Upon hearing that Lilith had returned, Serea dashed straight for the main gate without another word.

”Lilith!”

”Mhm, I’m back.”

Dismounting, she helped Ina off the horse. Upon seeing the young girl behind her, Serea recognized her at once.

”Let’s catch up later, ina is under a mental magic spell right now—we need to wake her up immediately.”

”Alright, let’s take her to the treehouse.”

The group quickly returned to the treehouse, laying the unconscious Ina flat on the bed. Gazing at the girl with her eyes tightly shut, Serea called out.

”Dogsius, check her condition.”

”Yes, mistress.”

Half a minute passed before Dogsius spoke.

”It’s high-level mental control—the source is... that ring!”

As soon as he said this, Serea’s gaze shot to Ina’s finger. The moment she saw the ring, she was certain: it was the very ring she had nearly been forced to wear by a Thief when she first arrived in this world.

”Ailera...”

She whispered the name to herself and reached out to remove the ring. Seeing this, Dogsius quickly intervened.

”Mistress, don’t! The ring has been tampered with—if you take it off hastily, the wearer could suffer severe mental damage; at best, dementia, at worst, complete annihilation of her consciousness.”

”Mental magic designed for secrecy, huh? Quite the method.”

Cursing Ailera internally, Serea continued.

”So what should we do now to awaken Ina?”

”Leave it to me. I just need to dispel the mental magic affecting her.”

Following Dogsius’s instructions, Celia placed her hand on Ina’s forehead. Although Lilith seemed a bit confused by this, she did not stop them.

Releasing her mental power, Dogsius dove into Ina’s mind realm to undo the mental magic.

Suddenly, Celia’s face twisted in fear. Serea quickly asked,

”What’s wrong?”

”It’s nothing—I just witnessed Miss Ina’s nightmare.”

”Nightmare?”

While Serea was puzzled, Celia had already finished and withdrawn her hand. The mental magic lifted, she immediately removed the ring from Ina’s finger.

”There’s no problem now, but her mind is still a little weak. She needs to rest for a while—try not to disturb her during this time.”

With those words, Celia led everyone out of the room. Serea and Lilith lingered with worried glances before shutting the door and also stepping outside.

Outside, the sky was already dark, and everyone else headed to rest, leaving only Serea and Lilith in the house.

”You weren’t injured this time, were you?”

”With this, everything was easy.”

Lilith produced a token as she spoke.

”This is!!!”

”A Silver Shuttle token. Thanks to their help, I was able to save Ina. Silver Shuttle has now gathered at the Xiyun Merchant Guild’s Trading Post. If they stayed in Otto, their talents would be wasted, so I’m leaving this in your care.”

She tossed the token, and Serea caught it.

Silver Shuttle Token (Purple): Carved from a dragon’s fang and enchanted. Wearing it increases one’s strength by 20% and enables the release of draconic might to suppress dragon sub-races.

A dragon!

Serea had only activated Appraise out of habit because the token felt good in her hand, but she hadn’t imagined such a small token could be so precious.

”But is this really okay?”

”Just take it. They have already been abandoned by Otto. Maybe being with you is truly their best home.”

Lilith squeezed Serea’s hand over the token, then sat on the bed, making it clear she had no intention of leaving tonight.

Serea carefully put away the token, but at that moment, Dogsius’s voice suddenly sounded.

”Mistress, I have a report.”

”Speak.”

”I sensed a vast mental power inside Miss Ina. Originally, it would have taken some time to undo her mental magic, but that power aided me—and even showed me some of the scenes in Ina’s mind.”

”Hmm?”

”It was like this.”

With that, Dogsius replayed the scenes she saw in Ina’s mind: a fall into a seemingly endless abyss; three girls riding a dragon racing to the rescue.

Why did this scene seem so familiar? Thinking hard, Serea realized—it was exactly the strange dream she’d had before!

”What is going on here...”

Resting her chin on her palm, Serea tried to recall that odd dream. But suddenly—

*pounce!*

Before she could think further, someone hugged her tightly from behind. Feeling warm breath on her ear, Serea’s body tensed.

