I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

Chapter 354: Chapter 240: Self-awareness

Jiang He couldn’t say if she looked good or not. His brain had already been taken over by his *other* head.

Captivated by Teacher Shen’s divine beauty, he decided he’d just have to kiss her senseless.

”Dr. J-Jiang, you...”

Before Shen Yu could finish, her mouth was sealed.

She was the type who loved to play the game, despite being a total amateur.

She was the one who had dressed this way to begin with, but now that Jiang He had actually pounced, she was getting a little flustered.

She said, ”Mmph, um, um, your hair isn’t dry yet!”

”It’ll be dry once we’re done.”

”D-Done with what!”

”What’s who? The only person I recognize is Shen Yu.”

Jiang He pulled her into his arms and kissed her expertly.

Shen Yu quickly started to pant. She struggled to pull away a little and said, ”Th-that, um, what are we having for dinner? I’m hungry.”

Shen Yu was still trying to change the subject.

Teacher Shen hadn’t showered yet, and her body carried the faint, alluring scent of her sweat.

”Ngh... ah...”

Shen Yu was out of tricks.

She was soon kissed until her whole body went soft, and she could only cling tightly to Jiang He to stay on her feet.

Jiang He’s hands were roaming freely.

The skin of her thighs felt even better than he’d imagined. One touch and she was rendered speechless.

Shen Yu gently pushed at Jiang He’s shoulder, turning her face away as she panted, ”Stop touching me... you’ll wrinkle my dress.”

”Then don’t wear it.” Jiang He’s words made a strange kind of sense.

Shen Yu’s face was bright red as she stammered, ”You... you’re awful!”

”I’m your fiancé. I like you. Is there a problem with that? Teacher Shen, you look so beautiful today.”

Shen Yu felt a tingling wave wash over her. All her resistance crumbled before Jiang He’s direct approach.

She bit her lower lip and finally gave up the struggle. Wrapping her arms around Jiang He’s neck, she whispered back, ”I like you too...”

Hearing this, Jiang He swept her up into his arms.

...

...

「The next morning.」

Jiang He sang silently to himself, ’I don’t dare open my eyes, I hope this isn’t just a fantasy~’

After Teacher Shen came and livened things up, the house finally felt like a home.

He had originally planned to rent for a while to see if he’d get used to living here.

Now it seemed they were both adapting very well, so he might as well just buy the place.

Buying a house in 2008 was basically a guaranteed profit anyway.

The two of them had a wild night.

But in the end, they managed to restrain themselves.

’Easy does it, old pal,’ he told himself. ’Stay steady, wait a bit, cool down.’

Teacher Shen still wanted to wait until after they were married to do *that*.

But that was easier said than done. In reality, there were several times midway through when Teacher Shen herself seemed on the verge of saying something, clearly about to give in...

The path was long and arduous; it would take mutual restraint from both of them to unlock the ”consummation after marriage” achievement.

Of course, what they had now was already pretty great.

Sleeping while holding onto Teacher Shen was incredibly comfortable.

Actually, it wasn’t really ”holding.”

He just had to rest his hand on them, feeling that curve, and the quality of his sleep improved dramatically.

He gave a gentle squeeze.

Shen Yu let out a soft ”mmph” and said in a drowsy voice, ”What are you doing!”

Jiang He chuckled. ”Morning, Teacher Shen.”

”Morning, Dr. Jiang.”

Jiang He couldn’t resist giving another squeeze. His fingers caressed and teased her as he said, ”Time to get up. I’m going to show you around my city today.”

”Ngh!”

Shen Yu rolled over and pounded on him playfully. ”Just talk, don’t get all handsy! You’re so annoying!”

’Why is Teacher Shen’s cutesy talk so adorable?’

So Jiang He did some cuddling, then some kissing, and finally, after a quick shower, the two of them got out of bed.

They washed up.

They held hands the whole way.

He took Teacher Shen to eat some rice noodle rolls.

This rice noodle roll shop was, in Jiang He’s opinion, the most authentic one in the neighborhood.

Throughout the entire meal, they kept one pair of hands clasped on top of the table, forcing them to eat with their free hands.

They were so sweet, the other customers were practically getting toothaches just watching.

After breakfast, he took Teacher Shen to a hidden gem of a shop that sold mung bean cakes.

