Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1581: Chapter 496: Unyielding Resolve and Determination, Dongchuan Mobilizes Troops (Part 3)

With various initiatives, along with Great Xia’s overwhelming productivity and the massive investment of manpower and resources, East River City has completely replaced Beishuo Camp within just two years, becoming the core area of the entire Dongchuan, and its influence has even spread to the surrounding three major districts: Zhongyang, He Valley, and Kuling.

As all nearby village-level camp residents have moved over, East River City is quietly taking on the momentum to replace Beishuo Town, potentially becoming the Southern Slope Territory’s, Extreme North Area’s, top city.

In terms of residency selection, Ice Abyss People prioritize two conditions: safety and resources.

Safety needs no elaboration; East River City is guarded by thirty thousand allies. Initially, it was defended by Alliance Commander Mu Longhe, but in March, Great Xia Minister Xia Chuan personally took over, making it arguably the safest place in the Northern Land;

As for resources, Great Xia’s materials overwhelm the Northern Three Towns, not only offering several times more choices but also providing cheaper prices than the Three Towns; the various regulations enacted in the city are far more equitable than those in the Three Towns, such as only needing to submit twenty percent of hunting proceeds; trade in the city is free, with all transactions based on personal choice; even early land purchase prices are much cheaper than those in the Three Towns…

With these two factors, East River City replacing Beishuo or even the Three Towns to become the core city of the Southern Slope Territory, Extreme North Area, is almost inevitable.

East River City can be divided into two parts: east and west. East City is smaller, occupying about one-third of the entire city, where the Alliance army headquarters, barracks, military supplies depot, Great Xia Eight Ministries, Treasure Tower, and Xia people’s residence are all located; while the larger West City, occupying two-thirds of the city, mainly houses people who moved in from the Northern Land.

During the day, aside from the soldiers on routine patrol, there are only a sparse number of people on the city streets, and most of the shops are closed.

Shoo…

Suddenly, a strong wind swept through the air, and the few pedestrians on the street below immediately looked up, seeing a person clad in armor quickly landing in a section of East City, causing many facial expressions to subtly change.

“Going to Alliance headquarters again.”

“Looks like something big is truly happening!”

“Brother, what’s going on?”

“Since the night before yesterday, Xianyang Level officers have been constantly going in and out of the Alliance barracks, either quickly leaving the city or returning from outside. This has never happened before.”

“What does that count for? You might not know this yet. The night before, the Alliance barracks had a mutiny, reportedly incited by Beishuo’s loyalists. Governor Mu personally led the Law Enforcement Team to suppress the rebellion, killing over a thousand soldiers!”

“A mutiny, how is that possible?”

“Why would I lie to you? My brother-in-law is from Great Xia. I went to East City to have a drink at his house yesterday during the day and saw the Alliance barracks collecting corpses with my own eyes, the ground covered in white cloths, all bloody!”

“Inciting Alliance mutiny, what is Beishuo planning?”

“Something big is definitely happening, with so many Xianyang Levels coming and going, clearly transmitting messages back and forth. I guess Great Xia is going to make a move!”

“If Great Xia makes a move, the Nine Towns will change quickly, just watch!”

………

“The rear army reports that Yangqu’s Cao Qianyang has decided to defect from the alliance and is currently summoning all Cold Resistance Levels back to the town to cooperate with the Northern Three Towns in forming the Anti-Xia Alliance army; Lord Yuan has already led troops into Yangqu;

The central army reports that Long Mingyuan from Dragon Valley has also decided to defect from the alliance. Dragon Valley Town has been sealed off, Cold Resistance Levels have quickly gathered within the town, and military supplies are being prepared. Lord Luo has also led troops into Dragon Valley and let me convey to Minister, he can take Dragon Valley Town within three days.”

In the grand hall of the Alliance headquarters in East River City, Xia Chuan sits at the head position while Alliance Commander Mu Longhe sits at his side, and Alliance leaders are divided on both sides within the hall.

Lin Kai stands in the middle of the hall, enthusiastically reporting the conditions of the Yuan Cheng and Luo Yuan armies.

Upon hearing this, those in the hall had their pupils subtly shift.

At the top, Xia Chuan only maintained his usual expression; he first motioned for Lin Kai to step aside, then stood up, saying to everyone, “It seems Yangqu and Dragon Valley both intend to proceed into darkness without turning back. Since it is so, there is nothing more to say!”

Li Xuanling mentioned all troops would gather within three days, but in reality, all Xia Army were ready even before dawn on the 27th.

Local laborers had started mobilizing long ago, the central army of Luo Yuan backed by Muyin Town, the rear army of Yuan Cheng backed by Chui Mountain Town, so military supply was no issue.

East River and Jinyang, both cities have been strategized by Great Xia for two years now; how could preparations for military resources not be ready in advance?

Certainly, this great battle seems it will last some time, and existing supplies from these two cities alone may find hard to sustain for long.

But once the battle starts, anything is negotiable!

Xia Chuan turned to glance at the full map of the Northern Three Towns behind him, then looked back at Mu Longhe nearby with a deep voice: “Governor Mu, it’s on you to lead ten thousand allies, leave the city at night, capture Dongchuan Camp, then change course west, and take Zhongyang and Linya. You’re permitted to act with discretion.”

“Subordinate obeys!”

Mu Longhe only glanced at the map and immediately understood, nodding heavily.
