Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1590: Chapter 499: What Is Yuwen Dao Waiting For? Taking the Initiative_3

“Lord, it’s precisely because we have so few men that we must fight bravely. Beishuo hasn’t even started fighting, and we’ve already lost the Dongchuan Camp; Jin Mountain fared worse, with the four western territories directly abandoned. Why did the two towns yield so much? It’s because the Xia Army is formidable, and they dare not engage directly.

Yuwen Dao’s Right Route Army divided ten thousand, Luo Yuan’s Central Army divided thirty thousand, forty thousand strong troops converged upon East Valley. Wuchuan has deployed heavy troops to guard it, as the Northern Three Towns cannot stand alone, let alone us, who are even weaker in strength…”

Li Yangtian paused as he spoke, then continued in a deep voice, “Luo Yuan and Yuwen Dao clearly do not take our Dragon Valley seriously. They believe that as long as they capture East Valley, the supply line will be completely opened. If we send troops at this moment, they would never expect it.”

Hearing these words, the expression of contemplation on Long Mingyuan’s face grew more intense.

Judging from the current movement of the four routes of the Xia Army, it’s not difficult to see their intention to open the supply line. As for what Li Yangtian said, that the Great Xia clearly didn’t take Dragon Valley seriously, the reason is simple—

The current territory of the Great Xia includes the three towns of Muyin, Chui Mountain, and Jiangxia.

Although Muyin belongs to the Great Xia’s territory, it only pledged allegiance last year, and Muyin’s strength was already weak, so the town’s treasury wouldn’t be abundant, making it impossible to support the Northern Three Routes of the Xia Army’s operations. Therefore, the supply and logistics of the Great Xia must be transported from Xia City.

And to transport supplies from Xia City northward, the quickest route is to start from Chui Mountain Town, passing through Yangqu, Dragon Valley, and Muyin, and then to the jurisdiction of Wuchuan East Valley. Once supplies reach East Valley, they can be sent northward to Dongchuan Alliance Army of Xia Chuan, or eastward to support Yuwen Dao’s Jinyang Alliance Army, thus completely opening this supply line.

This is the reason why Yuwen Dao and Luo Yuan’s two routes of armies, by dividing forces to press on East Valley, the various towns of the Northern Land can immediately see their intentions.

The most important part of this quickest supply line, of course, is to occupy Wuchuan’s East Valley Camp, but they also need to open up Yangqu and Dragon Valley towns.

Yangqu Town has already been surrounded by forty thousand troops led by Yuan Cheng personally. Li Yangtian, who just returned from Yangqu Town, reported this himself.

Xia Chuan’s Left Army is mainly attacking Beishuo, Yuwen Dao’s Right Route Army is mainly attacking Jin Mountain, Luo Yuan’s Central Army is mainly attacking Wuchuan East Valley, and Yuan Cheng’s rear army is mainly attacking Yangqu Town. In other words, the four routes of the Great Xia Army now all have clear targets, except for Dragon Valley Town, which has not yet been subjected to any threat.

If there is a threat, it would only be the ten thousand troops that Luo Yuan has stationed in Muyin Town, but those ten thousand troops are clearly meant to guard against Dragon Valley and are unlikely to take the initiative to attack.

On one hand, Dragon Valley Town faces no threat, becoming the least pressured among the Five Towns; on the other hand, as Li Yangtian said, the Great Xia clearly does not take Dragon Valley seriously, considering that after resolving Yangqu and Wuchuan, they can easily deal with Dragon Valley.

“Hmph, arrogant!”

Long Mingyuan, after all, is a town lord. Once he realized this, understanding how lightly the Great Xia regards him, his temper flared up, and he couldn’t help but snort coldly, before carefully considering Li Yangtian’s proposal.

To take the initiative, moving south can solve the crisis of Yangqu Town; moving north can join forces with Wuchuan for a pincer attack. Even if they cannot annihilate the three thousand troops of Fushan, they can at least defeat Luo Yuan’s Central Army, delivering a heavy blow to the Great Xia.

The key is that both actions can crush the Great Xia’s hope of opening a supply line.

“19,000 men, have all Cold Resistance Level troops from the town been assembled? Can we gather more troops, or shall we mobilize those at the Earth-digging Realm Limit?”

Li Yangtian’s expression brightened at these words. The fact that Long Mingyuan asked this question clearly indicated he had accepted his proposal and decided to take the initiative, but felt the troops were too few and wanted to gather more.

“Of course, there are quite a few at the Earth-digging Realm Limit. There are a total of over 70,000 in the town, but I suggest not mobilizing them. First, we are heading out to support others, and incorporating these at the Earth-digging Realm Limit into the army will severely slow down the march; second, leaving not a single person in the town is certainly impossible. I believe it is inadvisable to mobilize all 19,000 men, regardless of which side we support, 15,000 is sufficient, leaving 4,000 in the town as a contingency…”

After Li Yangtian’s explanation, Long Mingyuan immediately understood, pondered for a moment, then nodded heavily, looking at him with a hint of gratitude on his face.

“Yangtian, you are indeed thoughtful, I was being foolish!”

What is the greatest wealth of the Northern Five Towns?

It is the five town cities!

I was too complacent, temporarily losing sight, almost forgetting this point.

If all 18,000 of the Cold Resistance Level troops are mobilized, and something happens in the town, the whole Dragon Valley Town would be doomed!

“Since that’s the case, let’s not waste any time, Yangtian, quickly divide 15,000 men from the city’s army, led by you personally, and advance north to threaten Fushan. Wuchuan Town will understand the message immediately. This Lord wants to see how Luo Yuan will respond then…”

Long Mingyuan turned his head to look at the map behind, his gaze slightly cold.

Luo Yuan’s Central Army totals forty thousand, with thirty thousand in Fushan, clearly to attack Wuchuan East Valley Camp, and the remaining ten thousand stationed in the town.

With his fifteen thousand troops advancing toward Fushan, Luo Yuan would face attacks from both front and back. He could either retreat with the thirty thousand troops to defend the town, or let the ten thousand troops in the town come out to fight them. Choosing the former would be slightly better, as it would merely prevent opening the supply line for the Great Xia. If he chose the latter, as long as he and Qin Feng have sufficient coordination, they might even succeed in defeating Luo Yuan’s Central Army.
