Pillar of Yita

Eteliria nodded, releasing him as she struggled to get up from the ground. It was only then that Fang Hong noticed that her left calf was a bloody mess, with a huge gash cut by a sharp rock. He got up from the ground without a word and said to Elf Miss, ”Miss Eteliria, I’ll carry you out.”

But Elf Miss just looked at him and shook her head plainly, ”You can’t carry me.”

”What do you mean I can’t carry you!?” Fang Hong was anxious. Miss Sicape was even heavier than Miss Eteliria, yet he had carried her before, hadn’t he? But at this moment, the square hall suddenly shook violently again, and Fang Hong himself had to hold onto the wall to stand firm. Sand and dust fell all around, the cracks in the ceiling above were widening, and it seemed it would soon collapse as well.

The underground hall was entirely supported by an arch structure; once the arch collapsed, the entire upper part of the cave would crumble down, and those remaining below would definitely die.

Even though in Eteliria, everyone has starlight, it’s precious and hard to come by. If possible, Fang Hong certainly didn’t want any of the people around him to lose their starlight for nothing, especially those natives like Hilveld, Eteliria, the big catfolks, and Bakins.

Fang Hong understood what Elf Miss meant. At this urgent moment, carrying her, with his strength level, he might not be able to rush out of this place in a short time. The greatest possibility is that both would die here together. But Fang Hong had never calculated gains and losses in this way; he had his own way of judging right and wrong.

His mind heated up, he steeled his heart, and regardless of whether Eteliria agreed or not, he went over, took Eteliria’s hand, squatted down, and placed this Elf ’sister’ on his back. Throughout the process, Eteliria surprisingly did not oppose, she just silently, without saying a word, watched his actions with emerald green eyes.

”Lower your center of gravity, it’ll save some energy, Ade,” she softly reminded.

Fang Hong nodded vigorously.

Eteliria leaned her head against her brother’s shoulder, took off her short sword and various potion pouches from her belt, and threw them to the ground to lighten his load. The long spear she had left on the ground earlier, she glanced in that direction but didn’t mention it again.

And Fang Hong carried Eteliria and looked ahead—two of the four passages were already sealed off, and the upper level—the hanging gallery they had previously descended had long since collapsed, making returning impossible. Now there were only two possible routes to choose from.

He only hoped for a bit of good luck—

Eventually, he chose the southern passage because the south was closer to the direction of the City Hall that Bunigu had mentioned. Although it was still unclear what had happened outside, causing such upheaval underground, he definitely had to go to Idus’s City Hall.

Carrying Eteliria, Fang Hong somehow summoned a burst of strength, gritting his teeth and sprinting forward. At this moment, the whole hall was already on the verge of collapse, with loud crashes all around, the ground was unstable. For an instant, he almost lost his balance and fell.

But at this critical moment, Fang Hong reached forward and fired off the flying claw, the glove made a ’ka’ sound as it slotted securely into a crevice in the left stone wall, the cable snapping taut, pulling him back from a state of imbalance. It was just an instinctual reaction, but once he steadied, he was a bit surprised to find that this action could somewhat restore his Balance Value.

Just then, a piece of shattering rock flew at him sideways without even looking in that direction, Fang Hong waved his hand. His Energy Angel, almost simultaneously, also waved backward. With a burst of sparks, it deflected that rock away. Only then did Fang Hong instinctively retract his hand, unable to stop himself from glancing at his hand.

After obtaining the Dragon’s Heart, as his physique improved, his reflexes had also enhanced significantly. However, this improvement wasn’t due to agility but was because his physical abilities finally matched his consciousness.

Of course, these thoughts only flashed through Fang Hong’s mind without hindering him from continuing to sprint forward—the exit of the passage was just ahead, only seven or eight meters away. But as Fang Hong looked in that direction, his heart couldn’t help but tighten, realizing that Miss Eteliria hadn’t been mistaken; with two people, they were just a tiny bit short on time.

His mind raced, already aware they wouldn’t make it in time, yet he still considered whether he could at least get Miss Eteliria across. But Elf Miss, as if seeing into his heart, looked at him with her emerald eyes and quietly said, ”If we go across, we go together. If we don’t, we stay here together.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it immediately dispelled Fang Hong’s idea. Fang Hong knew what kind of person Elf Miss was; if he indeed did that, he would most likely lose this sister. She might not blame him, but would probably leave the Seven Seas Travel Group.

Fang Hong earnestly nodded, speaking no more, only glanced at his Reinforced Glove. However, the left reinforced glove had been used once, dragging the load of two people, the magic power winch was highly likely to overload and burn out. There was still the right-hand flying claw to use, but ’Pride of the Lonely King’ had been mostly damaged in the previous combat with the Dragon Knight; there wasn’t time for repairs.

He was racking his brains without coming up with any solution when suddenly he saw a mass of something flying toward him in the darkness.
