Looking at the page Winter handed over, Serea could feel its extraordinary power, and used Appraise...

Fragment of the Holy Bible of Light (golden): Possesses an extremely strong light attribute, can substitute for a magic scroll to carry various powerful magic.

Holy Bible of Light!

Wasn’t that a divine relic of the church? Why would this Holy Knight have it?

System: ’Fragment of the Holy Bible of Light’ is merely a portion extracted from the ’Holy Bible of Light’ itself, a single-use item.

”So that’s how it is.”

Understanding the function of that yellow page, Serea accepted it.

”Miss Elf, we can never forget your great kindness. Now, you should leave quickly—I’ll cover your retreat!”

With that, winter drew another yellow page from his battle armor, the second fragment of the Bible!

At the same time, a powerful mental power locked onto the group.

”Trying to leave?”

The moment they were locked by that mental power, Serea immediately looked toward the jungle, spotting countless dark shadows rushing toward them, and the Undead suddenly burst into chaotic action.

”Aaaah!”

One after another, zombies and Skeletons charged forward, only to be Purified by the fragment of the Holy Bible of Light. With every Undead purified, the holy light power on the fragment would weaken a little, and soon the fragment would become just an ordinary white sheet of paper.

”Damn.”

Seeing this sudden offensive from the enemy, winter quickly raised the second fragment high and began reciting loudly.

”My body came into this world, walked upon the earth, willing to wield the sword in my hand to cut down all filth—here, in the name of the Goddess of Light...”

However, before his chanting could be completed, the fragment in Serea’s hand lost its radiance. As Holy Light Protection disappeared, a horde of Undead charged, and just as Winter’s fragment was about to light up with a new holy light—

”Ah!”

The severely wounded Holy Knight suddenly rose up, fangs and claws extending, controlled by some unknown force. He tore at the fragment with his claws.

Screech!

The fragment was shredded into countless pieces, and its light dimmed.

The suddenly rampaging Holy Knight still tried to attack Winter, but was restrained by the female Knight.

Ignoring his own companion’s bestial struggles, winter hurriedly picked up the scraps, frantically trying to reassemble the fragment.

”Damn—there’s no time.”

Distant shadows rushed frantically closer, so he abandoned the scrap pieces, drew his knight’s sword, and prepared to fight.

The shadows emerged: an unfamiliar host of monsters! Their skin was deathly pale, eyes blood-red; with sharp fangs and claws. Used Appraise...

Blood Kin! Level 24, bronze elite!

All of them wore gold-and-silver-plated knight’s armor—it was the griffin Knights from before, but now, why had they all changed so?

But now was not the time for questions. As the Blood Kin surged forward, Serea’s blood slaves gathered protectively around her.

”Protect the Queen!” xN

Knowing these foes were no easy task, maro and the others immediately activated Blood Burn. In the Blood Burn state, each of them seemed demonically crazed—just like those Holy Knights transformed into Blood Kin.

A glance at the recently rampaging Holy Knight made it clear he too, like the Blood Kin, was being controlled. And the power controlling them was—

Blood!

Serea’s eyes flickered with realization.

”Camilla, control those monsters!”

”Huh?”

”Control those monsters!”

”Oh, yes!”

Coming to her senses, Camilla faced the surging Blood Kin, entered her Vampire form, and then—

Blood Slave Manipulation!

”Aaaaa!”

The Blood Kin fell to their knees midway, clutching their heads in agony, veins bulging as they seemed to withstand severe pain.

”What...”

Witnessing this, winter and the female Knight were both stunned. They stared at Camilla, then cried out:

”She’s a monster just like that demoness from before!”

Camilla was baffled, but Serea caught a key word:

”Demoness?”

Just as she said this, a young girl dressed in a black robe and veiled in black gauze appeared a short distance away.

”Hehehe, not bad—to be able to control my little darlings. You have great potential.”

The girl looked to Camilla, and with just a glance, Camilla was cowed by the powerful aura. The Blood Kin returned to the girl’s side, falling once more under her control.

