Pillar of Yita

He couldn’t help but recall the first lesson ’R’ gave him about Invokers in the community.

What is an Invoker?

A Competitor or an Explorer?

But none of that matters—

”What’s important is the attitude.”

”Attitude?”

”To be precise, it’s about having a correct self-awareness.”

”Only by understanding what your goals are, and how to achieve them, will you not feel lost on your path.”

”But if everything is geared towards the goal, wouldn’t that be too utilitarian? Isn’t that at odds with the pursuit of an Invoker?”

Fang Hong remembered that after asking this question, the person sent a string of laughing emoticons.

”Only the lost become mechanized.”

”Remember, Little Pigeon—whether it’s arrogance and conceit, or timid self-abasement, it’s actually a reflection of not seeing oneself clearly. Because it’s only with inner confusion that one is swayed by external factors. A person whose heart possesses Strength can easily see through gains and losses—”

His avatar in the community was actually a Long-Tailed Sword Sparrow, which in his uncle and aunt’s eyes was the only memento left by his parents. Yet that person stubbornly believed it to be a pigeon and gave him this nickname.

Over time, he was too lazy to refute it.

But the other person was right, as long as you’re not lost, you will never be afraid to move forward.

It was until today that Fang Hong understood the meaning of those words.

Since entering the world after the Stargate, he increasingly felt the significance of that chance encounter in the community. Many things that person said back then now seem like prophetic truths coming to fruition.

But to this day, he’s still unsure of the person behind that ’R’ ID.

He only has a vague feeling that given the other person’s level, they are likely far more than an unknown figure. But among the prominent Invokers, how could any have the leisure to teach him, an informal student, in the community?

Of course, the other person never acknowledged him as a student.

This has become a suspended question in Fang Hong’s heart, and with each passing day, his curiosity about this grows exponentially instead of fading.

Unfortunately, there is no clue, and among the known Invokers, there is none related to the ’R’ ID.

Perhaps it was just a meaningless alias.

The snow fell almost silently.

The temperature was somewhat low, Fang Hong gently coughed, and the nearby Miss Maid took the Alchemist coat from Gita and draped it over him. Fang Hong paused, turned back, and thanked Xiesta, who only nodded indifferently.

Nanfeng, after a brief conversation with them, went on to handle his group’s matters.

He had the previous Musketeer deliver a message, promising them he would testify for them at the Adventurers’ Guild—though guild bounties don’t necessarily require eyewitnesses, having someone willing to vouch speeds up verification.

For Fang Hong and his group, who desperately need time and improvement, this was indeed a timely help in dire straits, for which he thanked them.

”Is Miss Priestess alright?”

The Musketeer shook his head: ”Such things are bound to happen during adventures, it’ll pass in time...”

Fang Hong couldn’t help but recall Miss Priestess shedding tears in front of the Imperial Guard Swordsman’s corpse—because under mind control, the Imperial Guard Swordsman died accidentally at the hands of a strengthened Black Swordsmen to avoid harming her.

And that happened to be his final life in Eteliria.

That’s when he learned, Nanfeng sent this team out to find a way—not only because their Level was relatively low but also because the Archer and Musketeer only had one last chance at resurrection, while Little Fatty and Miss Priestess had only two or three.

And when they chose to confront that BOSS together with him, they were indeed taking on a lot of risks.

But for their team, they still chose to stay.

Perhaps, just as Nanfeng said, this Adventure Group does not maintain much faith, but for those receiving the group’s Shelter, it remains a place of warmth and memories.

Even though Invokers are carefree, they would not easily abandon the chance of survival, and the feelings among people are evidently much more important—Fang Hong knows that the Archer also expressed the intention to stay afterward.

And the same goes for Little Fatty and Miss Priestess.

It’s just that the former, with a bruised face, was too embarrassed to see him, only asking Nanfeng to convey their thanks to Fang Hong and his group.

The Musketeer looked behind him, then said to Fang Hong: ”Perhaps for ’Baldy,’ it might not be a bad thing.”

’Baldy’ was the nickname of the Imperial Guard Swordsman, although Fang Hong didn’t know why he got such a nickname, because despite having an ordinary crew cut, he indeed had short, shallow hair...

But at least he knew from Nanfeng that the so-called ’Baldy’ Imperial Guard Swordsman and Miss Priestess were actually in a romantic relationship, though it had always been an on-again-off-again situation, which perhaps might change after this event.

Fang Hong breathed a sigh of relief.

He didn’t know why hearing this made him feel a sense of comfort.

He just happened to save them unintentionally, partly for the BOSS, but also because of the identity of that Dragon Worship Sect ’Messenger,’ leading to his actions. Though the process was smooth, the Combat itself was indeed precarious.
