From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Su Jiameng panted heavily. Although the Ghost Shadow was destroyed in the virtual network, it could be restored for a small fee after the match. Compared to such a trivial loss, Gu Ningyi’s act of abandoning his mecha excited her.

”That was really dangerous just now, almost got pierced through.” Su Jiameng raised her hand to touch her left shoulder, and immediately gasped in pain. Her hand was covered in hot, sticky blood, which flowed down quickly. Her smooth shoulder seemed to have had a chunk cut off, with blood and flesh churning.

Biting her lip, she tore her coat into pieces with one hand, roughly bandaged the wound on her shoulder, and then opened a small box tied to her thigh. Without even looking, she took out a preloaded syringe and jabbed it directly into the wound.

”Hiss—I’d love to say something to that shopkeeper, boasts during the pitch... damned thing doesn’t even hurt!”

Su Jiameng moved her arm, the bleeding temporarily stopped. This type of medicine was similar to super speed hypos, but not as effective, and it was extremely painful. To reduce this pain, it often contained anesthetic components.

However, Su Jiameng didn’t dare use those hypos with anesthetic components. A jab could numb a small part of her body, rendering her unfit for combat! But compared to the current heart-wrenching pain, she felt it was more rational not to use such hypoes.

As she opened the mecha cockpit, she hadn’t even spotted where Gu Ningyi was when a fierce wind attacked from the side, carrying a suffocating killing intent. Swiftly, she dodged away, but the tips of her bundled hair were hit, sparking a crackling sound, with the smell of burnt air. Standing on high ground, Su Jiameng could just see Gu Ningyi putting away his Laser Particle Sword.

”Who would’ve thought... you’re not dead yet...” Su Jiameng cursed herself silently. If the situation hadn’t been so urgent, when she pierced the engine of his mecha, she should’ve left something behind to trigger a self-destruct!

However, the distance between them was too close, and Su Jiameng couldn’t tell which of them was more unfortunate, dying first in the explosion! Su Jiameng never attempts such luck-based strategies; she prefers the feel of personally decapitating her opponent.

”The cockpit was destroyed, and you’re not dead either... quite fortunate.” Implied, if Su Jiameng could survive, there was no reason he couldn’t. To speak frankly, shouldn’t the dead one have been her?

”Because my attribute is cockroach, can’t be killed.” Su Jiameng mocked herself, having died twice and crossed over twice, doesn’t that make her like a cockroach? If Gu Ningyi’s strike had been slightly off by ten centimeters, she might really be dead.

”Haha, hope you continue to be that lucky.” Gu Ningyi felt somewhat aggrieved. Back when he was in school, he was also a passionate youth, and he’s played in chaotic battles before, as well as dual network battles. But never like this, forced to abandon the mecha, and having to endure the other’s mockery!

For others, when forced to abandon a mecha, they’d still have a chance to drive a backup, but the opponent wasn’t to be underestimated, so such opportunities are generally not utilized. In dual royal battle mode, each team’s ’king’ only gets one chance.

Otherwise, Su Jiameng would’ve seen Gu Ningyi driving a backup mecha to crush his opponents. He wiped away the cold sweat on his forehead from the earlier pain; the blood on his hands had cooled but hadn’t coagulated, and some blood smeared onto his face with that motion. Yet, Su Jiameng was completely unfazed... and it was this nonchalance that deepened the chill in Gu Ningyi’s heart.

Those who haven’t truly experienced life and death, generally have a natural fear of it. Gu Ningyi didn’t believe a sixteen-year-old girl, if she hadn’t been through some dark experiences, could face such a deep shoulder wound so calmly. Not crying or fussing was already impressive enough, let alone being indifferent like her.

”I live not by luck!” Su Jiameng scoffed, her right hand feeling for something on her thigh, her fingers deftly unlocking it, ”If it was with mechas, you might have a significant advantage, but now...”

Gu Ningyi chuckled, ”I have a completely opposite view. With your current state, what waves can you possibly stir? One arm nearly useless... seems I’ve forgotten to tell you, those medicines sold on the market, not only are they ineffective, but they also have significant resistance. You don’t feel it now, but in a little while, you’ll probably experience it.”
