”I may have to leave.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Serea’s face immediately darkened.

”So soon?”

”I could have stayed a while longer, but... Serea, you must have sensed it as well—the threat coming from the southern jungle.”

Recalling the vast magical power detected by Dogsius, Serea’s heart tightened.

”The situation is getting worse, so I have to rush back. Thank you, Serea, for helping me investigate the cause of the undead plague outbreak these past days.”

Lilith spoke. Although she and the Holy Knights had been confined in the camp all these days, Little Black and Little White had continuously helped gather information on the undead outbreak for Lilith.

Now, they had basically identified the central area of the undead plague’s eruption. Though they hadn’t discovered what was hidden there, with the collected information, lilith could finally report back to the church.

However...

”You can leave, but don’t forget our agreement.”

”I won’t forget.”

Lilith promised. After hearing this, Serea fell silent for a long time. But when she thought of what her bargain-bin older sister would soon have to do...

”About Ina—are you sure you want to do that?”

”Yes.”

”Do Father and the others know?”

”I’ve only discussed it with Mother.”

”But have you considered the consequences?”

”I’ve considered it. But the Ailera Empire has already proven with their actions that they don’t want peace. Only those short-sighted nobles would believe such foolish notions, but I won’t.”

”......”

Staring into Lilith’s eyes, Serea held in her words for a long time before finally uttering four words.

”Be careful in everything.”

And with these four words, the anxiety on Lilith’s face disappeared. Then she tightly embraced Serea.

”Don’t worry. No matter what, I’m still a sister who can handle things on my own. Serea, just wait for me to come back.”

With that promise, Serea felt at ease. The two of them hugged each other and fell asleep.

But under the tranquility of this night, a bloodthirsty maw quietly parted open...

In a certain mysterious cave, a strange ritual was underway. After the life of the sacrifice was completely drained, someone gazed at the monster in the purple abyss and spoke slowly.

”Success is within our grasp... hehehe...”

......

At dawn the next day, Serea and Lilith embraced one final time before parting ways.

”Stay safe on the road.”

”I will.”

Lilith mounted her horse. Traveling with her were Celia, who was heading to the Trading Post to seek ”instruments,” as well as several blood slaves.

As Lilith was about to depart, the Holy Knights who had been turned into blood slaves formed a line to see her off.

”Lady Lilith, safe travels!”

”Don’t worry. You all stay here, and remember to protect Serea.”

”Yes, holy Maiden. We will unconditionally obey your orders!”

The Holy Knights knelt on one knee to see her off. When Lilith returned to the church, news of their ”deaths” would be spread. Afterward, there would no longer be a ”Lilith’s Sacred Temple Knights”—only a second squad of blood slaves.

They had no complaints about this, because...

”Serea the Queen is still way cuter in that diva outfit...”

”Cute, huh? I think the scheming queen suits her attributes even better.”

Two Holy Knights whispered to each other. Clearly, they had completely defected by now.

As for guarding Serea, that too was an order from Saint Lilith. Staying here to follow orders was just duty—absolutely not out of personal feelings. Definitely not!

Watching Lilith and the others ride off, Serea felt empty inside. She dismissed the crowd and lingered at the camp gate, lost in thought for a long time.

”Well~ it’s fine. They’ll be back soon anyway.”

After a few more glances, she returned to her treehouse. Right now, all the work in the camp didn’t require her involvement. Bored, Serea had no choice but to enter her consciousness space to ”draw the lottery” to relieve her mood.

”System, I want to draw the lottery. Fifty pulls.”

Because she had acquired a lot of fear crystals and soul crystals recently, and had materials temporarily of no use, Serea decided to use them to boost her strength.

To summarize simply, the lottery process was as familiar as ever: four potions, a handful of experience gems, and—

Berserk Potion (alchemy blueprint, purple): After use, the user learns the recipe for crafting the Berserk Potion.

”Not bad, at least it’s something useful and not just a distraction.”

Sighing, Serea exited the consciousness space with the potion blueprint and headed straight for the Blood Alchemy Room.

As a high-grade purple elixir, the Berserk Potion offered four effects: enhanced strength, stamina recovery, life regeneration, and increased damage. The price, however, was that it only lasted for a while, after which a period of weakness ensued.

But as a lifesaving potion in critical moments, its value spoke for itself. Serea thus had to add it to the knowledge collection of the alchemical magic tome, little Gold, and start production.

