Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1579: Chapter 496: Reluctance and Resolve, Dongchuan Mobilizes Troops

“…Beishuo has already breached the alliance agreement, the Alliance Hierarch has decided to unite the Southern Slope towns to collectively reprimand them. Considering Dragon Valley’s inadequate strength, Lord Long is ordered to dispatch 10,000 troops, sending them all to Qingyang Camp within two days for standby!”

Just as Yangqu received the Alliance Hierarch’s edict, the northwestern Dragon Valley Town nearly received it at the same time.

Above the Lord’s Hall in Dragon Valley Town, Deputy Marshal Murong Chui of the Central Army dropped the edict to the crowd below and left directly with the Divine Martial Army Commander Hong Guang, giving no chance for any response from the Dragon Valley personnel.

Dragon Valley Town’s Lord, Long Mingyuan, the Army Chief Li Yangtian, Town Chief Long Wenhai, and several core executives, looked at the two departing figures above with extremely grim expressions.

“Hmph! Continue the discussions inside.”

Similar to Yangqu, Long Mingyuan and the core executives were also interrupted during their discussions by Murong Chui and Hong Guang. Not granting any face and taking command in front of all the town members, Long Mingyuan was naturally displeased. After the two departed, he snorted coldly and led the core personnel back into the hall.

“Great Xia’s arrogance is at its peak, is Lord Long still hesitating?”

Inside the hall, a middle-aged man in black saw the crowd entering and directly spoke in a deep voice. Seeing Long Mingyuan ignoring him and continuing to walk towards the main seat, the man’s expression darkened slightly and continued, “Lord Long, the Northern Three Towns began deploying seven days ago: Beishuo 70,000, Jin Mountain 60,000, Wuchuan 60,000, making 190,000 troops in total among the Three Towns. Adding to Dragon Valley and Yangqu towns, the Five Towns Alliance Army amounts to 240,000.

Great Xia currently has at most 300,000 troops; the difference is not significant. As long as the Northern Five Towns unite, resisting Great Xia’s military onslaught is not out of question!

Last night, Great Xia severed my uncle Xuankong’s arms, slaughtered nine from Chen Cang and eight from Cai Qiu. Does Lord Long think that the two regions will let it pass?

Chu won’t hide this from Lord Long; before dawn, we learned of Xia army’s large-scale movements. My uncle, as well as Cai Qiu Prince Cai Shiqi, have both sent people back to seek reinforcements. Though the two regions cannot send large armies south currently, Xianyang Level masters will be plentiful.

As long as the Northern Five Towns can unite and add our strong reinforcements, Great Xia’s dream of unifying the Southern Slope is mere delusion…”

Listening to Chu Renjie’s endless arguments, the hesitation on Long Mingyuan’s face gradually faded. Once Chu finished speaking, he turned and looked at the Army Chief Li Yangtian on his left, asking in a deep voice, “Yangtian, what’s your opinion?”

“Fight!”

Li Yangtian directly answered, then said sternly, “Dragon Valley has a century-long foundation, how can we hand it over? Although Great Xia’s forces are strong, united in the Five Towns, we may not fear them, especially with Chen Cang and Cai Qiu’s support!”

Long Mingyuan was not surprised by his answer, then looked towards the core members of Dragon Valley below.

“Fight! Great Xia dreams to absorb us, impossible!”

“Fight! Lord, Dragon Valley stands proudly in Southern Slope for over a hundred years, we won’t be scared by a Great Xia rabble!”

“The Five Towns united make the troop difference with Great Xia not significant; the strong region support can fully compensate, Dragon Valley Town will not bow!”

“Fight! Great Xia is powerful but only one entity, Muyin, Jiangxia, Chui Mountain might serve Xia Hong like dogs, that’s none of our concern. Dragon Valley, never surrender!”

“Dragon Valley shall never surrender!”

……

“Good!”

Long Mingyuan slapped the table and stood up, took a deep breath, clearly having made his decision. His eyes showed a hint of coldness as he said, “Xia Hong wants us to send 10,000 troops, right? Just take this opportunity to gather all the Cold Resistance Level troops within the entire town and form an alliance army.”

“Subordinates will arrange immediately!”

The Army Chief Li Yangtian stood up directly, bowed with hands clasped, and then took several deputies to make arrangements.

“Lord Chu, Dragon Valley henceforth joins the alliance army. I ask Brother Yang what arrangements have been made regarding Great Xia’s offensive?”

From the moment Long Mingyuan made the decision, Chu Renjie was all smiles, hearing the question he nodded and responded with a smile, “Lord Long’s temporary task is to assemble the army and prepare all military necessities. Great Xia has only made troop movements for now; when they take real action, we shall respond accordingly. Also…”

He paused briefly, then continued, “No surprise, Lord Cao of Yangqu should have made his decision too; now that the Five Towns’ Anti-Xia Alliance is formed, it’s crucial to establish priorities. Let Dragon Lord be informed, last night the Three Towns have already decided: the Anti-Xia Alliance Army will be commanded and overseen by Lord Yang Zhun. Is Lord Long agreeable?”

Long Mingyuan did not hesitate at all, and directly nodded.

The Northern Five Towns, Beishuo Town being the strongest, coupled with Beishuo’s unique relationship with Chen Cang, it is fitting for Yang Zhun to lead the alliance.

“Lord, the Treasure Division Building in the city…”

Suddenly, Long Mingyuan’s nephew, the Dragon Valley Chamber of Commerce President Long Wendong, recalled something, raised his head, and addressed Long Mingyuan above.

Everyone in the hall, including Long Mingyuan above, was slightly moved upon hearing the news.

Two years ago, Great Xia established the Treasure Tower under the guise of an alliance in the five northern towns. Now, since they plan to break with Great Xia, theoretically they can openly target the Treasure Tower.

The valuable resources inside the Treasure Tower are abundant…

“Too late!”

Just as Long Mingyuan’s expression showed excitement, ready to give orders, an elder in white at the back of the hall suddenly spoke.

It was Li Zihe, son of Army Chief Li Yangtian, responsible for the town’s defense as Deputy Army Chief.
