From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Su Yanjing sat in the mecha’s cockpit, watching those two obviously bickering guys, and fell silent instantly. He thought, perhaps he was meddling too much out of boredom. This Grand Uncle didn’t seem like someone who needed saving...

But since he was already here, he might as well just fight! When enemies meet on a narrow path, it’s the hero who wins!

Su Yanjing tightened his fist slightly, looking into the eyes of the bun-headed woman with a flicker of battle intent. Su Lu continued lying on the ground pretending to be dead. He coughed lightly while holding a fist, ”Master Senior Sister, Xiao Jing is very strong. When it comes to mecha piloting, you might lose to him. Umm, if you don’t kill me, I can tell you how to defeat him?”

The bun-headed woman snorted lightly through her nose, her beautiful lips parted saying something that made Su Lu feel despair, ”You... still such a mess, continue like this, and I’ll tell the teacher about your nonsense. I think he’d be very willing to give you special attention and help you catch up! But being away from Augustus for such a short time and this lazy disease is getting worse...”

Telling the teacher? Su Lu pictured in his mind his master’s reaction to this news, shaking his head like a rattle-drum, ”How can that work? If the teacher finds out, won’t he be so mad he’ll break my bones? Master Senior Sister, I’m still your junior brother, right? Let’s not embarrass ourselves and let me off this time. I really don’t want to get killed in the virtual network...”

The bun-headed woman said with annoyance, ”So you’d rather pathetically admit defeat than heroically sacrifice yourself?”

”Naturally...” Su Lu didn’t feel a shred of shame for his disgraceful conduct; to him, virtual network competitions were meaningless. To insist and even pay with one’s life for something fake seemed stupid in his view, ”A fine steel should be used on the blade; my life is very precious, not something to give up lightly. And aren’t you my Master Senior Sister? Can’t you give me some face?”

”If you really valued your life, why not give it your all?” The bun-headed woman snorted coldly, seemingly very angry at his behavior, ”If you truly showed your real skills, you wouldn’t be easily caught and end up so passive, right?”

Her teacher once said Su Lu was a genius in Ancient Martial Arts, but lazy by nature, lacking motivation for anything, especially in cultivation and learning. He seemed to study Ancient Martial Technique seriously but actually was doing it casually — learning whatever he felt like.

The Ancient Martial Technique emphasizes hard work and frequent practice, but Su Lu, being inherently lazy, although he learned well, if he were diligent, she wouldn’t have easily defeated him today. Basically, if you don’t seek trouble, you won’t get into trouble; is it so hard for this guy to be a bit more industrious?

”I gave it my all, but still lost...” Su Lu mumbled, the bun-headed woman thought he was talking about her, but Su Lu was referring to his previous loss to Su Jiameng. Actually, the bun-headed woman didn’t know, after that failure, Su Lu began to truly regard the Ancient Martial Technique seriously and trained diligently, though the time was still short, he couldn’t have made much progress.

”Next time, next time I fight Master Senior Sister, I definitely won’t lose so easily.” Su Lu rested his hands behind his head, his eyes slightly narrowed, seemingly planning to nap here, ”But before that, Master Senior Sister has to deal with Xiao Jing first.”

The bun-headed woman twitched her mouth, glancing at the sky where the ”Justice Knight” was standing by, ready to save people, couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Your poor great-great-nephew, his Grand Uncle constantly egging on outsiders to beat him up...”

”Outsider? How can you say she’s an outsider? Master Senior Sister is clearly family.” Su Lu grinned cheekily, only to receive a side-eye from the bun-headed senior sister, ”And Xiao Jing is really strong, Master Senior Sister, you should be careful.”

”Blabbermouth!” The bun-headed woman signaled with her eyes for her companions to keep an eye on Su Lu. She pulled out a long, strip-shaped object wrapped in cloth from the mecha cockpit, waving it at Su Yanjing, chin slightly lifted, ”I always dislike bullying the weak. I can see your mecha is seriously damaged, estimating a wear rate nearly over seventy percent, right?”

Su Yanjing pursed his lips, responding, ”So what if it is?”

”As I said, I dislike bullying the weak. Since it’s a fair and just free-for-all, I’ll give you a fair chance. Your mecha’s wear rate is too high, and the backup energy is probably almost used up; fighting us now, you’d be down in a few minutes, which is very unfair.” The bun-headed woman suddenly cracked a smile, her maniacal aura beginning to surge.
