Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1380: Stake

Many people felt that something wasn’t right, but they couldnʼt say anything since Mr Wen was speaking.

Guancheng Village Chief stood up, and many people exclaimed. They saw that this person had four legs instead of two.

He took a few steps forward toward the foreigner.

Los Alamo’s representative looked at Guancheng Chun and saw his four legs. His eyes were filled with disgust.

“You want to compete with my lab?”

Guancheng Chun smiled, “Sure, but the things in my lab are fatal, so you have to reconsider.”

“What isn’t fatal in the apocalypse?” This outsider was very firm and agreed immediately.

Since neither side backed down, competition was unavoidable. No one else opposed, even the host, Li Daqian didn’t.

Maybe both sides wanted to see things they hadn’t seen before.

Since it was a competition, there would be rules. However, the lab results were not enough, as both sides would say that theirs were the best.
The only way that both sides would agree would be to compete under a certain condition to see which product performed better.

This thing was tough in other areas, but this was Thousand Beast Villa, and they nurtured all sorts of mutated lifeforms.

Li Daqian sent instructions and people brought six level-four mutated apes in cages. Their giant size had a huge visual impact. The lifeform with the closest body shape to humans could ensure that the lab products were also effective on humans.

The foreigner was called David. He returned to his table and discussed it with the people who had come with him. Then he walked over and said to Li Daqian and Mr Wen, “If we are only competing, that is so boring. We hope to add some excitement.”

“Oh? What excitement?” Mr Wen smiled.

This shocked Deacon Water and the others.

At this time, Li Daqian, who was the host, should decide. The fact Mr. Wen, who was an outsider, was taking charge, was disrespectful to the host.

“Just a stake, what does Mr Guan think?”

He looked back at Guancheng Chun. David raised his arms provocatively.

“What stake?”

Guancheng Chun wasn’t a newbie, and he wouldn’t lose his mind because of some provocation. He asked carefully.

“Nothing much…’ David dragged his voice, and that caused his bad Chinese to sound even more unbearable.

“We will… Have a best of three. The winner of each round will win the technique and recipe that the losing side had used.”

The moment he said that, the evolved present was in an uproar.

This was a small bet? This was huge! This could make one bankrupt.

What was the most important thing to labs? It was their skills and products. Each of them spent a huge amount of manpower, and the cost was huge. For a test to succeed, they would commit things that couldn’t be measured in demon crystals.

Just look at the number of labs in the apocalypse, and you would know how tough research was.

Taking a step back, even in peacetime, supporting and building a lab wasn’t easy. It was far worse in the apocalypse.

The labs that were still alive now, four years into the apocalypse, had some foundations and some technological breakthroughs.

These were their lives.

David’s stake was very vicious. The losing side would fall and even get wiped out.

What would happen to them if Cloud Peak’s Gene Techniques and crystal weapon technology were stolen?

The atmosphere became more nervous. Some people felt Li Daqian should step out to stop them. After all, it wasn’t good for both sides to become enemies in such an event. Everyone was invited here to cooperate. A battle to the death didn’t fit the occasion.

LI Daqian had such a thought, but he didn’t speak up. Mr Wen was the one who spoke.

“Daqian, your mutated apes are already here, so it isn’t good to just stop the competition, right? Moreover, if Chief Guan agrees, we shouldn’t stop him, right?”

Li Daqian hesitated and then looked toward Guancheng Chun, whom he had invited.

He wanted to ask him for his opinion.

Guancheng Chun’s expression changed, and he said, “Okay, I agree.”

Many people sighed. But thinking about it, if they were in his position, would they disagree? Most people felt they would agree.

The stake seemed extreme, but there were high rewards.

You didn’t know who would win, so it was fair for both sides. David’s stake actually had a loophole.

David said that it was a best of three. Each winning side would obtain the recipes that the losing side had used.

Which meant, in the worst situation, you would lose all three and lose three techniques. Apart from that, even if you won one, you would have gains and obtain one technique. If you could win two, it would be a huge profit.

When you were confident in yourself, it was unreasonable to reject this proposal.

It was obvious that Guancheng Chun was confident in his dark lab and felt that this competition was fair. This was why he would agree.

Seeing the person agree, Li Daqian wasn’t in a position to stop. He just used the most serious expression to glare at his friend. The warning in it was very thick but Mr Wen just smiled.

“Let’s begin.” Li Daqian waved and told both sides to get ready. This wasn’t a battle within evolved, so it needed some preparation time.

Both sides took a cage back.

Everyone watched curiously and didn’t know how it would go.

On the side of the Los Alamos lab, the few of them opened the cage. The level four was ordering everyone around. He told a few subordinates to tap and slap the body of the ape and then took a potion from his pocket. He injected it into the body of the black ape.
