From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

After listening to the science lecture for most of the day, everyone gained a basic understanding of the peculiar Anbola trees, and some quick-witted people guessed what kind of devious plan Su Jiameng was hatching. But what surprised them most was that these seemingly ordinary trees had such knowledge... and it was pretty obscure, wasn’t it?

Meanwhile, Gu Ningyi also shared knowledge about Anbola trees with his sub-team members, and Cui Hu immediately thought this could be a good place for an ambush. Theo Mossley nodded in agreement, saying, ”Anbola trees... I happened to catch a glimpse of this plant in old botany magazines some years ago. It’s too niche; I bet the opposing team doesn’t know the secret...”

However, the girl with the bun in the team was somewhat puzzled, ”The opposing team’s average skill level is much lower than ours. If we face them directly, victory is assured. This kind of setup... seems a bit unnecessary. As long as we take out their captain, the match is over.”

”This is a mixed-battle, so use mixed-battle tactics. Don’t underestimate any detail; it could decide victory or defeat.” Cui Hu shook his head, ”Even though we are stronger, if the opponent takes advantage of timing, terrain, and harmony, they might well win against stronger foes. In battle, arrogance and carelessness are the greatest taboos. Remember, the only difference between them and us is age and strength, not intelligence.”

Gu Ningyi, standing to the side, secretly nodded in agreement. As the commander, Cui Hu should naturally have firmer beliefs and principles than others.

A strong mind can endure what others cannot, see one’s strength and current situation clearly. In large-scale operations, a commander’s order can influence an entire battlefield and the lives of many, requiring a clear mind more than ever.

As things stood, Cui Hu was doing quite well. However... Gu Ningyi frowned slightly. Indeed, Anbola trees were rare. If it weren’t for the time he spent living in an area with Anbola trees, he probably wouldn’t have noticed their peculiar nature...

Who knows what the Mecha Fighting Arena was thinking, actually hiding such ”Easter eggs” in the swamp mini-map. He could only grumble that the Easter eggs were buried too deep, with few contestants likely to find them!

”Always prepare for every possibility... Can’t rule out the chance that someone on the opposing team knows about these trees...” Cui Hu thought it over, making arrangements for the map. Gu Ningyi, watching from the side, suddenly furrowed his brows.

Cui Hu’s talent and strength were undeniable, but... he seemed too by-the-book. In a mixed-battle, the last thing you want is a bottom line and discipline. Sticking to the usual tactics too often leads to passivity. At this moment, Brother Gu felt an ominous premonition.

Conversely, Su Jiameng happily made a rough setup. The swamp map was close by, and with its natural geographic advantages, it was perfect for an ambush. By properly utilizing the special miasma, getting a sneaky leverage wouldn’t be hard!

Gu Ningxuan frowned and asked, ”What if someone on the opposing team also knows the secrets of this map?”

Su Jiameng replied nonchalantly, ”Even if they knew, it wouldn’t matter because they’re too full of integrity. That Cui Hu is a student with formal commander-training, who has never truly experienced the dynamism of battlefield command, so he’s too inexperienced...”

Beside her, Gu Ningzhi quietly mocked her words, thinking she spoke as if she had been on a battlefield, commanding dynamic battles herself?

Su Jiameng planned to make a striking debut by using the swamp map for their first opening battle, then shifted her attention to the other maps.

What she saw made her laugh. She even suspected that the map was deliberately put together this way. Filled with ”shady” and interesting ”Easter eggs”! They looked very ordinary, but when truly played, they could mess you up!

”I didn’t think much of the Mecha Fighting Arena at first, but it turns out to have some tricks...” The map’s ”Easter eggs” could be the vegetation, special creatures, or minerals within it. Every map had them, depending on whether people could identify them.

After this round of lectures and deployment, everyone had a more positive view of Su Jiameng’s abilities, though they still had to comment on this perverse Mecha Fighting Arena! Despite participating in so many mixed-battles, they hadn’t discovered many ”Easter eggs”!

After the meeting, the two scout squads began to return, reporting their findings this time. They only explored the nearest three maps, and based on this data, Su Jiameng made slight modifications to the provisional battle plan and started the personnel deployment.

”Mr. Gu Er, Miss Luo Xin, the swamp with the Anbola trees will be your task. Lead two teams of twenty people each...” Gu Ningzhi mentioned that during gatherings, he should be referred to as Gu Er, and for some reason, Luo Xin hadn’t left Qiming Star and was brought into this mixed-battle by Gu Ningzhi, which was an unexpected bonus. Just as Su Jiameng was about to assign forty people, Liu Lanyue had a question...

”Isn’t this swamp of strategic importance? Shouldn’t more manpower be assigned... is forty-two too few?”

”Not at all; forty-two is quite a lot.” Su Jiameng took a specially made space hub out of her bag and handed it to Gu Ningzhi, sinisterly saying, ”The biggest taboo in the Anbola swamp is attack weapons using compression technology... once there’s a spark, it’ll spread completely... Mr. Gu Er, you understand what I mean... act according to the original plan!”

”No problem.” Gu Ningzhi hesitated, wondering whether to inform his brother of Xiao Meng’s plan?

Uh, maybe not. Let’s wait till his brother fails; his expression will probably be quite interesting.

”As for Mr. Xia Youyang and Miss Wenren, each of you will lead a team of one hundred and fifty people, advancing along this route. From comprehensive data assessment, this pond appears to be interconnected, likely linking up with this lake...”

”Boss Qin and Ah Lei will lead a squad as bait, only allowed to flee, not face direct combat...” (To be continued.
