I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

Chapter 391: Chapter 256: Why Are These Rewards Never-Ending?

This time-honored Cantonese restaurant in Yangcheng was seriously delicious.

There’s a saying: ”For the best food, go to Yangcheng; for the best chefs, go to Shunde.”

And another: ”No chicken makes it out of Yangcheng alive...”

Well, looking at the white-cut chicken, salt-baked chicken, and fine chicken soup on the table, it certainly made sense.

Minister Lin was in high spirits today. He raised his glass of juice. ”Everyone, congratulations to Jiang He, and congratulations to all of you!”

Everyone raised their glasses. ”Thank you, Minister Lin!”

Minister Lin drained his glass and said,

”Jiang He’s trip to the United States not only resolved the plagiarism incident but, more importantly, introduced the miRNA peripheral blood early screening technology for pancreatic cancer to the entire world. Do you know what this means? It means...”

The minister’s phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and his expression turned serious. ”You all go ahead and eat. I need to step out and take this call. I’ll be right back.”

The door closed.

Chen Hao let out a long sigh. ”Seriously, can’t the minister just get to the rewards already? The suspense is killing me.”

Everyone at the table chuckled good-naturedly.

The rewards wouldn’t be just for Jiang He. As members of his project team, they would all share in the glory, so everyone was looking forward to it.

But with the minister gone, the atmosphere relaxed.

They ate, drank, and chatted amongst themselves.

Cheng Xiyao was sitting to Jiang He’s left.

Jiang He asked casually, ”Xiyao, how’s the cervical erosion project coming along?”

Hearing her boss ask about work, Cheng Xiyao immediately put down her chopsticks.

”Boss, I was just about to report to you! Progress has been incredibly smooth. We’ve already collected five thousand responses for our preliminary questionnaire. But that’s not even the most critical part. The most critical part is that the state has taken action!”

”Oh? What do you mean?”

”Just in the past couple of days, the higher-ups issued an official directive calling for a nationwide campaign to clean up primary-level medical institutions and private hospitals. The focus is on cracking down on exaggerating conditions and over-treatment. Although the document didn’t mention cervical erosion by name, several subsequent implementation guidelines explicitly called for standardizing the diagnostic criteria for common gynecological physiological phenomena.”

”Boss! Those unscrupulous clinics are going to get hit hard! When we were doing epidemiological surveys at the grassroots level, the heads of those private hospitals treated us like they were seeing ghosts. They were suddenly incredibly cooperative.”

At this, Cheng Xiyao’s eyes filled with admiration. ”To be honest, I know there’s no way our little survey could have attracted attention at the national level. This must be thanks to Elder Zhi!”

”One of the leaders must have seen Elder Zhi’s article. Boss, let me tell you, Elder Zhi is not only... but also... and he... seriously... unbeatable... I worship... they say...”

Cheng Xiyao launched into a torrent of praise.

Jiang He could only sigh.

He thought back for a moment.

’The Zhiyu account must have been on the provincial government’s radar for a while now.’

’It’s only natural that it would get noticed after publishing something.’

’Plus, at this point in 2008, the country is already in the process of regulating the medical market and cracking down on over-treatment.’

’The combination of the two is why the effect was so dramatic.’

’Not bad at all.’

’Helping more people and preventing so many women from suffering needlessly is definitely a good thing.’

Jiang He interrupted the gushing Xiaocheng. ”Since the government has already implemented a policy, are there any other difficulties with the project now?”

Cheng Xiyao tilted her head, thought for a moment, and said, ”There are still some difficulties. The main issue is that our promotional efforts aren’t widespread enough. It’s just me and a few volunteers running our legs off at universities in Yangcheng. There’s a limit to how many people we can reach, and we can’t get the word out beyond the province. If only there were a platform with nationwide coverage to fully popularize this scientific concept and expand our influence...”

’Expand our influence...’

Jiang He thought for a moment.

’In 2008, the main channels for the public to get health information were still print media or television.’

’Television...’

A name suddenly popped into Jiang He’s mind.

He said, ”Xiyao, take down a number.”

”Go ahead, Boss.”

Jiang He recited a string of numbers for a cell phone.

After saving it, Cheng Xiyao asked in confusion, ”Boss, whose number is this?”

”Qiao Guanlin.”

”Qiao Guanlin? Who’s that...?”

”The producer of CCTV’s ’Path of Health’ program. I ran into him once. He wanted to invite me to be on the show and build me up as a ’national doctor,’ but I thought it would take time away from my research, so I politely declined.”

Jiang He said it all very casually.

But the others around them were stunned.

’Casually rejecting a CCTV producer? This isn’t some guy on the street trying to sell you a gym membership!’

Only Chen Hao smiled without a word.

He had been there when it happened, so he’d already had his moment of shock.

Seeing everyone’s surprised faces now, he just felt a faint sense of superiority. He’d already won.

Cheng Xiyao, channeling Cai Zhuoqun, stammered, ”C-C-C-CCTV?”

Jiang He said, ”That’s right. Didn’t you say we lack publicity? The state has already taken action, which means the policy has full support. CCTV would definitely be willing to do a health awareness episode like this. It aligns with policy, and it’s a hot topic the public cares about.”

Jiang He encouraged her, ”Call this number tomorrow and mention my name. Organize the data you’ve collected and your ideas, then talk to him. This is excellent material for their show, and for us, it’s the breakthrough we need. It’s a win-win.”

Cheng Xiyao was completely in awe.

She exclaimed, ”Boss... you’re just incredible. How do you have so many connections? You’re here in Yangcheng, yet you can pull out a CCTV producer’s contact just like that. I seriously worship you. Right now, you’re the person I admire most, right after Elder Zhi.”