Approaching the Blood Alchemy Room, she heard Little Gold inside teaching alchemy to two young girls.

One was Camilla, and the other was Beverly, recommended by Camilla.

Serea had heard Beverly had awakened, which was for the best—at least Camilla would no longer be gloomy as she used to be.

Of note, worried that Beverly’s frail body couldn’t endure the power of the Blood Spring (corrosion), Serea hadn’t tried to turn her into a blood slave yet.

”Busy right now?”

”Oh, master, it’s you. Welcome!”

Little Gold greeted her, and Camilla respectfully curtsied as well. Only Beverly stared at the necklace on Serea’s neck for a long moment. Not until Camilla pressed her hand on her shoulder did Beverly awkwardly do her curtsy as well.

”Queen.” x2

”It’s just right that you two are here. Little Gold, next I want you to guide them through this recipe.”

Taking the Berserk Potion formula, little Gold added it to the knowledge collection.

”This is quite an excellent recipe. I believe these two clever girls will quickly learn it.”

”Then work hard, both of you. I look forward to your results.”

While speaking, Serea noticed Camilla’s timid expression and stroked her head, giving Camilla a burst of confidence.

But seeing this, Beverly gritted her teeth a bit.

”To dare treat my slave so disrespectfully—once I find Adolf and recover my power, I’ll show you, up and down, eighteen times over, eighteen times!”

After sending Serea off through gritted teeth, Camilla sighed as she watched her leave.

”Her Majesty is truly a gentle person.”

”Yes... yes, she is.”

Beverly forced a smile. Then she squinted at all the potions lined up next to her.

That was her goal in coming here. As long as she could obtain the Spring of Life or any potion made from the Spring of Life, her body could temporarily recover, and she could go look for Adolf.

However, all alchemical materials and potions were guarded by that pesky Little Gold, so she had no chance to make a move.

What should she do...

Beverly was troubled, while Little Gold was focused on absorbing knowledge of the Berserk Potion.

”So many complicated steps... I must sort out my teaching syllabus, hmm... you two rest for now, and I’ll instruct you more thoroughly later.”

Having said that, little Gold perched atop the alchemy table and fell silent—he was digesting knowledge.

”Goodbye, teacher.” x2

After saying goodbye to Little Gold, the two girls exited the alchemy room. Walking outside, Camilla spoke to the distracted Beverly.

”Beverly, you should go back and rest.”

”Huh? Aren’t you going to rest?”

”I’m the Queen’s handmaiden, and it’s work hours right now. If there’s no alchemy lesson, I should stay at Her Majesty’s side.”

”I see...”

Parting with Camilla, Beverly did not go back immediately. Instead, she wandered around the camp.

She was searching for something...

Mobilizing her newly recovered power, she activated her spiritual perception. Within the vast camp, a source of magic pulsed in a certain direction...

She headed straight for the base of the elf king tree. Admiring the elven race’s mighty power, she noticed a tree hollow at the base of the giant tree.

”The aura is right there—so thick.”

Having located the Blood Spring, Beverly looked around. A handful of elves and underworld Undead guarded the area near the hollow.

In comparison, the Blood Spring within the alchemy room would be easier to obtain, so...

That settled it—she’d act tonight!

Secretly, Beverly set her plan in mind and returned to her bedroom. By afternoon, little Gold had organized the teaching content for the Berserk Potion, and both Camilla and Beverly returned to the alchemy room to continue their alchemical studies.

During all this, Beverly showed no sign of anything out of the ordinary. While learning alchemy, she even received frequent praise from Little Gold.

And as the evening came...

”All right, that’s it for today’s lesson. You two go and rest.”

Little Gold said, giving Beverly her opening.

”Teacher Little Gold, since I’ve only just started learning vampire alchemy and am still a bit lost, can I take some potions back to test their properties?”

Beverly’s initiative gave Little Gold no reason to refuse.

”Of course you can.”

”Thank you, teacher Little Gold.”

Beverly replied obediently and received a bottle of each potion from Little Gold.

These potions varied in quality. The low-grade ones didn’t matter much, but the higher-quality ones had all been concentrated from the Blood Spring, and the contained life force equaled what Beverly could extract from Camilla over three days.

The two girls took away their potions, but Little Gold did not realize—they would never return to the lab...

......

