Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1592: Chapter 500: Leaving the City and a Bloodless Surprise

Moao Calendar Year 136, December 28th, midnight

Dragon Valley Town, above North City Gate

Long Mingyuan, Li Yangtian, and Long Wenhai hovered in mid-air, while beneath them, an army of fifteen thousand marched out systematically through the small north gate.

The main city gate of Dragon Valley Town is on the east side, with smaller gates in the other three directions. As Long Mingyuan had decided to send troops north to aid, naturally, the army would exit through the north gate.

“Yangtian, this northern aid mission is led by you, with Wenhai as your deputy. I will personally lead the Iron Thorn Army and hold the main city. Report any battle developments promptly.”

Hearing this, Li Yangtian frowned slightly, hesitated for a moment, then cupped his hands and said, “Lord, going north to aid, I am enough alone. The town is so important; it is better to keep Wenhai in the city as an assistant.”

His suggestion was not without basis.

In hindsight, although the alliance Great Xia formed two years ago seemed like a trap for the Five Northern Towns, one must admit that in the two years since its formation, as the Nine Towns Territory has integrated and exchanged, not only has Great Xia developed rapidly, but the strength of the Five Northern Towns has also significantly advanced.

For instance, the number of Cold Resistance Level personnel in the Five Towns has increased three to four times compared to two years ago. In Beishuo Town alone, there are seventy thousand Cold Resistance Level troops now.

Cold Resistance Level personnel are secondary; the key is that quite a few have even broken through to the Xianyang Level.

Take Yangqu for example; originally, the only Xianyang Level figures in the entire town were Lord Cao Qianyang and Army Chief Yan Chenzhou. Last September, Yan Chenzhou’s eldest disciple Wu Tianfa broke through, and this May, Cao Qianyang’s son, Town Chief Cao Yuankang, also followed suit. Yangqu suddenly had four Xianyang Level figures.

Dragon Valley is naturally not far behind. Last year, Long Mingyuan’s son, Town Chief Long Wenhai, also broke through, restoring Dragon Valley to its situation four years ago, with three Xianyang Level figures.

Having three Xianyang Levels is decent enough, but it depends on who you compare to.

With war breaking out, the news of Beishuo conspiring with two vassal towns to kidnap Xia Hong’s son had already spread across the Southern Slope Territory.

Of course, Long Mingyuan was already aware of this matter without needing others to spread the news.

The problem was, he didn’t know Great Xia had so many Xianyang Level figures.

A total of 28!

The details of the kidnapping at Xia City had long been circulated. Yang Jian and the vassal towns’ 23 Xianyang Level members went over, and 17 were slain on the spot, while Great Xia deployed 28 Xianyang Level figures in total, along with 12 Beast King Puppets.

What does 28 Xianyang Level mean?

While they may not stand against thousands of troops, if Great Xia were to gather all these people to stir trouble in the town, it would be quite easy.

Xianyang Level can control the sky, and just this ability allows them to do a great deal.

Among the five northern towns, only the Three Northern Towns currently dare to place large armies outside the town to confront the enemy. Why is that?

It’s not only because the three towns have ample Cold Resistance Level troops, but more importantly, these towns have a considerable number of Xianyang Level figures, supported by two vassal towns, so they have no fear of Great Xia causing chaos in the towns.

However, Dragon Valley and Yangqu are completely different.

They only have three to four Xianyang Level figures, and the Cold Resistance Level army, considered their only reliance, could still face major issues if Great Xia truly sent top experts to cause trouble, especially if the town’s defense is slow to react.

At present, Dragon Valley Town has sent 15,000 troops to aid Wuchuan, leaving only 4,000 Cold Resistance Level in the town. Although this includes 1,000 Iron Thorn Army, the number is still too few. If only Long Mingyuan stays, it might be…

“Rest assured!”

Long Mingyuan suddenly interrupted Li Yangtian with a smile, pausing for several breaths, then looked at Li Yangtian with a proud expression and said, “Our Dragon Valley now has more than just three Xianyang Level figures…”

Hearing this, Li Yangtian was momentarily stunned, then quickly realized something, and looked up at Long Mingyuan with a face full of delight and a probing tone, “Lord, could the recent rumor in the city be true?”

Since August, a rumor had quietly spread in Dragon Valley Town saying that the lord’s youngest son Long Wenhong, his eldest nephew Long Wenqing, and his second nephew Long Wenying, all broke through to the Xianyang Level.

Yet these three had not been seen in public since the beginning of the year, causing inevitable speculation.

The rumor was considered false because no one confirmed it, and even Long Mingyuan himself denied it a few months ago. With the frequent movement of personnel among the Nine Towns in recent years, and the blending of many outsiders into major towns, some baseless rumors often surface, so it wasn’t taken seriously.

However, Long Mingyuan’s current words clearly indicated that the rumor was likely true, leading Li Yangtian to ask in this manner.

All three were in the air at the moment, unseen and unheard by those below, so Long Mingyuan did not hide it, nodding and saying, “Indeed, I am unsure who spread that rumor, but Wenhong, Wenqing, and Wenying all indeed broke through to the Xianyang Level successively in the first half of the year.”

Long Mingyuan has three sons, Wenhai, Wenyue, and Wenhong; he also had a brother, Long Mingfeng, who died in the Dajue Temple chaos five years ago. Long Mingfeng had five sons, among whom the eldest, Long Wenqing, and the second, Long Wenying, were the most talented.

Hearing of their breakthroughs, Li Yangtian, now filled with excitement, couldn’t help but look up and ask, “Lord, since Wenhong and the others have broken through, why haven’t they appeared? Are they not in the city?”

Long Mingyuan shook his head and said solemnly, “Great Xia’s ferocity is currently at its peak, and now with the two vassal towns involved, even the Three Northern Towns, each with nearly ten Xianyang Levels, can’t make much happen, let alone our mere six Xianyang Levels in Dragon Valley. Considering this, I have had them hidden in the ancestral home’s rear courtyard, not to appear publicly. If something really goes wrong in the town, they will serve as our trump card.”
