Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1582: Chapter 497: Lu Yang’s Scheme, Yang Fa Pays a Visit

The entire territory of Beishuo Town is divided into seven major districts: Zhongyang, Dongchuan, Bai Mu, Kuling, He Valley, Linya, and Jingxi.

If divided by north and south, Dongchuan, Zhongyang, and Linya should be considered the north; the remaining four are in the south, and Beishuo Town is centrally located between He Valley, Kuling, and Bai Mu in the south.

Linya, as its name suggests, is next to the cliffs of Twin Dragon Mountain, but besides this, the district has another notable feature: it is directly north of the Jingxi district.

To the east of Linya is Zhongyang, and a bit further northeast from there is the Dongchuan district where the allies are stationed.

……

The twelfth year of Great Xia, December 28th, daytime

Beishuo Jingxi District, East Ridge Village, Lord’s Hall

“Lord Lu, the governor received the grand general’s order to lead the allies’ fifth and sixth camps, totaling ten thousand troops, to first attack the Dongchuan Camp, then take the Zhongyang and Linya camps. The governor began the roll call half an hour ago, and right now, the ten thousand troops should have just left East River City. Dongchuan Camp is over sixty li away from East River City and should be reached within an hour at most.”

Lu Yang sat at the head position, below him was Mu Qinghe, the general of the Dongchuan allied fifth camp and commander of the Great Xia Yellow Armor Army, who just arrived ahead of time from East River City.

Two years ago, at the beginning of the allies’ formation, each camp was set with five thousand men. Now Great Xia has a total of sixty thousand allied troops in the Northern Land. For easy distribution, they were divided into two sections in Dongchuan and Jinyang, each with six camps, each section comprising thirty thousand men.

Although Mu Longhe is the East River Governor, ever since Minister Xia Chuan personally came to Beishuo at the beginning of the year, the command of Dongchuan’s thirty thousand allied troops is no longer in his hands.

“Commander Mu, besides your Yellow Armor Army, which other Numbered Armies from my Great Xia are in the fifth and sixth allied camps?”

Upon hearing the military report from Mu Qinghe, Lu Yang did not immediately respond. Instead, he first inquired about the specific situation of the allied fifth and sixth camps.

Mu Qinghe, being the general of the fifth camp, stationed in East River City for a long time, was naturally well-informed about the allies’ situation, and immediately replied, “The fifth camp has two thousand from the Yellow Armor Army, two thousand from the Xiao Mountain Army, and the remaining thousand are from the Northern Five Towns; the sixth camp has only two thousand from the Red Sun Army, and the remaining three thousand also from the Northern Five Towns.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Yang immediately lowered his head and fell into deep thought.

Two years ago, after Great Xia organized the allies, an internal military reform took place, deciding that the entire camp would only set thirty Numbered Armies responsible for external warfare. Previously, there were twenty-one: Cloud Jiao, Long Wu, Dragon Slayer, Tiger Leopard, Xuanwu, Divine Martial, Longyuan, Falcon Hunting, Mountain River, Beizhao, Xiong Wu, Black Arrow, Qing Jiao, East Sun, Fei Peng, Steel Mane, Golden Sword, Golden Eagle, Zhenwu, Ying Wu, Zhaolong.

The nine that were supplemented later, in order, were: Yellow Armor, Red Scale, Red Sun, Tiance, Xiao Mountain, Qinglang, Zhuhuan, Luoyang, Iron Eagle.

The day before yesterday, when Xu Ning and Lin Kai came to East Ridge to report, they had already conveyed Madam Li Xuanling’s deployment to him in detail.

Among Great Xia’s thirty Numbered Armies, currently, the Central Army in Yuan Cheng has five, the Rear Army in Luo Yuan has four, the East Sun, Black Arrow, and Qing Jiao armies are stationed at the Hanqiong Station below East Ridge, totaling twelve;

The remaining eighteen are stationed nine each in Dongchuan and Jinyang cities. Cloud Jiao and Long Wu are eighth-level legions, so the total troop strength of Great Xia’s Numbered Armies in these two places is about 21,000 men.

“Only three Numbered Armies were dispatched, it seems the Minister’s intention is to make me cooperate with your division to quickly capture Zhongyang and Linya, to first establish the connection between Dongchuan and East Ridge for convenient subsequent military supply transfers.”

“Lord Lu, impressive…”

Seeing Lu Yang deduce Xia Chuan’s intent merely from the Numbered Armies’ deployment, Mu Qinghe couldn’t help but give a thumbs up, his face full of admiration.

He looks middle-aged, but he is actually already 91 years old. This year, he broke through to Xianyang Level, restoring his appearance to that of a middle-aged person.

After the Chui Mountain fissure, Mu Qinghe was actually considered part of Great Xia. Having joined over two years ago, he had already gained considerable understanding of the core high-level situation in the camp.

He knew that the Lu Yang in front of him, though only 34 this year, by age alone, he himself was more than enough to be the other man’s grandfather.

But just after Minister Xia Chuan had given his father Mu Longhe this order, he was stumped for a long time without understanding it. It was only after his father sent him to East Ridge to report to Lu Yang, that he thought it through while walking and looking at the map. But who would have thought, Lu Yang guessed it after just one question.

Mu Qinghe repressed his astonishment, continuing: “When Minister Xia Chuan ordered my father, he permitted him to act according to circumstances. I have been pondering why he said that, and upon careful consideration, it must mean for my father to find Lord Lu and cooperate with his intent…”

Once he finished speaking, Mu Qinghe couldn’t hold back his curiosity and opened his mouth to ask again: “Why, Lord Lu, upon hearing only three Numbered Armies being dispatched, were you able to determine that the Minister wanted you to cooperate with us?”

Seeing the curiosity on Mu Qinghe’s face, Lu Yang smiled slightly, pointing directly to the map of Beishuo behind him, indicating Dongchuan, Zhongyang, and Linya in succession, his eyes flashing with a glint, then speaking in a serious tone: “In two years, with Dongchuan City as the base, our Great Xia developed the entire Dongchuan district thoroughly. Beishuo has basically abandoned here. Dongchuan Camp usually only garrisoned a thousand troops, but I received an intelligence last night that those thousand troops have been withdrawn to Zhongyang Camp;

Zhongyang and Linya each station five thousand troops. Directly south of Zhongyang is He Valley, the southeast is Kuling, south of Linya is Jingxi, all three places each have five thousand troops. Within these five areas, the total troop strength of Beishuo combines to be twenty-five thousand.
