Pillar of Yita

She then looked at Fang Hong and asked: ”So this is the important matter you wanted to talk to me about before, you’re worried about your identity being exposed, so you want me to cover for you?”

Fang Hong nodded, the person he had considered in his mind was exactly this Princess of Silver Weslan. She herself was one of the future cores of Silver Weslan, and appeared more reliable in the eyes of others; moreover, she was present at the time of the Fenris Isle event and had cooperated with the military once, thus it would be easier to gain her trust.

Sophie looked at him: ”Ade, even if your identity is exposed, it wouldn’t really matter.”

”What I worry about is Toragotos,” Fang Hong replied: ”It’s still missing, isn’t it?”

However, he wasn’t being entirely truthful, what he was truly worried about was whether his other identity would be used against him by the Descendants of Flor. On top of that, there was also a lot of trouble with Nikopolas.

Before gaining sufficient power, the best choice was naturally to let the enemy show themselves while he remained hidden — even if it was impossible, at least they would have to find a way to lurk with the enemy in the shadows.

”Alright,” Sophie sighed after hearing this, ”your worries are not without reason, I will help you keep this secret.”

”Thank you, Sophie,” Fang Hong sincerely expressed his thanks, counting the incident on Fenris Isle, this was only the second time they had met, and he had even accidentally killed her once.

Yet this Princess of Silver Weslan did not blame him in the slightest and was willing to keep his secret at her own risk, though she had no reason to do so.

Sophie shook her head, in fact, she didn’t really care much about this matter.

She only frowned slightly, the matter with the Dragonfire Guild was indeed not small, she also felt the seriousness of the problem, and asked: ”So do I need to contact the Stargate Port immediately?”

Fang Hong asked in return: ”Is there a military base nearby?”

Sophie shook her head. South of Sidewind Port, deep inland was Colin Ishurian’s domain, the nearest military base was also hundreds of miles away. Seeing this, Fang Hong understood the answer and also shook his head: ”Then let’s talk about it later, distant water won’t solve the immediate thirst, for now, it’s best to prepare for the current matters.”

”Handling the current matters?” Sophie was a bit surprised, and couldn’t help but look behind: ”Have those people discovered us? Did you see anything through your Clockwork Fairy?”

Fang Hong shook his head. ”No, but it’s only natural that they’ve discovered us, as I had previously sent my Clockwork Fairy with that clerk to see those people. From the relationship between both parties, it seems they’re not meeting for the first time.”

”Are you saying they’re in cahoots?”

”Very likely.”

”...Then this mission might not be so straightforward either,” Atira frowned and said.

Fang Hong nodded in agreement, they had old grievances with the other party when stationed at Masongke Creek, would the other side really be so kind to specifically arrange a mission for them to pass?

Not playing tricks behind their back would already be magnanimous, he didn’t think that young man possessed such forgiveness to repay injuries with virtue.

Sophie seemed to recall the previous situation as well, asking: ”...Is that why you changed your mind at that time?”

Fang Hong nodded.

Tianlan also came to her senses: ”Wait a minute, if those guys are up to no good, why didn’t Brother Ade just flatly refuse?”

”If we refuse them, how will we get through this place?” Sophie tapped her knuckles on Tianlan’s head: ”Silly girl, and even if you refuse at that place, do you think you can just leave safely?”

Tianlan cried out ”Ouch,” holding her head in grievance, and said: ”Gently, Sister Sophie, it’s making me dumber!” But she kept prattling on, showing no signs of truly becoming dumber: ”Yeah... but will they really be so kind? It’s definitely a trap!”

Sophie turned back to ask: ”Then will the ranged contract work?”

”Hard to say, but staying here is always safer,” Fang Hong replied: ”Moreover, this is the Goddess’s contract, I assume they wouldn’t dare play tricks under Lady Roman’s nose, the mission itself might be genuine, we just have to be more careful.”

Sophie and Atira thought for a moment, both felt this was the best way to handle the situation at the time, at least they didn’t conflict on the other side’s territory and successfully cleared the area. Even if the other side had ill intentions later, they at least had the opportunity to respond one by one.

”Then I’ll go notify Lady Kuisu to be vigilant, Lord Captain.” Hilveld then spoke softly to him aside.

”Then be careful.”

She only smiled slightly, nodded gently to him, and turned to leave.

Only Tianlan seemed confused, still muttering to herself: ”But this way, would we not still be doing work for those despicable folks?”

”It’s just finding people, they also have to pay for it—”

”But their intentions aren’t good.”

”That’s their problem,” Fang Hong watched as Miss Ship’s Officer left, adjusting his metal gloves, and replied: ”We never said we would stick to their script, did we?”

The girl frowned deeply: ”But I just can’t stand it, doesn’t that mean those guys are ordering us around, is money that great?”

Fang Hong thought, money really is great.

He looked at her with some amusement, really not understanding what she was troubled about, and made a joke: ”Actually, there might be another way, Tianlan.”

”Really?” Tianlan asked curiously.