”Ah!”

”Ah? The ’Queen’ Serea is absolutely lacking in dignity like this.”

Seeing Serea’s flushed cheeks, lilith grinned mischievously and lifted her onto the bed.

”It’s been days since we’ve seen each other—did you miss big sister Serea?”

”You really don’t act like a big sister at all.”

”How can you say that? My love for Serea is pure sisterly affection!”

”Do you believe that yourself...”

”Isn’t it true?”

Lilith feigned self-doubt.

”Wanting to get close to and protect my little sister—that’s what being sisters means, right?”

”Fine, but let me ask you a question.”

”What is it?”

”Lilith, have you had any strange dreams lately? Like a huge dragon flying in, carrying three girls or anything like that.”

”Hmm... I don’t think I have. Why do you ask all of a sudden?”

”Never mind, it was just a casual question.”

”Oh, so you’re done asking now.”

Lilith smirked slyly. Serea seemed resigned, but before Lilith could get any closer, a golden light appeared on Lilith’s forehead—that was...

The mark of the church!

Noticing the light, lilith shuddered and her gaze grew dull.

”What’s wrong?”

”Probably away too long... Those guys want me back.”

”Are you going to...”

Halfway through the sentence, lilith gently kissed Serea’s forehead.

”I’ve decided—I’m leaving the church.”

”!!!”

Serea stared in shock.

”You’re a candidate Saintess—leaving like this...”

”Being Saintess means nothing compared to you, Serea. Besides, war is coming soon. As the princess of Otto, I have to return.”

”Lilith...”

”Don’t give me that look! Big sister will always protect you and Ina. Mother and the others, too.”

”......”

Serea fell silent, but after considering—

Whatever the church could offer her, she could give her as well. Or maybe selfishly, Serea truly hoped she would come back and stay forever.

Yet as Serea thought this, lilith suddenly looked like she wanted to speak but hesitated.

”What is it?”

”Um... Serea, your mermaid form is so cute, so...”

”Huh?”

Seeing Lilith’s hopeful face, Serea stood there, frozen.

......

In the Okkento Royal Palace, king Gibusk gazed at two intelligence reports, feelings mixed and complicated.

Ina had been ambushed and killed within Ailera’s lands. By rights, he should have been furious. Yet...

The remnants of Silver Shuttle had all disappeared, not yet returned. Furthermore, lilith had previously met with ’Silver’—none of this had escaped his notice.

Calculating all this, Gibusk had basically figured things out.

”My king, queen Catherine has arrived.”

”Let her in.”

Catherine entered the chamber, and the guards withdrew.

”It’s late, Your Majesty. Why have you called me?”

”The Silver Shuttle token—where is it?”

He got right to the point. Catherine, in contrast, seemed utterly calm, as if she had long expected this question.

”Not answering? So you truly did it.”

”I have to protect my child.”

”But have you thought—if the nobles find out Silver Shuttle is still around, what about the royal family...”

”You’re the king—are you actually afraid of those nobles and ministers?”

”I...”

Gibusk wanted to retort, but the words caught in his throat.

”I already sent the royal guard to intercept the delegation. I didn’t discuss it with you for secrecy’s sake. I didn’t anticipate you’d use the Silver Shuttle token.”

”So you’re finally standing up to those nobles and Ailera?”

”She’s our daughter, after all.”

”Only now you say that? Isn’t it a bit late?”

”......”

Catherine was now a far cry from her gentle appearance before outsiders; this dignified, queenly manner was clearly her true self.

”In any case, as long as Ina’s safe, I’m not blaming you. The fault is mine. As king, I couldn’t even protect my own daughter—how ironic... how very ironic!”

Gibusk shook his head, laughing bitterly as he left. Catherine sat gazing out the window.

......

The next day.

The Skeleton Warriors were ready to depart, joined by two newly-activated Gargoyles.

”Queen, have a safe journey.”