Appraise!

Alysta, blood of Calamity (Avatar), level 30, legend!

The moment the girl named Alysta appeared, all the Undead retreated. Seeing this, the Dread Warriors raised a shield wall, while Serea quietly calculated.

The Undead were nothing to fear; there were twelve Blood Kin, and with Bone Yan and the Dread Warriors’ help, they could be crushed. Only this woman was trouble.

Judging by the information, she seemed to be a mage wielding blood power, but what had arrived was merely an avatar.

At the same time, alysta was also sizing up Serea. With a single glance, she locked onto the bone ring and bone necklace Serea wore. Alysta’s eyes first widened in surprise, then narrowed dangerously.

”So it’s you. I can’t believe you’ve delivered yourself directly to my door—how convenient, I won’t have to hunt you down.”

With that, the girl licked her lips—a dangerous gesture.

”You demon!”

Seeing his former comrades fall under Alysta’s control, winter’s knight’s sword flared with golden holy light.

”Heh, without that pesky ’Bible’ for protection, do you still have the courage to swing your sword at me?”

Under Alysta’s mockery, winter’s hands trembled, but he suppressed his fear and turned to look at Serea.

”Miss Elf, take your Bone Yan and go—she’s very dangerous.”

Winter kept urging Serea to leave, making clear just how vital the information gathered in the fragment was. But Serea did not move, for she knew that escaping before the enemy would be useless—perhaps she didn’t even need to escape.

Sensing their intent to run, alysta moved decisively.

If she could reclaim the bone ring and necklace, mirzada could be fully resurrected, and another Addis could be nurtured. She had to obtain those tokens.

Blood Manipulation!

A blood-red spell circle appeared, enveloping everyone; the attack was swift and forceful. Blood Spring gradually seeped up, surrounding the group; they were moments from being fully ensnared.

”We can’t fall here!”

Having witnessed this move before, winter gritted his teeth for a desperate stand—but suddenly, a blood crystal was flung out—

Blood Frenzy!

Blood Manipulation!

The Blood Spring froze right before the group, and Alysta’s confident smile stiffened on her face.

On the other side, winter, sensing something off about the Blood Spring not attacking, stared in shock—as the Blood Spring began to flow and draped about them like gauze, with the group protected at the center.

The Blood Spring had fallen under Serea’s control!

”What! Impossible!”

Alysta’s eyes bulged in disbelief, totally shocked—though it was hard to accept, her power told her that just now, her Blood Spring had been seized by the girl!

Blood Spring, a product of Vampire technology—when it came to Blood Spring, none of equal rank could surpass Serea, especially as this opponent was only an avatar.

At that moment, after activating Blood Frenzy, Serea’s level was—

Level 35!

”Who are you?!”

Alysta bellowed in disbelief.

”That’s what I should be asking you.”

Blood Manipulation!

The Blood Spring surged, striking at Alysta like a bloodstained flower. She dodged in haste.

Boom!

A bloody tentacle lashed out, snapping great trees, and Alysta was sent flying in disarray.

”Aaaah!”

As Serea dared attack their master, the Blood Kin burned their blood and charged. Serea parted her lips softly.

”Clark!”

”Clark is here!”

A crimson spell circle unfurled across the sky. At the sight of its patterns, alysta recalled something.

”That strange spell circle is...”

Boom!

Clark landed with a crash, unleashing Heavy Strike Support; two Blood Kin were instantly smashed into a pulp.

With a flashy spin, his body of solid stone moved with remarkable agility.

Scorching Ray!

Twin red beams swept out, reaping Undead in masses; one unlucky Blood Kin was melted on the spot.

Watching Clark slaughter so fiercely, Serea felt as though he was growing stronger with her.

As more Undead charged, the blood slaves joined the battle, blocking the remaining Blood Kin with the Dread Warriors. With Bone Yan’s help, the whole fight became an overwhelming massacre.

As for Serea, she faced Alysta directly.