He bought two extra portions, saying she could take them to the lab for everyone to try.

Finally, they arrived at the lab at Southern Medical University.

When everyone saw Shen Yu, they followed Chen Hao’s lead, greeting her one by one with a ”Hello, Sister-in-law!”

Zhou Yang originally wanted to find something to nitpick, but after staring at Shen Yu for a long time, he couldn’t find a single flaw.

He had no rebuttal.

Lin Yue completely agreed with Zhou Yang’s silent concession. ”Yep,” she said.

Shen Yu took out the mung bean cakes. ”You’ve all been working hard. We bought some mung bean cakes on the way here, please have some.”

The group immediately gathered around.

Gu Yizhou had been in the middle of an experiment and only just came over. Seeing Shen Yu, he was very respectful, bowing his head slightly as he greeted her, ”Sister-in-law.”

Although he showed respect, he still seemed very distant.

Jiang He nodded. ”Go on, get back to your work.”

Gu Yizhou: ”Okay, Boss. I’ll go finish up the subsequent PCR procedures.”

Just as he had taken half a step away.

Shen Yu suddenly spoke up with a smile, ”Yizhou, you’re truly outstanding. Jiang He often mentions you when we’re on the phone. He says you’ve been a huge help with the project.”

Gu Yizhou: ”!!!”

He stopped in his tracks, his ears quickly turning red.

”...As I should.” Gu Yizhou muttered these three words, his pace clearly much faster than before as he hurried toward the workbench.

Simple child psychology.

Jiang He turned to glance at Shen Yu, and the two shared a knowing smile.

After leaving the lab, Jiang He took Shen Yu to Affiliated Hospital No. 1.

The moment Meng Shiyu saw her, he started laying on the praise. ”Well now, you must be Sister-in-law! You’re gorgeous, like a movie star! No wonder the boss never pays any attention to other pretty women!”

Shen Yu responded gracefully, ”Hello, you must be Dr. Meng? Jiang He says you’re very sharp and help him out a lot in the department.”

Hearing this, Xiaomeng was even more ecstatic. ”You’re too kind, Sister-in-law! I’m just learning a thing or two from Leader Jiang. Are you here today to...?”

”I’m taking her for a check-up,” Jiang He said. ”Go on, get back to work.”

”Alrighty, you two get to it, Leader! Take care, Sister-in-law!” Xiaomeng tactfully stepped aside to let them pass, watching as they walked away.

Jiang He led Shen Yu to the area outside the outpatient phlebotomy room.

”Sit here.” Jiang He pulled Shen Yu down to sit on a long bench.

”Why the sudden blood test?” Although Shen Yu obediently sat down, she still looked at him with some confusion.

”It’s just a routine physical,” Jiang He’s tone was calm. ”Just a CBC and a biochemical panel. Don’t overthink it.”

Shen Yu trusted Jiang He completely, so hearing him say that, she didn’t ask any more questions and obediently rolled up her sleeve.

Jiang He came over with the blood collection needle himself.

Soon, a small vial of blood was drawn.

Jiang He withdrew the needle and pressed a cotton swab to the puncture site. ”Hold pressure for five minutes.”

Shen Yu obediently pressed the cotton swab with her finger.

Jiang He labeled the blood sample and stood up. ”Stay put right here, don’t move. I’m taking the sample to the lab and I’ll be right back.”

”I know, I know, go on,” Shen Yu nodded, watching Jiang He’s retreating back.

No sooner had Jiang He left than two young female patients, also there for a blood draw, huddled together on a nearby bench and started whispering.

”Hey, did you see that? That male doctor just now was so handsome!”

”I saw, I saw! It’s one thing to be handsome, but the way he drew blood was so gentle, and his aura is just incredible. I just wonder if he’s single.”

”How about... when he comes back, we go ask for his number?”

”You go, you go! I’ll be your moral support.”

The two were egging each other on.

A few minutes later, Jiang He returned from around the corner of the hallway after dropping off the sample.

The two female patients immediately got excited, but also a bit timid.

”He’s back, he’s back! Go on!”

”Agh, I don’t dare! He seems so aloof. It would be so embarrassing if he rejected me...”

Shen Yu, still pressing the cotton swab, heard their entire conversation clearly.

She blinked.

As Jiang He’s official fiancée, a bit of Teacher Shen’s innate mischievousness suddenly surfaced.

