From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Gu sent a message, ”Perfect, I am eager to see it too. But her leaving the protection of the crowd on her own as the ’King’ could be dangerous, right? Haha, if she gets besieged, this match will be over.”

Gu Ningzhi didn’t pay attention to Su Jiameng’s gaze and continued chatting happily, ”If you don’t intervene, I think those attacking her might get wiped out. Of course, if you do step in, one side will certainly face defeat and leave...”

As he spoke, Gu Ningzhi noted that gaze intensified, making it impossible for him to deflect it with ”illusion.”

”You have a lot of confidence in her...” Brother Gu said succinctly. Though he was a hidden chatterbox, he could restrain himself during the match, ”Let’s see the results of the competition.”

After finishing their exchange, Gu Ningzhi couldn’t stand Su Jiameng’s subtle gaze any longer, leading the team to set off. As Su Jiameng passed by with a backpack, she uttered lightly into his ear, ”If you can’t take down the swamp dungeon, you should commit seppuku in apology! Daring to flirt with the enemy team in front of me... haha...”

Gu Ningzhi was made to shiver all over by Su Jiameng’s final ”haha,” a sinister and awful thought emerging in his mind, perhaps... she intercepted the content of his and his brother’s secret coded messages, knowing what they discussed?

After threatening Gu Ningzhi, Su Jiameng did the final mobilization and then gave the order to set off; each team set off one after another. Only Gu Ningxuan remained standing, puzzled, she asked, ”What’s the matter, is there something you still don’t understand?”

Gu Ningxuan looked deeply at Su Jiameng, then said, ”Seeing Miss Su’s demeanor earlier, I suddenly felt that I might still be too weak. Some things I thought I could handle, I really can’t. After the five-year contract, I’ll probably leave to find my own path... if I manage to come back alive someday, will Miss Su still take me in?”

Su Jiameng was puzzled as to why the other suddenly said such strange words. But... if Gu Ningxuan leaves to find his path and returns alive... it means he has transformed into a dragon of destiny, no longer an ordinary being trapped in the pond... so, he asks if she would still take him in? Su Jiameng suddenly felt her dream of recruiting him as a subordinate was no longer just a dream...

She smiled and replied, ”If that day comes, the temple might be too small to hold a great Buddha. But if you are willing, I am always in need of a mechanic here. In any case, returning safely is the righteous path! And now there’s still a long time until the contract expires, Mr. Gu really doesn’t need to worry about this matter now; you have plenty of time to think it through slowly.”

Gu Ningzhi nodded, after receiving a definite answer, he turned and led his team to the designated combat map.

Standing alone, Su Jiameng was puzzled, feeling that Gu Ningxuan’s words were somewhat problematic, as if he was trying to convey something else?

Five years seem long when spoken, but actually pass by in a blink of an eye. Su Jiameng scratched her head, thinking Gu Ningxuan’s decision to leave after five years might be the right move, as a sapling that doesn’t weather storms will never grow into a towering tree. As for why after five years... perhaps he was too honest and didn’t want to breach the contract?

After a while, Su Jiameng got up and left the spot, utilizing her stealth and detection abilities to the maximum. Given the treacherous nature of the Mecha Fighting Arena’s mêlée match, she couldn’t let others easily discover her whereabouts, or she’d really get besieged.

”Hoo—feels best to ambush!” Su Jiameng took off her jacket and tied it around her waist, wearing only a small tank top above, and shorts with high boots below. Her thighs were strapped with four or five ammo boxes and a spare medical kit.

”Battles like this... always bring back some bad memories...” Su Jiameng muttered, raising her hand to reposition the custom scanning goggles from her forehead to her eyes, which provided very clear vision. By sliding the control button on the frame, she could freely adjust the visual range, much like a multifunctional binocular, though a far more advanced one.

In her second life, most of Su Jiameng’s friends died gloriously on the battlefield, and coupled with her more individualistic nature, although she could partake in skirmishes, she subconsciously chose to avoid them. Acting with others always felt pressuring inside her heart.

It wasn’t about fearing her performance might be inferior, but rather the dread of experiencing the pain of losing companions again.

”According to the map analysis, if we initially refreshed here... then...” Su Jiameng analyzed the patterns of the Mecha Fighting Arena mêlée, focusing her sight on a specific canyon, ”Here should be the base, according to both sides’ refresh rules and fairness balance, Cui Hu’s team should appear here, with a terrain that’s easy to defend and hard to attack, making it an ideal base location.”

Once confirmed, Su Jiameng immediately got up, but instead of summoning the Military God, she chose to use the King of Assassination—Ghost Shadow! This was a mecha she exchanged from the Arms Dealer at the start, but hadn’t encountered the right moment to use until now.

This Ghost Shadow excels in assassination and rapid movement, its firepower intensity barely within the Restricted Mecha Order.

Of course, this was the result of Su Jiameng’s modifications; the real Ghost Shadow wasn’t this fragile. To prevent anyone from recognizing Ghost Shadow, she specially altered its appearance, now looking very ordinary.

Sitting in the cockpit of Ghost Shadow, Su Jiameng looked at the lights turning on one by one, with a calm smile across her lips, yet Gu Ningyi’s face pierced through her mind incessantly... don’t misunderstand, she had no romantic thoughts; she just wanted to completely defeat this man!

This thought was very strong and clear! But before that, she must assassinate the nine deputy leaders of the opposing side first! (to be continued.
