Pillar of Yita

Moreover, the news transmitted from underground Fenris Isle is not good. The Dwarves’ Geological Society went below to explore and reported that although the sinking of Fenris Isle has temporarily stopped, its internal magic power reactions have become active.

This indicates that the catastrophe has only paused temporarily, and the fissures that formed at that time may have already caused internal cracks in the island. Perhaps in just a few decades, Fenris will follow in Aithelin’s footsteps and sink beneath the Abyssal Sea.

In fact, the Colin - Ishurian Royal Family and the Artisan Association have already started considering the gradual evacuation of the tens of thousands of population on Fenris Isle.

When Fang Hong heard this news, he couldn’t help but sigh. Despite his best effort, he could only achieve such a result in the end.

”It’s not your fault, Mr. Knight,” Tata replied calmly. ”Sinking beneath the Abyssal Sea is the ultimate destiny of the Floating Continent. It’s just that Lagatos’s plan prematurely exhausted Fenris Isle’s time...”

Fang Hong remained silent for a moment, fully understanding this fact in his heart.

Very few people know what the initial appearance of Eteliria was like at its beginning—

In the records of the Natives, before mortals established civilization on this land, Aithelin and Eteliria had existed above this Cloud Sea for tens of millions of years.

In the ancient narrative poems of the Fairies, the world was born after a world-shaking battle—after a great will named Yita fell, its massive body transformed into this Floating Continent.

And the greatest blessing Yita gave to the Mortal World was clearly the magic crystal buried deep underground—Guy.

It was Guy’s strength that allowed Eteliria to exist above the Cloud Sea. However, the magic power would eventually be exhausted. In fact, it was only after Aithelin’s disaster that mortals gradually began to realize the continent’s lifespan might not be eternal.

No one knows how long Eteliria can continue to exist: perhaps a thousand years, or perhaps even longer; but it’s also possible that when people open their eyes, they find the magic power within the solid land beneath their feet has started to decline...

And the excessive exploitation of Guy crystals since the Magic Guided Technology revolution was indeed one of the causes of the Floating Continent’s magic power decline.

This is why countless explorers began their quest to find new worlds.

That was the origin of the Second World’s history.

Fang Hong had naturally long heard of the origins of the Second World. At the end of the First World, there is a Bridge of Sky-Reaching leading to the Second World, where above the upper Cloud Sea, there lies a world akin to paradise.

That is Hailin, the Second World.

”What is happening on Fenris will inevitably make people more enthusiastic about the Third World,” Tata softly mentioned another issue: ”In fact, even without Toragotos, the continent’s magic power decline is quite common—”

Fang Hong couldn’t help but recall the abandoned Guy crystal mine he witnessed at Traveler’s Swamp.

Such mines were abundant on the continent during the rise of Magic Guided Technology. But by today, open-pit crystal mines are very rare, and most remaining Guy crystals have penetrated deep underground, with major mines controlled by national powers across the continent.

That is the continent’s foundation—

But completely abandoning Magic Guided Technology is destined to be impossible, as that is equivalent to regressing civilization back to the era of ignorance; the decline in productivity might bring not only the loss of conveniences.

It could also lead to famine, endless chaos, and even the destruction of civilization.

Although the discovery of the Second World once brought people hope, unfortunately, above its Cloud Sea, there are only small Floating Islands, lacking a truly formed continent like Eteliria.

However, pioneers among the explorers and invokers have not come away empty-handed.

Various clues suggest that beyond the Second Continental Bridge, there ought to be a supercontinent, the mythical land of Xu Yi—thus the Gateway to the Third World became a target of contention between countries.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but glance back—behind a thin bulkhead lay Miss Ship’s Officer’s room—someone like her father, Sir Mawei, might have emerged precisely under these historical conditions.

Everything about Fenris Isle is undoubtedly the biggest news of the past two months.

Yet as a witness, Fang Hong actually isn’t too concerned about this matter. After all, the discussions within the community about these messages might be less clear than what he knows.

Moreover, another major event actually occurred last month: the invokers, Stargate Port, and the Alliance Army of Elpaxin repelled an attack from a Dark Giant Dragon in Charter City, marking the first occasion the Colin - Ishurian Kingdom publicly acknowledged that a Dark Giant Dragon still exists in this world.

This news caused quite a stir.

Of course, the most concerned about this are the Invokers; most people are focused on whether if the Dark Giant Dragon has returned, then the legendary five Dragon Slaying Holy Swords and their Guardians might also reappear?

After all, the five Holy Swords are all Semi-Divine Artifact level equipment.

However, only Fang Hong understands that there are only four Holy Swords left in this world—or even fewer.

Still, these two pieces of news haven’t made him pay much attention; he is more concerned about another matter—a small news story that was drowned in the chaotic discussions beneath these two major events.

That little news was released a week ago and is related to him—the Stargate Port finally publicized his information, announcing that a Stowaway may have entered the Stargate.

And according to the news, a related investigation has been launched, the Stowaway’s family information is known, and after obtaining their family’s consent, relatives related to him have been involved in the search work.

Furthermore, three days ago, on the fifth day after Eteliria’s Winter Solstice, the investigation team arrived at Stargate Port.

When Fang Hong saw this news, he almost felt overwhelmed.

He only thought of one thing—

They actually brought my uncle and aunt here!

He couldn’t help but feel a little numb on his scalp, thinking that this time he might be in big trouble.
