Pillar of Yita

But he wasn’t stubborn in his views, he just asked: ”What does this prove?”

”It proves that in the Dragon Worship Sect, someone has seen the written description of this ring, but hasn’t seen the actual ring. So based on this description, they reproduced the ring for identification and research, which resulted in such absurd distortions—”

”Wait, what does this have to do with the Dragon Worship Sect, isn’t this something from Mr. Bunigu’s grandfather’s generation?”

Hilveld smiled slightly: ”The Lord Captain’s concern, coincidentally Bakins has had some progress here.”

Then she recounted the conversation between Bakins and Bunigu.

Fang Hong listened quietly, not too surprised in his heart.

He already knew Bunigu hadn’t been truthful with them—

However, Bakins handling this alone surprised him somewhat. It seemed that the Seven Seas Travel Group was full of talents, besides Miss Atira and Mr. Reed being capable, Hilveld and her people were also extraordinary.

At this moment, he felt a sense of urgency as the ’half-hearted Captain and Ship Captain’.

Yet Fang Hong agreed with Bakins’ statement.

Bunigu was indeed redundant, actually, if he had directly told them this, they might have helped. But upon reflection, as strangers meeting for the first time, it was normal for the other party not to fully trust them, and he felt relieved.

He looked at the ring in his hand and asked Hilveld: ”Can you confirm it?”

”Eighty to ninety percent sure,” Hilveld replied: ”I’ve been learning noble heraldry and the art schools of Colin Ishurian from a young age, and I have some understanding of aesthetic preferences in different parts of the kingdom. The patterns on this ring should be the work of craftsmen from the Scepter Coast area.”

”I can try to reverse deduce its original written description based on the style of the reproduced patterns, and further infer the original appearance of the object it was modeled after. Of course, I can’t imagine it out of thin air, but seeing the ring itself, I can conclude that there is such a relationship between the two.”

Fang Hong tried to sort out the relationships in this speech. He said: ”So, the ring handed to Bunigu by his brother-in-law was actually reproduced by the Blood Shark Sky Pirates—or by the Dragon Worship Sect based on a description, and used as a substitute for identifying the real object.”

”The Dragon Worship Sect somehow obtained the description of the ring’s appearance, but they hadn’t really seen the ring, hence the distortion. They themselves should be aware of this distortion, so they sought Bunigu’s brother-in-law—a bona fide archaeologist—to identify the authenticity of the ring, preventing ’not recognizing the treasure right in front of them.’”

Fang Hong slightly furrowed his brow.

This explanation almost matched his inference.

The ’Resurrection Faction’ within the Dragon Worship Sect seemed to be in an awkward situation, understanding what happened in Dolifen thirty years ago, yet holding onto some ambiguous information—such as the real location of the Dragon’s Heart and the actual appearance of the ring.

But historically, someone truly experienced all this—

Eve said that thirty years ago someone stole half of the Dragon’s Heart’s power, and that person couldn’t be fictional, especially since Dolifen’s disaster truly happened.

And the ring’s description indirectly indicates that at least someone has seen the ring to write such a description. It’s just unknown whether the written record later fell into the hands of the Dragon Worship Sect, who then reproduced the ring in Bunigu’s possession, and at the same time came here to excavate the legendary ’Dragon’s Heart.’

However, Fang Hong looked at the ring in his hand, feeling doubtful. If someone had seen the ring, then thirty years ago Eve also interacted with that person? But if that’s the case, since the person knew the ring was worn by Eve, why would they specifically describe the ring?

Wouldn’t describing Eve’s image be more straightforward?

Or is there another mystery with the ring?

Fang Hong put away the ring, feeling he’s very close to the truth—Rolin, Deplar, and the ’Resurrection Faction’ within the Dragon Worship Sect, plus the mysterious ’fourth faction’ emerging now, what happened before and after the Dragon Witch’s disaster that caused such factional division?

The answer is clearly buried beneath the yellow sands of these ruins.

Thinking of this, he already had a plan in mind, he looked up and said to Hilveld: ”Bunigu’s brother-in-law certainly wouldn’t hand over this ring to Bunigu for no reason, why would he take that risk? It must be to convey some message to Bunigu—”

”In other words, if the person only wants Bunigu to find him, a letter would suffice. But he used this ring as proof because there must be some more crucial clue on it, fortunately we don’t need to guess what it is, as long as we find the person everything will be revealed.”

”And Miss Eve told me about a place, specifically the underground of the Idus Municipal Hall, now she’s been taken, and I plan to follow the people of the Descendants of Flor to have a look. If I can’t catch them, Miss Atira and I will go to the underground of the Idus Municipal Hall first. After all, Miss Eve repeatedly mentioned that place, there must be some crucial aspect there.”

Fang Hong paused, then added: ”Don’t return to the platform for now. Bunigu’s ring is now in Parker’s hands, Hilveld, do me a favor, you and Mr. Big Cat oversee that matter, please find this person—Bunigu’s brother-in-law.”
