Pillar of Yita

Actually, Fang Hong always thought she looked better with this head of golden hair, more like herself, beautiful as if from a fairy tale.

The coat draped over Hilveld had already fallen halfway, revealing her delicate shoulders beneath, with only a thin shirt inside. The girl’s snow-white neck faintly visible under the light.

Fang Hong suddenly felt a bit guilty, discreetly shifting his gaze, walked over, and convinced himself it was just out of kindness, picking up the coat and covering her again.

But Hilveld seemed to remain alert, sensing someone approaching, she grabbed Fang Hong’s hand—startling him. Fang Hong instinctively wanted to pull back, but found that Miss Ship’s Officer hadn’t woken up, merely holding his hand against her cheek, mumbling something softly.

But Fang Hong didn’t quite catch it.

He simply looked at Hilveld’s appearance, and couldn’t help but feel a tenderness inside, letting the girl rest on his hand, her noble lady’s face was cold, like a block of ice. While his hand was burning, like a furnace.

The ship swayed gently with the wind and snow, the raging wind howling outside, but inside the cabin, it was momentarily quiet, Fang Hong only heard the strong beating of his own heart, pounding, his face seemingly a bit hot as well.

It was at this moment, Hilveld murmured vaguely, like a purring cat, slowly opening her eyes—her eyes were extremely beautiful, clear and deep, with a touch of verdant and light blue under the light, like a clean lake.

Just a hint of laziness from just waking up—

The glow of the crystal lamp made her gaze withdraw a bit, she gradually saw the hand next to her cheek, and the person standing beside her. Feeling the warmth on her neck, a sly look flowed from the girl’s beautiful eyes, her lips curved with a teasing tone as she asked:

Her voice was raspy.

”What is Lord Captain doing?”

”Slept late?” Fang Hong asked in return.

Hilveld let out a small yawn and then nodded.

She reluctantly released Fang Hong’s hand, as if it truly were a warm hand warmer, then she sat up, using both hands to sweep back her waterfall of golden hair, letting it spread out like a river of light, sparkling.

Fang Hong was almost entranced by the sight.

Hilveld tilted her head, teasing him: ”Does it look good?”

Fang Hong did not deny it and nodded.

”I’ve been growing this hair for years,” Hilveld smiled slightly: ”If the captain thinks it’s pretty, then I’ll keep it for a few more years.”

Fang Hong thought it would be best if it stayed the same forever.

Hilveld suddenly turned around, raising her hands: ”Xiesta’s not here, would the Lord Captain help me?”

”Me?” Fang Hong was taken aback.

”Is it not allowed?”

Fang Hong felt that saying ’yes’ might be inappropriate, but saying ’no’ would mean being worse than a beast.

He kept silent, but still picked up the coat from the floor and draped it over her. Hilveld smiled cheerfully, saying nothing, and turned around, watching the big, clumsy boy carefully button them for her.

The girl’s heart was somewhat apprehensive too, aside from Xiesta, this was still the only time she let down her guard and allowed a stranger to come so close.

But she glanced down, and couldn’t help bending over with laughter:

”The buttons are misaligned, my Lord Captain.”

”Ah?”

Fang Hong blushed instantly, feeling that he had made a fool of himself.

The two didn’t speak again, just that the atmosphere inside the cabin was quiet and ambiguous, Fang Hong suddenly understood something in that moment—he wasn’t actually dumb, he naturally understood what had long been clear in his heart, but he just never thought about it.

When they left the officer’s cabin, Bakins leaning against a side porthole outside couldn’t help but glance at the two, although there seemed to be no different than usual.

But the subtle details of interaction between the young man and woman were hard to hide from someone like him—

The old Bosun couldn’t help but smile, saying to Fang Hong, ”Nice blade, Captain, thank you.”

Fang Hong nodded apprehensively.

Even though he didn’t quite know what he was feeling guilty about.

In the adjacent storeroom, Xiesta was diligently arranging her flower bed with a shovel—that poor Marigold only had time to bloom once before leaving Golande, soon withering in the wind and snow.

But this didn’t interfere with Miss Maid’s work, Fang Hong couldn’t help but remind her: ”The Marigold withered not because you didn’t turn the soil, Miss Xiesta.”

The maid replied seriously: ”I know.”

Then picked up a copper kettle and started watering in the wind and snow.

Fang Hong was speechless.

Hilveld laughed happily behind the two of them.

Outside, Tianlan was complaining to Luo Yu, saying there were mice in the warehouse, her voice on edge. Luo Yu asked her why there would be mice on the ship? Tianlan suggested they might have sneaked in with the cargo.

Fang Hong then pushed the door open, the wind and snow blowing in—Luo Yu and Gita were familiarizing themselves with the new Magic Guided Reactor on the deck, a crystal Wind Lantern hanging beneath the airbag, swaying in the wind, its dim light barely illuminating a spot on the deck.

When the two saw him come out, they quickly turned to greet him, while Tianlan said loudly from the side, ”Brother Ade, you’re just in time, there’s a rat infestation on the ship!”

Fang Hong was startled: ”A rat infestation?”
