I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

Chapter 352: Chapter 238: Teacher Miller, Good Night

He recognized this young man.

For the past two days, whenever professors from any department gathered, they couldn’t go three sentences without bringing up Jiang He.

Professor Yu sat down in the chair opposite Jiang He.

Jiang He sensed someone was there and looked up.

”Professor Yu.”

”Mm, are you researching supercomputer power allocation? Why the sudden jump into this field?”

Jiang He replied, ”Structural analysis of the KRAS mutation target requires a massive number of molecular docking experiments. The computing power available in ordinary domestic labs is nowhere near enough to run them. I’m looking to see if there’s a way to optimize the scheduling algorithm for parallel computing to improve the efficiency of running data on a supercomputing platform.”

Professor Yu was bewildered.

’The early screening project just had a breakthrough. Most people would take a break for a while, right?’

’But this kid... he’s already set his sights on the next target.’

Professor Yu fell silent for a moment, then said:

”Your MPI scheduling node design might run into memory overflow issues when processing large-scale small molecule libraries. I suggest you reference an internal report from last year by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, U.S.A. They used a new cache-layering technique...”

Jiang He’s eyes lit up.

’This wasn’t exactly his area of expertise. With a professor’s help, things would naturally be much more efficient.’

And just like that, the old man and the young man began their discussion in a corner of the library.

The students secretly watching from a distance started whispering among themselves:

”Isn’t that Old Yu from the Bioengineering Department? He’s notoriously strict. He failed half our class last semester.”

”What’s he doing? Is he... discussing something with River God?”

”A discussion? That’s clearly an in-depth exploration! Didn’t you see Old Yu’s attitude? It’s totally different from when he’s yelling at us.”

”River God is just too much. Is he really only in his twenties...?”

「Half an hour later.」

Professor Yu stood up and said:

”Jiang He, if you have any more questions later on, feel free to come find me anytime.”

”Thank you, Professor Yu.”

”Alright, you get back to it. I won’t disturb you any longer. Take care of yourself, don’t work too hard.”

Professor Yu left, feeling satisfied.

Jiang He also felt extremely grateful.

’The professor had come over purely to share his experience, asking for nothing in return.’

’This feeling of being looked after was very comforting.’

’Sure enough, being a student has its perks.’

’You get so much free help from excellent teachers...’

After their conversation, Jiang He’s ideas became much clearer.

’The timeline for the first round of initial molecular docking screening for the KRAS target could hopefully be compressed from three years to under three months...’

「Late at night.」

Jiang He walked out of the library.

The bell signaling the end of class had just rung, and a flood of students carrying books poured out of the academic building.

Jiang He blended into the crowd, heading toward the lab.

As he walked, people passing by were discussing what to eat for a late-night snack, while others complained about how hard calculus was.

Some were also excitedly talking about ”the genius who developed the pancreatic cancer early screening” from the forums.

And Jiang He, who was brushing past them, just walked on in silence.

He reached the lab.

He pushed open the door.

Cai Zhuoqun was busy working with a few team members.

Seeing Jiang He come in, Cai Zhuoqun immediately took off his gloves and walked over. ”B-B-Boss! The task you gave me, to verify Miller’s paper, we, we, we have results!”

Jiang He: ”Go on.”

”According to the parameters in his paper, we ran it three times and couldn’t reproduce the results at all. So, either he hid some key steps, or...”

”Or the data was doctored,” Jiang He said, taking the report.

”Right. That’s a huge taboo in academia. If we publish this replication report, Miller will be utterly disgraced.”

Jiang He nodded and said coolly:

”No rush. Keep working and make sure it’s foolproof. Let’s save this ’big gift’ for Baltimore and deliver it to him in person.”

Cai Zhuoqun swallowed hard, his whole body buzzing with excitement. He nodded emphatically. ”U-U-Understood!”

In Yangcheng, winter nights always fell especially early.

’Good night, Teacher Miller.’
