Pillar of Yita

Hilveld was already accustomed to such looks, so she merely gave a slight smile and then cast an inquiring glance at Atira, asking whether Fang Hong and Bakins had returned.

The Elf Miss shook her head: ”Ade and the others are still in the lower cabin.”

Hilveld only then nodded lightly.

Meanwhile, the young man was staring straight at Hilveld’s face, naturally noting the detail and feeling a surge of vigilance in his heart, but he did not show it, merely feigning curiosity as he asked Atira beside him: ”Excuse me, is this Mr. Ade also someone on the ship?”

Lan Wuxin couldn’t help but frown at this moment; the question was quite rude. The other party had pulled them up at a crucial time and allowed them onto the ship. As guests at this moment, they clearly shouldn’t be asking too many questions.

Others clearly realized this too, and their faces showed a hint of displeasure.

Only Tianlan, without waiting for Atira to answer, turned her eyes as she replied: ”Yes, he’s our ship’s Alchemist; when Brother Ade first joined the team, he was just an Apprentice Alchemist.”

The young man froze for a second upon hearing this, and it was only with difficulty that he managed to suppress the excitement in his heart — he almost wanted to shout ’god bless’ in his mind; this coincidence was too much.

The other party turned out to be an alchemist just like him, and moreover, just an Apprentice Alchemist. But he was different; he not only had the backing of a fairly good guild but was also a student of Master Pudra from the Dulun Artisan Guild — a student of Master Pudra was definitely a golden signboard south of the Great Canyon.

Of course, the identity of this student came from a guild recommendation letter, but that was not important.

His journey to Tibial Creek was actually for Troll Mountain Kou Ke, but he was impatient waiting for the guild’s team, so out of boredom, he joined a team searching for Mountain Kou Ke’s whereabouts, hoping to get some firsthand information.

Yet he didn’t expect to encounter such a situation; the team’s incompetence was beyond his imagination, almost costing him everything.

But he didn’t expect, misfortune followed by blessing, to encounter such a team; he felt the floating platform of such a scale, coupled with the maintenance needs of so many Magic Guided Conductors, certainly couldn’t be managed by just one Apprentice Alchemist.

As long as he presented himself as a student of Master Pudra, the other party would have to consider it, wouldn’t they?

As for how he would further push that guy named Ade aside afterwards, he naturally had his methods —

Thinking of this, the young man was filled with infinite hope, finding even Tianlan, who provided this information, intensely adorable, and then he stood up confidently and spoke:

”I see, speaking of it, I’m also an alchemist, do you guys still need an alchemist with the team?”

”Madel, watch yourself,” Lan Wuxin suddenly stood up, cutting off the young man — not to mention the other’s intentions were too obvious, making him somewhat nauseous; furthermore, the other was nominally still in his team, though it was just a temporary team, but the remarks really ignored him as Captain: ”Don’t forget I’m your Captain.”

The young man spread his hands upon hearing this; he didn’t really dare to defy the team’s covenant — Lady Roman’s attention was not to be taken lightly, and only answered with a bit of disdain: ”Alright, alright, Captain sir, I don’t need you to remind me of that. But I do need to think about the future, our covenant is only up to the Masongke Creek base —”

Lan Wuxin moved his lips, intending to say something else, but at that exact moment, suddenly, everyone heard a loud bang.

The people in the meeting room all turned simultaneously, seeing the tightly closed door of the lower cabin outside the window of the deck suddenly fly up with a ’bang’, tumbling and hitting the stern behind, swirling in the snow before disappearing into the darkness beyond the platform in an instant.

Then a Flying Claw shot out from below, dragging a long cable, with the claw’s front seemingly grabbing a silhouette, slamming fiercely onto the wooden wall outside.

After the loud bang, the entire meeting room shook slightly.

”Vampire!”

A few adventurers instantly drew their swords nervously — they naturally saw clearly, the one grabbed by the Flying Claw was a Vampire. Among those long adventuring in the Tibial Bone Forest, how many haven’t suffered at the hands of a Vampire?

These High Rank undead were also one of the few greatest taboos in this forest area, and nobody wished to encounter these beings in the wild.

But what Lan Wuxin and the others hadn’t expected was that the Vampire suddenly cried out in agony, as if it had encountered something terrifying, scattering into countless bats after a collision and flew far away.

And on the scene was left only the Flying Claw with the cable, and it swayed slightly under everyone’s gaze before slowly retracting to the lower cabin, from which a faint ’click’ sound could be heard.

Everyone opened their mouths.

They had seen Flying Claws before, but one that moved on its own was evidently not the kind they usually encountered — moreover, it clearly looked like a somewhat hefty metal glove, would anyone commonly use such a thing for a Flying Claw?

Only Lan Wuxin suddenly understood what that thing was.

Flexible Construct —

But the others clearly reacted quickly too, they simultaneously thought of a possibility and blurted out: ”...Combat Artisan!?”

In the meeting room, the alchemist took a step back, his face subtly darkened, and suddenly realized the script wasn’t unfolding as he had imagined.

Unless, there was a third alchemist on this ship.
