Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong had read some materials and records about this family on the community.

During the generation of Tantance Lohnspell of the Rogsel Family, both the duke and the eldest son mysteriously disappeared one after another. Thus, the position of the family head fell to the still-young Tantance. However, Tantance was of a timid character and lived an obscure life.

He had very few offspring, only one son and one daughter. The daughter, due to a childhood accident where she fell off a horse, developed a psychological disease and never married. The only son was Maryland, known as the ”Son of the Night Hawk,” a nickname he earned during a war with the Invoker. However, he gained great fame on the battlefield but died young, leaving behind only a single progeny.

Strangely enough, since the generation of Tantance, the Rogsel Family seemed to have been cursed. Every generation had few descendants, and hardly any ended well. Even Tantance himself died unexpectedly.

Fang Hong continued speaking until the Dolifen incident. Not knowing where this ”Skeleton” stood, he tried to use neutral language to describe how Rockland Rogsel died there.

He suddenly stopped halfway—

The ”Skeleton’s” hollow eye sockets glowed red with some dissatisfaction. ”Why did you stop, are you stalling for time, human?” Its voice was hoarse and unpleasant, a bit grating to the ears.

”Of course not,” Fang Hong shook his head. ”You know, I’m human. Humans are fragile, unlike you who can go without rest. I’ve been talking for so long, I need to catch my breath and rest for a moment.”

But in fact, that wasn’t the case at all.

Fang Hong had seen a white shadow flicker not far in the darkness earlier.

”Now that you’ve rested, continue,” the ”Skeleton” said.

”My team member is very scared, have your servant stay away from her,” Fang Hong replied. ”She’s just a child, and besides, with the two of us here, we can’t escape.”

”Shut up, you’re not in a position to make demands.” Yet, the ”Skeleton” was clearly very cautious. As a Sorcerer-Ghoul, it obviously had a great sense of villainous self-discipline, knowing well that arrogance is the downfall of many villains. Listening to Fang Hong’s request, it instead had the Black Knight move closer to Gita.

Miss Natural Historian was on the verge of tears.

Fang Hong glanced at her, giving her a comforting look. Because with the Black Knight turning around, it was even less likely to notice what was happening behind the ”Skeleton.”

He kept thinking of Gita’s previous description of Daisy, knowing it must have a purpose to appear there. Moreover, Miss Tata should be there too.

Fang Hong continued his tale.

He spoke of what the Dragon Worshippers did during the series of events and how he managed to obtain the bloodline inheritance of the Rogsel Family.

Until finally—

The ”Skeleton” fell silent for a long time before concluding in a hoarse and unpleasant voice: ”Fate is cruel, who would have thought that the Rogsel Family would end up destroyed for such a reason.”

It glanced at Fang Hong with a cold sneer. ”Tantance was indeed weak and incompetent. But his descendants aren’t any better, they even handed the bloodline inheritance of the Rogsel Family to an outsider.”

The ”Skeleton” suddenly raised the magic wand in its hand, pointing it at Fang Hong. ”Do you think by saying this you won’t die, human? Quite the contrary, I loathe those arrogant people of the Rogsel Family the most, especially the descendants of that coward Tantance. Since you accepted the inheritance from his descendants, you can die in their place—”

The purple tip of the wand emitted a dazzling light.

Fang Hong couldn’t move, cursing internally. He thought, are you out of your mind? If you hate the people of the Rogsel Family so much, why are you so concerned about their trivial matters?

Everyone says undead creatures are twisted and insane, and this ”Skeleton” in front of him certainly lives up to it, practically a madman. Fang Hong dared to bet that even if he cursed the Rogsel Family, the ”Skeleton” would still find an excuse to kill him.

It simply held an inherent malice towards the living.

Though Fang Hong was angry, he didn’t panic. He couldn’t move his body, but his fingers could still barely move, and his mind was unimpeded—his thoughts stirred, and a golden light suddenly flew from the darkness, striking the ”Skeleton’s” skull with a ’thud’.

The ”Skeleton” tilted, its curse abruptly stopped. Unfortunately, it was careful enough not to be countered by the undead spell, merely letting out an angry shout: ”What was that!”

It looked towards that direction.

But at that moment, behind the ”Skeleton”, Lady Cat’s figure suddenly appeared—it had climbed up a stone pillar from somewhere, looking down at Fang Hong.

Miss Tata, a small figure, was perched on Lady Cat’s neck, patting Daisy on the ear with her hand. ”Lady Daisy, go!”,

Fang Hong only heard her calm voice.

Daisy arched her body, leaping forward, landing precisely on the unsuspecting ”Skeleton’s” hood. Fang Hong saw clearly, the ”Skeleton” let out a miserable cry as Lady Cat crashed into it, its head tilting and rolling off from its ”body”.

As soon as its bony head hit the ground, the body and robe crumbled as though losing support, collapsing to the floor.

But it wasn’t over yet—

The ”Skeleton’s” eyes flickered with flames, suddenly flying up from the ground, swooping straight at Fang Hong.

At that moment, Fang Hong felt a regained freedom, the paralysis spell on him suddenly disappearing. He instinctively raised his right hand—like some biological defense mechanism—shielding his chest.
