Pillar of Yita

When the spear cavalry unfolds on the battlefield, people usually understand how they got their name—these constructs clad in black helmets and armor, holding black-painted metal long spears, move in pairs on the battlefield, orbiting Twilight’s forces in circular or pendulum motion. They resemble spear cavalry galloping back and forth on the battlefield, and whenever the light spears are fully charged, they launch an attack on the Twilight Guild’s lines.

Orange beams flash in the darkness and disappear as the light rain hits the shields erected by the magic conduits, turning into golden raindrops like splattering molten steel. Each Sunflame Ray deals 125 points of damage, with three detonation matrices in each light spear, combining to inflict a damage of up to 375 points, even surpassing the attack power of dragon hunters. Not to mention anything else, the power is immense, but there’s no precision to speak of, they have no aiming capability and can only fire a volley of rays in an approximate direction—whether they hit or not, it doesn’t matter.

More than twenty spear cavalry, attacking every twelve seconds, are sure to hit something. Especially when dealing with shields or large targets like floating ships, they are particularly useful. They don’t even have autonomous attack capabilities; Fang Hong has installed a feedback device on the light spear’s energy storage crystal, and each feedback device is specifically numbered. Every time the energy storage crystal is fully charged, the feedback device sends a signal through the system to him, and he only needs to order the corresponding numbered spear cavalry to attack.

But because of this, the spear cavalry take up little of his calculative power, even less than the fire giant. He barely needs to control these things, except to issue attack orders or proactively let them change patrol modes. Therefore, the spear cavalry whizzing back and forth on the battlefield are actually a group of automated constructs, but the people of Twilight mistakenly think these constructs are also under Fang Hong’s control, which is somewhat terrifying.

Not to mention them, even that Papalar girl is somewhat awestruck, watching the large number of constructs cooperating in combat on the battlefield with a gaze of amazement. She’s never before seen this many constructs working together in battle—except for the Clockwork Fairy. Her teacher’s friend, although also a top combat artisan, has never demonstrated such a spectacle before her.

”Looks like we’ve encountered an impressive senior.”

The girl thought, but this senior’s voice is unexpectedly youthful, like a teenager’s.

She tightened her grip on the long halberd in her hand and nodded, the power of justice is ever-growing, which is a good thing.

Alice, deep in the forest, was making a broad critique of the senior in the girl’s mind: ”... You said when they unfold on the battlefield, people would understand how they got their name, but after watching for so long, shouldn’t they be called ranger cavalry instead? If you say it’s because they use long spears, that would be reasonable enough.”

Fang Hong’s face darkened, as this name was a proud creation in his mind, he immediately retorted: ”But it sounds imposing, and that’s enough.”

”Ranger cavalry isn’t bad either.”

”Very bad.”

Alice tiptoed and patted his head: ”Are you still a child?”

Fang Hong: ”...”

But no matter what they’re called, they are a nightmare in the minds of the people of Twilight at this moment. Although if they observed carefully, they would find these constructs not only have pitiful attack accuracy, but also very rigid movements, often only having one or two movement patterns. They have some evasion capability, but it is very weak. However, the key issue is—they are too many.

A sixth-circle spell does excessive damage for a level 20 character, and even if it only has a 20-30% hit rate, when facing a damage output that shields cannot withstand, the first thought is not to cancel the shield—but to increase the shield output and not stop.

An illusory sense of safety is sometimes very important to people, especially when a volley of twenty to thirty rays is coming over, almost always taking one person away, so who is willing to be next? To put it bluntly, this is not a cost-effectiveness issue, but one of how to maintain morale.

The intense barrage leaves them no time to consider anything else, just defending is already extremely strenuous.

But sooner or later, the magic power output from the magic guided conduits will run dry, although the alchemists in the team have already replaced a round of mana storage crystals for them, and he himself is also doing his utmost to recharge the crystals. However, even the E-type magic guided reactor of an alchemist has its limits on the main crystal’s power supply.

They hadn’t thought of counterattacking, but couldn’t break through—don’t forget there’s also a Sword of Paradise on the opposite side, that Papalar girl standing outside with a long halberd is no pushover, not a single one among their team can match her in a duel, even two against one wouldn’t work. But sending more people in, do they really think the opposing combat artisan is a fool?

Moreover, what truly fills them with despair is the craftsman’s control ability in the forest—how many flexible constructs can he control? Over twenty spear cavalry are galloping about on the battlefield, and those four dragon hunters in the forest are not idle—for the people of Twilight, those are the true sharpshooters, hidden soldier hunters—when they let their guard down slightly, the other side can precisely take someone out.

This is a level 40+ alchemy big shot joking with them using level 20-ish constructs?
