantly under Antares’s strike.

Bone Prison, Bone Fangs, and Bone Spear erupted once more.

The four-star law art system entered a relentless cycle.

In less than 0.01 seconds, from the moment Antares’s attack touched the armor until it finally reached Lin Moyu, Bone Armor triggered three times.

The four-star law art system activated three times as well.

By the time the strike landed on Lin Moyu, its power had been significantly weakened.

The undead army should have collapsed three times. This time, it collapsed only twice.

“The attack power dropped by one-third…”

“My attack was offset by your law by a full one-third.”

“That’s impossible.”

Shock covered Antares’s face.

The power of a True God-level attack had been reduced by one-third.

Lin Moyu’s law wasn’t even complete, and the law aura woven into his law arts was still faint… Antares could sense that clearly.

And yet, despite that, it had reduced the power of a True God-level strike by one-third.

Lin Moyu said, “From my understanding of the law of undeath, its death aspect can plunge all things into deathly stillness. And by all things, I mean both tangible and intangible.”

“People, objects, attacks, laws… anything can be affected by the law and fall into deathly stillness.”

Antares let out a strange cry, “All things can fall into deathly stillness… A law of death? How can such a terrifying law exist?”

Lin Moyu replied, “Look at the place where you were struck.”

“What’s there to see? A minor attack like that couldn’t possibly harm me.” Antares scoffed.

Such a minor strike should have been incapable of wounding him.

“Just look.”

At Lin Moyu’s insistence, Antares checked.

His body was so enormous the earlier assault hadn’t even covered a single scale.

Then Antares cried out in shock.

Something clattered to the ground.

Through the swirling mist, a massive scale tumbled free from Antares’s body.

It was decayed, stripped of all luster.

The life force within it had been extinguished.

In other words, the scale was dead.

A scale still attached to Antares’s body had somehow died—utterly inconceivable.

This was the death aspect of the law of undeath: it could erase the life force of all things.

Antares was shaken, “No wonder I felt nothing. That scale was already dead.”

“Brat, your law combines offense and defense. It is already immensely powerful. You don’t need to rely on other laws to support your law arts. Master the laws inherent in your law arts, and it will be enough.”

He meant Lin Moyu shouldn’t spread himself too thin. Better to master one path than become mediocre in many.

Lin Moyu nodded, “I’ll continue comprehending the law of undeath. As for the law of time… if I have time, I’ll study that as well.”

How could he ignore a first tier law?

In his soul world, the skill star core blazed fiercely, now fully transformed into a fireball.

The law art star was about to form.

Antares stared fixedly at the fireball.

He had only four more chances to observe the tiny black dot. If he missed them, he might never get another opportunity.

He focused completely, not daring to let his thoughts wander for even an instant.

Boom!

With a violent burst, a law art star rose from the fire.

At the same moment, a mysterious sensation spread through Lin Moyu’s body.

“Status Immunity!”

“The final passive skill.”

Only when a passive skill transformed into a law art star did it produce this feeling.

Passive skills were permanent, always active.

And once elevated into law arts, this was even more true; they became a part of the very soul.

[Status Immunity (100% fusion rate): the user and their summons are immune to all negative statuses, including law arts, formations, barriers, curses, and laws.]

On the surface, the change seemed minor. In reality, it was enormous.

Previously, Status Immunity had mainly applied to curse-type skills. It did not cover formations, barriers, or laws.

Now everything had changed.

After evolving into a star-grade law art, it granted immunity not only to negative effects from formations and barriers but even from laws.

Lin Moyu was delighted, yet he remained clear-headed.

The law art was not omnipotent.

The Dragon Emperor’s formation, for example, did not inflict a negative status. It compressed the air itself, producing a binding effect.

That kind of restraint could not be negated.

Powerful as the law art was, he still could not be careless.

Lin Moyu glanced at the blazing law art star and then charged into the skill space once more.
