Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The Human World had returned to peace once again.

And this peace would not be short-lived.

The Dragonkind had been thoroughly crippled. Only a few stragglers remained, insignificant enough to be wiped out at any time.

The Bloodkind catastrophe had inflicted significant losses upon the Shenxia Empire.

Final statistics indicated that more than twenty million people of the Shenxia Empire perished during the disaster. Among them, one-third were combat-type class users.

Some died in battle. Others were wounded and later mutated. These mutations were infectious; anyone injured by a mutated individual would become infected as well, creating a devastating chain reaction.

Then came the final blood curtain, driving many people into madness and death.

In total, the population declined by nearly ten percent.

Had it not been for the Shenxia Empire’s Eternal Great Wall, the casualties would have been far worse.

Yet with the disaster over, the entire Human World now belonged to the Shenxia Empire.

Anyone who was not a pure Shenxia person had been transformed into a blood slave by the Bloodkind’s secret methods, only to eventually explode within the blood curtain and help summon the Blood Ancestor’s clone.

Now, the blood-soaked land was recovering. The monsters inhabiting the land were respawning.

Every dungeon in the world fell into the Shenxia Empire’s hands.

With such enormous resources, population growth was inevitable. And with a growing population, geniuses would naturally emerge.

Within a few years, the Shenxia Empire’s strength was destined to undergo a world-shaking transformation.

From a certain perspective, the disaster had also brought opportunity.

The only enemy remaining was the Abyss Demons.

Once the Abyss Demons were dealt with, true peace could begin.

Orders poured from the imperial palace one after another, setting the entire nation into motion.

…

In the soul world, blazing star shone high above.

Two years passed in the blink of an eye.

Lin Moyu’s soul had become increasingly pure.

Each day, the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal exhaled refined soul force, gradually expelling impurities.

His soul now possessed a crystal-clear appearance.

Above it, a law flowed slowly.

The law of undeath.

Over the past few days, Lin Moyu had gained new insights into it.

The law resembled a fine thread, weaving in and out of his soul without cease.

His soul had long adapted to its presence, showing almost no reaction.

Even when he actively mobilized the law of undeath, it no longer harmed his soul.

With a slight tremor, Lin Moyu withdrew his will. His soul opened its eyes.

Both soul and body radiated light.

He had leveled up again, reaching level 88.

The Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal released a resonant roar, as if celebrating.

With the law manifested before him, Lin Moyu’s comprehension was astonishingly fast and smooth.

Advancing from level 87 to level 88 had taken only two years.

Of course, that was still nothing compared to leveling by killing monsters.

With enough monsters, he might have done it in a couple of days.

But the rewards were entirely different.

Though it took a hundred times longer, he gained a deeper understanding of the law, while his soul evolved to accommodate it.

The soul became purer, and his soul force grew more refined.

Every change delighted Lin Moyu.

“Brat, how did you level up so soon again?” Antares sounded strange, almost envious.

Lin Moyu smiled, “Why aren’t you comprehending the law of time anymore?”

Antares shook his head, “Don’t you understand balancing work and rest?”

Lin Moyu snorted, “You think I’d believe that?”

Antares had once said law comprehension normally took decades, centuries, even longer.

Now the manifested law of time sat right before him—a supreme opportunity for any powerhouse.

How could Antares stop after so little time?

Unless… He couldn’t comprehend it all.

Lin Moyu’s expression turned odd, making Antares feel uncomfortable.

Antares gave a cold snort, “Fine. I’ll tell you the truth. I can’t comprehend your law of time.”

Lin Moyu blinked in surprise, “Why?”

“Same reason I can’t comprehend the law of undeath. The manifested law of time carries your personal will. Only you can comprehend it.”

The law of time had been formed through law arts stars, and those were saturated with Lin Moyu’s soul force. They were his private domain.

Naturally, any law manifested through them bore his personal will.

And once a law carried personal will, no one else could grasp it, not even if it was manifested right before them.

That was why Antares could not comprehend the law of undeath either.

Lin Moyu asked, “Is there no other way?”

Antares replied, “None. Laws are inherently twisted things. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be so difficult to master.”

“Enough of that. You’ve leveled up—go and move your skill star cores. Let me blow off some steam.”

Lin Moyu smiled, “No rush. Tell me about the humans first.”

“The humans? They’re doing well. The world now belongs entirely to you Shenxia people.”

“Honestly, you human breed astonishingly fast. The population has exploded in just a few years.”

Lin Moyu froze. The whole world belonged to the Shenxia people?

“What about the others?” He asked.

Antares answered casually, “Dead. All of them. They were blood slaves for the Bloodkind. Without that purpose, what use were they?”

His tone carried disdain whenever he mentioned the Bloodkind.

Lin Moyu frowned. The world’s population had once exceeded a billion, while the Shenxia Empire held only two hundred million.

That meant more than eight hundred million people had perished.

The Bloodkind’s methods were truly ruthless.

Yet on the scale of the greater world, such a tragedy was almost trivial.

Entire races went extinct from time to time; even the destruction of entire worlds was hardly rare.

Still frowning, Lin Moyu asked, “First came the Dreadbeast, then the Demons, the Dragonkind, and the Bloodkind. Even a Soulkind has appeared. What keeps drawing them to our world? Is there something special about it?”

Antares chuckled, “It is somewhat special. The fools of a previous age sought their own destruction and brought misery upon yours.”

“As for what makes this world special… it’s nothing extraordinary. You’ll learn later.”

Lin Moyu said irritatably, “Can you stop being so mysterious? Everything is always later. Don’t you get tired of that?”

Antares sighed, “Fine, I’ll tell you. Something was placed inside the world core. A valuable treasure, one coveted by powerhouses of every race. But to obtain it, one must first become world lord.”

“And this is a closed world, protected by the rules of the greater world. Do you understand now?”

Lin Moyu immediately grasped the implication.

Because the world was sealed under the greater world’s rules, beings too powerful could not enter.

Though some unequaled powerhouses still had their methods, this world also contained Antares.

That changed everything.

The races could only compete within the rules, turning the world into a vast treasure hunt.

Antares had become a kind of referee. The moment anyone tried to break the rules, he would intervene.

Lin Moyu murmured, “Treating an entire world as a game… who could be so vile?”

“Don’t… don’t say such nonsense! You can’t speak of that person that way.” Antares cut him off sharply, a flicker of fear crossing his eyes.

Lin Moyu had only seen Antares react like this once before—when the old man riding the green ox was mentioned.

This was the second time.

Clearly unwilling to say more, Antares waved him off, “Hurry and move your skill star cores. This discussion ends here.”