In the shared bedroom of Beverly and Camilla.

Arranging all the ”sample” potions on the desk, Beverly reveled at the immense life force within—her smile widened.

”Beverly-chan, are you going to start researching potions? If there’s anything I can help with, just let me know, I—”

Gulp, gulp!

Draining a triple-effect potion, Beverly licked her lips, revealing an irresistibly seductive expression.

”You!”

”Hmm? Is that so strange?”

She casually tossed away the empty bottle and picked up another potion.

”Don’t.”

Camilla grabbed Beverly’s hand, making Beverly turn her head with a puzzled look.

”Let go.”

”I...”

Camilla was frightened by her cold gaze. Taking the opportunity, Beverly swiftly gulped down several more potions.

Gulp, gulp!

Life force surged in her body—she slowly clenched her fist.

”Though it’s only a temporary restoration, it’s enough to escape and find that one.”

”Es—escape?”

Camilla was confused, while Beverly spun around and pinned her to the wall.

Thud!

Controlling Camilla’s body, Beverly slowly lifted her chin.

”Yes, escape from here. You’ll come with me—and afterward, you’ll be this king’s secondary consort. Feel honored.”

Beverly was no longer hiding her intentions. She could have escaped alone without Camilla, but...

Over these days together, Camilla’s attentive care—and her body—had etched themselves into Beverly’s mind. Though at first she had no intention of wasting emotion on this kind of woman, Beverly still decided to take her along. The reason was simple—

She liked both this girl and her body. That was all.

”Wha—what are you saying, I... mmph!”

Beverly kissed her, rendering Camilla’s mind a blank.

”Come. After tonight, we’ll leave together.”

Now understanding Beverly’s intent, Camilla tried to resist.

”No!”

Her shout made Beverly’s body freeze, and her face instantly turned cold.

”What did you say?”

”Queen Serea has shown us great kindness—we can’t just leave.”

As soon as Camilla said this, Beverly’s eyes gaped wide.

”Serea? Why mention her? You should already be under my control.”

Beverly had thought Camilla had already been enchanted by her mental power, but—

”Controlled?”

Seeing Camilla’s muddled look, Beverly was astounded.

”No... impossible. You’ve obeyed my every command—it’s not possible you haven’t been controlled.”

”Beverly...”

Camilla felt that Beverly was becoming increasingly erratic.

”Why? Why, without being controlled, would you still do everything I ask?”

”......”

The abrupt shout stunned Camilla. After pondering for a moment...

”Because you’re Beverly...”

”Because I’m Beverly!?”

At this answer, Beverly was momentarily stunned. She’d never imagined the girl’s obedience would stem from such a ”ridiculous” reason. Then anger surfaced.

”I understand now. You’ve been hiding all along. That woman realized what I was doing and planted you by my side as a spy—didn’t she?”

Beverly’s tone bordered on madness. She simply couldn’t accept her ”enchantment” had failed.

”I... mmph!”

Camilla tried to speak, but Beverly immediately blocked her mouth. This time, Beverly was far more aggressive. Being deceived by a mere vampire, she felt humiliated.

Absorb life force!

This time, Beverly held back nothing—she fiercely drew out Camilla’s life force. Once Camilla was drained, the only person who knew her secret would die, and she wouldn’t have to worry about being exposed anymore.

Under Beverly’s draining, Camilla gradually weakened, yet offered no resistance.

Soon, soon this deceitful woman would be dead, soon...

”Because you’re Beverly...”

But then, Camilla’s words replayed in Beverly’s mind.

Watching the girl’s eyelids fluttering shut, Beverly gritted her teeth and stopped draining her life force.

”Why won’t you resist?!”

”Because... because Beverly-chan...”

”Damn it!!!”

Beverly smashed her fist on the wall. Seeing Camilla’s eyes closing from the loss of life force, she leaned down and kissed her, transferring a little life force back.

The girl’s life was spared. Beverly scooped her up in her arms, feeling the chill on her skin, and wrapped her in a bedsheet.

”How dare you deceive me. I won’t let you die that easily.”

With that, Beverly packed up the remaining potions—she was prepared to flee in the night, taking Camilla along!

Once a woman hurt her and she became a demon who trusted no one, beverley used to take pleasure in controlling other women. Yet this time, she failed to notice—unwittingly, she herself had been controlled by another girl.

Camilla...