Blood tentacles from the Blood Spring lashed out—Alysta failed to dodge, her arm shattered into blood plasma.

Staggering back several steps, alysta glared warily at Serea. The blood manipulation she’d been so proud of was mercilessly crushed.

”Speak: what is your goal?”

Blood Spring drifted like gauze around Alysta, who tried to retake control—but as only an avatar, she couldn’t break out greater power.

Alysta laughed wildly.

”Hahaha! Truly interesting. I never imagined anyone in this world could master Blood Spring to such a degree.”

”......”

Seeing Alysta looking deranged, Serea frowned.

”But only I am allowed to perfectly control the Blood Spring in this world—you must die!”

Murderous intent erupted in Alysta’s eyes. Sensing danger, Serea shielded herself behind the Blood Spring.

The next instant, alysta’s body dissolved into blood plasma, which exploded, hurling blood filled with cursed power. Fortunately, the Blood Spring blocked it, but Alysta’s avatar vanished.

”Escaped...”

No, not exactly—this was only an avatar; her real body must still lurk deep within the fog, and as she said, she would definitely come looking.

...

The scene shifted to an underground chamber, where the girl Alysta suddenly opened her eyes.

”That woman’s power... feels so familiar...”

”So? Did you catch the annoying bug?”

Adolf asked. Hearing this, alysta shook her head.

”No, because someone even more troublesome got in my way.”

”That woman named Serea?”

”Yes.”

”Heh, quite bold.”

”So, do we need to stop the ritual and deal with her first?”

”No need. Let that fellow amuse them for a while.”

As Adolf spoke, his gaze shifted to a short man in the black-violet mire, whose name was—

Maregof!

...

With Alysta’s disappearance, the controlled Holy Knights each bowed under Camilla’s control—only to dissolve into pools of blood and disappear seconds later.

”Everyone...”

Gazing at his companions’ tragic deaths, sadness welled in Winter’s eyes.

”What terrifying power.”

Serea muttered, then rejoined the others.

”How’s the situation?”

”No casualties so far.”

”That’s good.”

Their conversation ended, Serea looked at Winter again, and saw that his sadness had faded.

”Thank you, kind Miss Elf. But for you, we would not have survived.”

”No need for pleasantries. Tell me, what did you discover here?”

Addressing the Holy Knight, he exchanged an uneasy glance with the female Holy Knight, both looking troubled.

”What, even facing a common enemy you can’t share information?”

After a moment’s hesitation, winter spoke.

”Miss Elf, you and your tribespeople live in the jungle, correct?”

”Yes.”

”Then while you can, leave quickly. The ritual to summon the Demon Lord has begun—the western part of the Corrupted Jungle will be overrun. Only our Bishop can stop this if informed in time.”

”Where did you get this information?”

”We Appraised it in the Bible fragment. We came here by the church’s order to investigate the Undead magic eruption, and stumbled upon the secret ritual. The moment we tried to leave, the mist rose, and that woman led monsters in an attack. Thanks to the fragment, we managed to escape.”

The ”page”

Winter referred to was the Bible fragment; apparently he feared letting others know it was a relic, so he called it a ”page.”

”When will the ritual you mentioned begin?”

”Now!”

Even as Winter spoke, a black pillar of light shot up from the center of the fog, radiating such oppressive pressure, it was near impossible to breathe even from afar.

”Damn...”

Serea cursed inwardly. At that moment, news came from Leklis as well: the Whirlpool Tide clan’s tribespeople would soon reach Lake Nos, but the dwarves would take longer.

Therefore, Serea decided:

No more waiting—move out immediately!

She ordered Leklis to press forward with his men, then mounted Chips.

”Let’s go!”

She handed the fragment back to Winter, and was about to charge into the heart of the fog.

”Miss Elf, it’s very dangerous up ahead!”

”I know, but I cannot run away. You all hurry and leave.”

As their savior prepared to leave, winter glanced at the scraps in his hand. After a brief hesitation, he made a decision.

”Wait!”
