Pillar of Yita

The battlefield suddenly turned into chaos.

Only then did Qing arc through the air, almost simultaneously with his Cross Slash, and crash to the ground, with a cloud of smoke billowing behind — the surviving sky pirate gunslingers on the ground immediately raised their guns, aiming in that direction.

But before they could fire, four beams of bright light converged back from the four corners of the battlefield, like four straight lines, piercing through the crowd, stirring up a shower of blood mist. They swirled and gathered toward the center of the battlefield, recombining and finally landed steadily in Qing’s hand.

Qing walked out from behind the smoke, holding a gun in one hand and a shield in the other.

The battlefield fell silent for a moment, with only one sky pirate screaming and drawing a curved blade to charge at him. But Qing merely glanced in that direction, raised his gun-wielding hand, without any visible movement, the sky pirate instantly flew backward, crashing straight into a building.

Qing then backhanded a slash, and a bright light blade crossed the battlefield, catching the ten or more sky pirate gunslingers off guard, cutting them in half.

The ten-meter-long light blade continued forward, pushing into a ruin, and amidst the rising smoke, the ruins suddenly collapsed.

Seeing this scene, the Blood Shark sky pirates completely lost any desire to fight against this monster, dropping their weapons and turning to flee. Who were they kidding, a Dragon Knight, leave it to common people to confront?

No matter how many lives they had, it wouldn’t be enough to fill this pit.

Seeing this, Qing stopped pursuing, opening a breach here was enough to expand the achievements of the Descendants of Flor. This wasn’t his battlefield alone, he had more important matters to attend to.

The live chat was already abuzz.

The fans didn’t mind whether their revered Invoker was bullying weaklings, what they pursued was fundamentally different from professional summoners, as viewers, they just wanted coolness. And Qing just glanced silently, then took out a Communication Crystal:

”Dongyue, I’ve entered Idus, how’s the situation on your side.”

The crystal conveyed the leader’s voice: ”Qing Team, we haven’t found the target yet.”

He paused: ”But there’s something strange here.”

”Strange things?”

”Some black crystals...” Dongyue lowered his voice: ”Qing Team, I think we found the target...”

Qing lightly raised an eyebrow.

But right at that moment, he heard a sharp shout from the other side of the communication: ”Who’s there!?”

Then there was a shriek, as if something was soaring through the air. He heard a loud crash, someone flying backward, thrown high, and slamming against the wall. Then there was another frantic voice: ”Careful!”

Two sounds of swords clashing, although unseen, Qing could picture the scene of sparks flying. Next came a shriek: ”Energy Angel!?”

And immediately the person corrected: ”No, doesn’t seem like it!”

”It’s a Variant.”

”Wait—”

After a scream, the sound abruptly stopped.

Qing furrowed his brow, asking in a low voice: ”Dongyue?”

But on the other side came the leader’s somewhat bewildered voice, carrying a hint of panic: ”...Wait...you’re Fanric...”

Before he could finish, the light on the Communication Crystal flashed slightly, then completely dimmed. Qing held the crystal, hesitating for a moment, and the live chat was also filled with shocked voices:

”I know Dongyue, although not a brigade member, he’s also a frontline member of the Elite Corps, what’s going on?”

”I know their squad, the lowest level is the newly joined Nightingale, at Level 25.”

”Dongyue’s squad has an average level of over Level 30.”

”All wiped out? Can’t be?”

”Who are they up against?”

Qing reacted quickly, tapping on the Communication Crystal to make the dark crystal light up once more, this time a panicked voice came from the other side: ”...Qing Team?”

”It’s me, Yu Fei.”

”Qing Team, I was looking for you,” the voice replied immediately, like grasping a lifeline. If Fang Hong were here, he would surely recognize that the voice belonged to that Nightingale from earlier: ”I can’t reach Dongyue and his team, I have some urgent information to tell them.”

Qing fell silent for a moment.

He answered: ”They’re gone.”

”What?”

”Who killed you?” Qing asked again: ”Do the sky pirates have a Dragon Knight?”

”No, it’s not,” Yu Fei quickly shook his head: ”Qing Team, I recognized them before I died. It’s not a sky pirate, it’s someone from the Elfendo Council...did you see Fanric’s Dragon Slaying battle, boss?”

Qing nodded.

”It was him...”

”It was him.”

Qing was taken aback for a moment.

Half a year ago, the scene of war in the vast forests of Tarun involuntarily surfaced in his mind. Although he didn’t participate personally in the battle at the Elf Ruins, he knew very well what happened in the battle his allies, Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, had participated in.

The Witch of the Sea, and that boy.

So it was him.

The live chat was filled with exclamations:

”Damn!”

”It’s that Half-Dragon Knight, Dragon’s Alchemist Ade.”

”He’s actually here!?”

”Wait, we’re up against them again?”

”Can’t be right, what level is he? Just half a year ago he was a rookie...how could he be a match for boss Dongyue?”

”Meaning boss Dongyue is tougher than Nikopolas?”

”What kind of comparison is that? Do you even know what happened at Fanric, watching these matches drains power.”