”Mhm, don’t worry, I’ll be back soon. Guard the camp while I’m away.”

With that, Serea set off at the front. Their destination this time...

Eriwin dwarf tribe!

Serea had already ’accused’ Maregof at the jungle assembly, and this time she would attend the assembly to confront Maregof for judgment. Unless something unexpected happened, maregof would be fully exiled from the jungle alliance.

However, a small incident on the way let Serea know that things might not go as smoothly as she imagined.

Boom!

A Gargoyle descended from the sky, swinging its war halberd and smashing lines of zombies and Skeletons to pieces. Little Black and the others charged in, wiping out the wandering Undead in the jungle.

But suddenly, little Boo landed on Serea’s shoulder. Hearing the news brought by Raven, her expression changed.

”Hold formation and advance—there’s a large Undead gathering up ahead.”

”Yes, Ma’am!”

Two Gargoyles soared into the air, giant wings unfurled as they led the charge. With the two behemoths clearing the way, zombies and Skeletons were nothing—but it still delayed them significantly.

She glanced at the pouches, now bulging with freshly gathered Death Crystals, and muttered,

”Looks like the situation is even worse than I imagined. Unless I see for myself, I won’t have any real idea what’s happening outside. I can’t just hide and play at being ’Queen’—I need to see for myself from now on.”

Speaking, Serea harvested another round of Death Crystals. Battered and delayed, the group finally reached the base of the mountains below the Eriwin dwarf tribe.

When Serea and the others arrived, lodran—who had been waiting—waved.

”It’s Queen Serea, let them pass!”

At his words, the outpost gate blocking the mountain path swung open. Serea’s troops settled in at the outpost, while she, along with several guards and key members, followed Lodran toward the main camp in the mountains.

Looking back at the outpost—

”When I came before, only scouts guarded this place. How did you build such strong fortifications this time?”

”No choice. The Undead in the jungle have become more and more frequent. Scouts alone aren’t enough—we had to build defenses to keep the Undead pinned at the mountain’s base.”

As Lodran explained, Serea glanced down from the high ground. Even from here, she could spot two groups of roaming Undead; clearly, other camps were suffering too.

Arriving at the main camp, Serea and her group entered the conference room.

”Oh, queen Serea, my friend!”

Several dwarves had long been waiting. Leading them was the Eriwin dwarf tribe’s chief—Vandock Eriwin.

Last time, he’d been silent as a stone. Now, he was warm and welcoming. Sure enough, to get along with dwarves, the way in was through beer and blacksmithing.

Especially since Serea had helped them build an enchanted armor workshop, the Eriwin dwarf tribe now considered the Darkmoon clan their closest allies.

”Greetings, clan Chief Vandock. Sorry for being late.”

”Hahaha! No need to apologize—actually, you’re the first to arrive.”

As Vandock spoke, Serea glanced at the other seats around the round table—all empty.

”Hm? The others haven’t arrived?”

”Yes. I just got word—they ran into Undead and may be late. So, queen Serea, you’re actually early.”

”Then let’s wait together.”

As they sat waiting, the dwarves served drinks and tea. Only after the tea had gone cold did more visitors finally enter the conference room.

”Sorry for being late.”

This time, it was several towering bearfolk. Through introductions, Serea learned they were from the Brand bearfolk clan of Mount Eiso—the second most powerful tribe in the jungle after Maregof’s.

The chief was ’Jäger Brand’, level 38, Epic, bearfolk warrior.

Next came the Blood Eye beastman clan—their chief was ’Oleg Blood Eye’, level 35, Epic, berserker warrior.

And finally—

”Oh, lovely mermaid miss, what a fateful encounter!”

Dibek tried to approach, but Diberu held him back.

”Brother, please restrain yourself—we’re all here together.”

Ignoring Diberu, Serea and the others proceeded with self-introductions. Besides the largest clans in the jungle, several midsized affiliated tribes had also come. The scene was truly impressive.

This assembly allowed Serea to gain an entirely new understanding of the jungle.
