Pillar of Yita

However, there are exceptions. Invokers like to refer to certain high-level antagonist native characters as BOSS, based on experience from some past games. Although the two are not alike, they have certain similarities.

This is because high-level antagonist characters often possess valuable equipment and are much harder to deal with than ordinary monsters. Additionally, humanoid creatures inherently have experience bonuses, so it’s not entirely wrong to call them BOSS.

Invokers also categorize these BOSS, such as the high-ranking cultists of the Dragon Worship Sect, who can generally be classified as BOSS. Below them are the regional leaders and some contacts, who can only be considered as Elite.

This troll named Mountain Kou Ke is rather special. Trolls are naturally considered a powerful wild species and, like Rock Sharks, can potentially become Lord Level creatures due to Ether enrichment.

However, it is also a humanoid creature with a certain level of intelligence and personal experiences, and it even travels with an Undead Wizard. This further underscores its uniqueness. Therefore, it is understandable that the Adventurers’ Guild takes special notice of this kind of BOSS.

Once such a composite BOSS passes through civilized areas, the negative impact can be much greater than that of simple giant beasts. The events that happened three years ago can prove this point.

However, these BOSS cannot truly be like those in some past games, only refreshing or patrolling in a certain area. Their range of activities is quite broad—for example, the furthest record of Mountain Kou Ke reaching near Dulun.

And this applies to trolls, creatures with territorial instincts. Some patrolling creatures’ footprints can reach other continents, such as Rock Sharks. Among humanoid BOSS, their actions are even more irregular, sometimes deliberately hiding their identity.

Therefore, discovering the tracks of Lord creatures is not a simple task. Bounty Hunters thus emerged, and finding BOSS has become a popular profession in Eteliria.

Fang Hong is quite calm about it. If he happens to encounter the troll named Mountain Kou Ke, he wouldn’t mind trying to hunt it. But if he doesn’t encounter it, he doesn’t intend to force it.

After all, in this world beyond the Stargate, there are plenty of opportunities and adventures. As an old saying among those seasoned adventurers goes:

’If you haven’t obtained it, it means it wasn’t meant for you.’

But as long as adventuring continues, there will always be some opportunities meant for them.

At this point, a voice from the Big Catfolk comes from outside the window; it seems they have found a place where Mr. Greyrock can stop and camp. Fang Hong sees that the lights of the Sierra Creek Station are not far away, just about a mile or two from here—

He looks down and sees a Lion Paladin standing in the snow wind, its mane blowing wildly in the wind.

Upon seeing Fang Hong appear near the window, it waved to him: ”Little one, throw down a rope.”

”Are we camping here?”

”It’s a good spot, quite safe,” Reed replied. ”I asked earlier, and it seems there’s no beast pen large enough to accommodate a Grey Ridge Burden Beast in Masongke Town.”

Only then did Fang Hong nod. There was rope in the storage room. He picked up a roll and threw it out the window: ”Catch, Mr. Reed.”

”Thanks.”

Mr. Greyrock slowly came to a halt.

They could be said to have temporarily reached their destination.

Fang Hong turned back, and it was then that Tianlan suddenly remembered something and opened her mouth, saying: ”By the way, Brother Ade, there are actually some clues.”

Fang Hong paused, asking: ”What do you mean?”

”Miss Hilveld previously organized the recent appearances of the troll named Mountain Kou Ke, and it seems to be gradually heading south. Perhaps we might encounter it.”

”That would be great.”

Mountain Kou Ke has historically appeared around Dulun, and it seems to have been patrolling this area continuously, so Tianlan’s words are not without possibility. However, even the forests around the Tibial Creek region alone are vast, let alone the Great Canyon to the south—

While his mindset is correct, he doesn’t purely rely on chance encounters, as that would be too passive. What Hilveld is doing is actually also a method: compiling areas where sightings of the other party have historically occurred to outline a rough action track of this troll.

However, this requires massive amounts of information, and what Lan Wuxin’s group provided is clearly not enough. They still need to investigate at the Adventurers’ Guild at the Sierra Creek Station to see if there are any new clues.

Theoretically, since this BOSS is so well-known here, some information shouldn’t be too hard to obtain.

After sending Tianlan away, Fang Hong tidied up his belongings before heading to the ship’s dining room. The next step is to go to Masongke Town, the last stop before reaching Dulun. Whether it’s replenishing food and materials or hiring woodcutters, preparation is essential.

Therefore, everyone needs to at least hold a meeting to discuss how to distribute the work.

Just before reaching the dining room, Fang Hong encountered the same cat—Miss Daisy—again in the atrium. She stood at the edge of the upper deck, looking down at him with turquoise-like eyes.

As Fang Hong saw the Lady Cat, she leaped down, walking cat-like towards him, circling around his pant leg.

Only then did Fang Hong remember the issue with this temporary crew member that hadn’t been resolved. He bent down, grabbing her by the scruff and lifting her up, ”Just in time, let’s have a meeting together, Miss Daisy,” he murmured.

And the cat seemed quite fearless, quietly being held by the scruff and looking at him curiously.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but marvel at this scene.

This cat was indeed somewhat unusual.
