From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Gu Ningzhi didn’t expect that the conversation between himself and his brother was intercepted by Su Jiameng. His fingers paused with the fruity cigarette, and the ashes fell as he said sheepishly, ”Intercepting other people’s private conversations, you’re really considerate...”

According to Gu Ningzhi’s guess, Su Jiameng should be fully focused on dealing with the melee. But she somehow managed to keep an eye on his conversations while engaged in high-intensity combat... secretly gritting his teeth, he complained, truly a freak of nature!

”Ha, of course, I’m a considerate person. You’ve repeatedly communicated with the enemy, and I haven’t taken any substantive punitive actions; if that’s not considerate, what is?” Su Jiameng chuckled and then added, ”If you don’t believe me, you can have someone else try, and you’ll definitely get stabbed the moment the melee starts!”

Gu Ningzhi had no words to counter, and could only sulkily switch to a cigarette with a banana flavor, continuing to smoke. He wanted to see if this overly arrogant girl could truly follow through on her boasts before the match and win this vastly uneven melee!

Gu Ningzhi stopped fussing around, hiding with a few others in this sheltered spot to chat and goof off, planning to slack off completely. Battles were occurring everywhere in the melee, but overall, Augustus’s side had an overwhelming advantage.

The swamp map was taken by Su Jiameng using shameless tactics, the main camp’s battle was in a stalemate, but the other maps were worrying.

”No way... The power gap is too large...” K3 raised his hand to wipe the thick blood off his face, surrounded by the piercing smell of smoke and occasional sights of mecha wreckage and rising black smoke; the blue dots representing their side on the map were gradually decreasing.

Su Jiameng’s tactics were indeed effective, achieving surprise success at the start and gaining delightful results.

However, after Augustus’s small team made the necessary sacrifices, the same tactics failed to achieve the expected effect, coupled with the insurmountable power gap between the sides for the moment, the scales began to tip against K3 and his team.

K3 and Xu Lei led a small team as bait to lure Augustus’s team in, but unfortunately, the initial setup had limited impact, only taking out one-third of the enemies, with the remaining two-thirds only lightly injured or unharmed! As the bait team, K3’s team naturally suffered heavy casualties, and even the reinforcements that rushed over took substantial losses...

”There’s nothing we can do about it, given the age difference, unless there’s a huge disparity in talent, we can’t bridge this gap.” Xu Lei sat in the cockpit, with some injuries on his arm, making it difficult to control the mecha, ”We can only delay as much as we can until nearby allies reinforcements arrive... By the way, Boss Qin, what’s the wear rate and energy ratio of your mecha over there?”

”The wear rate is 67%, and the energy used is 78%, but I did install backup energy earlier, so I can hold on,” K3 continued to pilot the K3 Green Wolf, but this K3 Green Wolf was very different from the initial one. With a modification expert like Su Jiameng around, the K3 Green Wolf’s configuration was constantly updated, rising rapidly, its level of power now comparable to advanced mechas.

”The situation here is similar... hehe, I hope reinforcements can arrive,” Xu Lei smiled slightly, saying, ”Although this isn’t the first time I’ve died on the virtual network, it’s never happened in a melee before... since it’s Xiao Meng hosting this melee, it feels like a different kind of commemorative meaning, I don’t want to recall this later and only remember being killed off the field!”

”What a coincidence, I think so too,” K3 maneuvered the Green Wolf to take a small step back. The sharp wolf claws dug into the ground, forming several deep pits, yellow dust flying and stones scattering. The limbs and back joints of the Green Wolf mecha issued clacking sounds, revealing the fierce and dark muzzle inside. Xu Lei’s mecha also reacted similarly, both planning to fight back against the wall.

In all the small map battles, besides the swamp map and the main camp, the only other place where Su Jiameng’s team still had a chance was the team led by Gu Ningxuan. However, his team only had sixty-three people, while the enemy was heavily guarded with one hundred and seventy-four!

Nearly a threefold manpower difference! Spectators unanimously believed that the map led by Gu Ningxuan should be the first to fall, but the outcome surprised everyone else, as the situation there was only in a stalemate, not the anticipated defeat predicted by the spectators!
