Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1584: Chapter 497: Lu Yang’s Schemes, Yang Fa Visits (Part 3)

He realized it when he arrived. With someone as capable as Lu Yang, his father’s ten thousand soldiers naturally cannot be considered the main force. Thinking back, the Minister’s earlier statement allowing his father to act at his discretion ostensibly gave them autonomy, but in reality, it was to have them cooperate with Lu Yang.

Leaving aside familiarity with the terrain and environment, just by having lain low in Beishuo for over nine years, Lu Yang is capable of doing so much more. After the play last August, he has already gained the trust of Beishuo Town. With this trust, he can accomplish even more.

So, this attack on Zhongyang and Linya must absolutely be led by Lu Yang.

It might not just stop at attacking these places; the entire Left Army might have to cooperate with Lu Yang…

“Commander Mu, East Ridge is essential for military logistics, and Zhongyang and Linya must be swiftly captured. Although Beishuo does not understand the significance of East Ridge, since they have decided to go to war with Great Xia, they will certainly not standby while these places fall, so sending reinforcements is inevitable…”

Interrupted by Lu Yang speaking, Mu Qinghe immediately perked up and started listening with keen attention. There are no minor matters in the military, so everything Lu Yang says here, he had to pass on without omission to his father, Mu Longhe.

Lu Yang paused and then continued, “After nine years of strategy, Jingxi is entirely under my control, and cooperating with Governor Mu to capture Zhongyang and Linya is not very difficult. However, since we have decided to act, we must not only focus on these three districts…”

“Brother Lu, are you here? Yang Fa has come to visit!”

Just as Lu Yang was preparing to continue speaking, a sudden voice came from above East Ridge, interrupting him. In the hall, Mu Qinghe’s expression subtly changed upon hearing the words and immediately withdrew his presence.

Lu Yang, however, showed no sign of surprise. He gestured toward the quiet chamber at the back of the hall, nodding to Mu Qinghe.

Mu Qinghe understood and promptly hid in the quiet chamber at the back.

Seeing that he was well hidden, Lu Yang immediately rushed out. Seeing Yang Fa in mid-air surveying the people in his camp with a smile, he quickly cupped his hands and saluted, “Lu Yang greets Lord Town Chief, please quickly come in!”

“After a year away, East Ridge’s strength has grown considerably. It seems my elder brother did not misjudge you: Brother Lu, your talent is extraordinary, and your strategic insight far surpasses that of ordinary people. East Ridge indeed has the makings of a town. I am impressed!”

Yang Fa was genuinely a bit shocked inside.

The strength of East Ridge was becoming harder to comprehend.

He remembered very clearly that when he came last August, East Ridge had just over two thousand Cold Resistance Level troops. For a village-level camp to have this many was already unbelievably extravagant, to the point of invoking some apprehension in him.

Returning more than a year later, with just a brief observation from above, he sensed no fewer than three thousand Cold Resistance Level entities.

The development in the Southern Slope Territory had been rapid, but a village-level camp developing so fearsomely was still startling to him.

But as he entered the hall and looked up at Lu Yang, thinking about how the other’s strength might now rival his own, his mindset stabilized somewhat.

For someone at the Xianyang Level, genuinely wanting to develop a village-level camp is not too difficult. With the Southern Slope towns merging more deeply in recent years and cultivation resources increasing both in quantity and variety, rapid development isn’t too surprising.

Upon inviting Yang Fa into the hall, Lu Yang did not take the main seat but sat facing Yang Fa as a sign of respect. Hearing Yang Fa mention the makings of a town, Lu Yang immediately stood up, waving his hands frantically, and said in panic:

“Lord Town Chief, you flatter me. East Ridge is merely a small hamlet within Beishuo’s domain, please do not mention the makings of a town…”

Noting Lu Yang’s reaction, a flicker appeared in Yang Fa’s eyes, yet he timely showed a satisfied look and said seriously, “Brother Lu, you are not a stranger. The situation is urgent, so I shall be straightforward…”

He paused, then continued, “I told Brother Lu last year that Great Xia would never be satisfied with the status quo, and now it seems to have come true. Just now, the Xia Army in East River City has moved out en masse, with ten thousand elite Xia soldiers charging toward our Beishuo Dongchuan Camp. Great Xia likely intends to act…”

Bang!

Lu Yang jumped up from the chair with a whoosh, his face a mix of shock, anger, and a hint of fear, all blending into incredulity, as he looked at Yang Fa and asked with a trembling voice, “Is what you say true, my lord?”

Yang Fa nodded heavily and said seriously, “Absolutely true. I saw it with my own eyes outside East River City, and spies within the city have reported that Xia Chuan is gathering the Xia Army. Apart from twenty thousand elite Xia soldiers, there are also thirty thousand temporarily recruited Cold Resistance Levels. Xia Chuan is set on destroying Beishuo.”

“Destroy Beishuo? How dare Great Xia, how dare they…”

Lu Yang seemed stunned by the news, but soon a hint of defiance rose in his eyes. Looking up at Yang Fa, he said, “Lord Town Chief, is Beishuo willing to let Great Xia topple us like this? Does the Lord have no strategy?”

Seeing Lu Yang’s reaction, Yang Fa’s eyes suddenly lit up.