She turned her head slightly to look at the two conflicted young women and said, ”Hey, I have a way to get his number. Want to learn?”

The two patients froze, looking at the unreasonably beautiful girl in front of them. They subconsciously nodded. ”Huh? Yes, we do.”

”I’ll teach you. Watch closely.”

Shen Yu stood up and walked toward Jiang He.

The two patients, their faces full of surprise, watched her intently, ready to observe how this beauty planned to hit on the cool, aloof doctor.

Shen Yu walked up to Jiang He and stopped.

She tilted her head up and asked in a deadpan voice, ”Excuse me, Doctor, can you tell me your phone number?”

”Hm?”

Jiang He was taken aback for a second, his face a picture of confusion.

’What in the world... is my fiancée doing?’

’Is this some kind of role-playing game?’

Jiang He thought for a moment and decided to play along. ”I’m not gonna tell you~”

The two patients sitting behind them gasped, their toes curling with second-hand embarrassment.

It’s over. A total crash and burn!

Being that beautiful didn’t help after all. That doctor really is a cold, handsome guy!

Besides, that approach was way too blunt! What was she thinking!

Just when the two thought Shen Yu was about to retreat in disgrace, she spoke again.

”Then can you give me a kiss?”

The two patients behind them were shocked.

Has this woman lost her mind? This isn’t hitting on him, this is fucking public harassment of a doctor! Isn’t she afraid security will come and throw her out?!

However, the aloof doctor standing there didn’t look angry at all.

He looked at Shen Yu, his eyes softening. ”That I can do.”

After speaking, he actually did lean in and kiss Shen Yu on the cheek.

The two female patients: ”?!?!?!?”

——Wait, what? You can do that?

Shen Yu took the opportunity to take Jiang He’s hand. ”Then will you be my boyfriend?”

Jiang He’s gaze was gentle. ”I will.”

Shen Yu immediately followed up, ”Will you marry me?”

Jiang He said firmly, ”I will!”

”Then let’s go.”

Shen Yu took Jiang He’s hand and walked away without looking back.

Leaving the two female patients behind, utterly bewildered.

Just then, Chen Jing happened to walk past, holding some forms.

Seeing the two patients standing dumbly in the middle of the hallway after their blood draw, she couldn’t help but stop, her tone puzzled. ”Ladies, after your blood is drawn you should go to the waiting area and apply pressure. What are you two doing just standing here spaced out?”

One of the patients gave her companion a complicated look, then nudged her sharply with her elbow.

The elbowed patient snapped out of her daze.

She turned to Chen Jing and, on a bizarre impulse, blurted out, ”Miss Nurse, will you give me a kiss and then be my girlfriend?”

Chen Jing stared for a moment, then frowned. ”Do you have a fever?”

The patient sighed. ”Aiya, Miss Nurse, no... I’m not crazy.”

She explained, ”Just now, there was this super handsome doctor here. Then a beautiful patient walked up to him and said exactly that. Not only did the doctor kiss her, he even agreed to marry her, and then she just led him away! We just feel like... this world is so surreal.”

Chen Jing was amused. ”You’re talking about Leader Jiang, aren’t you?”

”Yes, yes! The one from just now! You think it’s outrageous too, right, Miss Nurse?”

”What’s outrageous about it?” Chen Jing rolled her eyes. ”That’s Leader Jiang’s fiancée. The two of them were just messing around. What were you guys thinking?”

The two female patients: ”???”

...Fiancée?

The scene from moments ago replayed in both their minds:

Enthusiastically discussing how to hit on her fiancé right in front of his actual fiancée...

The fiancée walks up, even turning back specifically to say, ”Want to learn? I’ll teach you.”

Damn.

”I’m so done...” the patient who’d wanted to ask for his number sighed, feeling like her life was over.

”I fucking...” The other one covered her face and crouched down in agony. ”Shit, that was so embarrassing! Ugh!! I just want to die!!”

Chen Jing shook her head and walked away, clutching the forms.

Then she couldn’t help but think of something.

She herself seemed to have once considered trying to start something with Jiang He...

’Thank god, thank god I never did anything out of line.’

After seeing Shen Yu, all her unrealistic fantasies vanished in an instant.

’How could she possibly compete with Sister Yu? A girl’s gotta know her limits.’
