Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1612: Chapter 507: Dust Settles, Jingxi Reinforcements (2)

This wasn’t over yet. The massive wave created by the staff wind split to both sides, instantly sweeping away nearly a hundred soldiers, the momentum was terrifying to the extreme.

Even more deadly, once these soldiers were swept away, the Xia Army at the rear immediately filled in to seize the position, then charged in like a sharp knife.

Xiahou Cen was the first to charge in and fill the position. Turning his head, he saw a Beishuo garrison soldier on the flank, whose arm had been crushed by the staff wind, but his expression remained unchanged, still drawing his saber to fend off Xia soldiers. Xiahou Cen’s pupils flashed with coldness as he swung the silver ring saber in his hand, leapt up fiercely, and hacked down towards the soldier’s shoulder.

“Not afraid of pain? Then go die!”

Crack…

The thousand-forged iron armor on that soldier’s body was completely ineffective in front of Xiahou Cen’s saber. As the blade fell, starting from the right shoulder, the soldier was directly cleaved into two halves, his life instantly extinguished.

Slaying this garrison soldier with one blow, Xiahou Cen turned his head to look at the Beishuo garrison soldiers still stubbornly resisting, with a shadow flashing in his pupils.

The Beishuo Town Defense Army was unafraid of pain, which Xiahou Cen only discovered after he led his men to charge through the gate, though he wasn’t surprised by it.

Four years ago, during the Dajue Temple chaos, the lord only took the organs of the three great masters: Vajra, Yan Long, and Wu Sheng. The remaining two great masters, Hei Ming and Ju Yuan, were killed by Yang Jian and Qin Feng respectively.

Great Xia could rely on the organs of the three great masters to replicate the Sunlight, Golden Body, and Soul Separation pills, so naturally, Beishuo could also rely on the organs of Hei Ming Master to replicate the Cold Clearing Pill.

Not fearing pain, this is indeed a big problem!

Watching the casualties among his soldiers increase, Xiahou Cen’s brows twitched violently. He then leapt onto the roof of a nearby dwelling, looking towards the southwest of the camp and seeing a general in light golden armor appear within his line of sight, he immediately tilted his head back and shouted:

“Lord Xiao, Marshal Xiao, faster, the Beishuo garrison has all taken Cold Clearing Pills, not fearing pain, dragging it out too long will only increase casualties for naught!”

“Brothers, pick up the pace. Just some Earth-digging Realm can hold you back, taking so long with just the Central Yang camp, how are we supposed to besiege Beishuo Town?”

Of course, the first to charge into the camp’s center was Xiao Kangcheng, and the general in light golden armor was Xiao Mountain Army Commander Xiao Yuan.

One in midair, the other on the ground, attacked simultaneously. As Xiao Yuan turned his head with a roar, the emotions of the Xiao Mountain Army soldiers surged again, and in an instant, they charged forward dozens of meters.

Unfortunately, at this moment, there were simply too many Beishuo garrison soldiers.

The area around the east gate of the camp was only so large. Tens of thousands gathered together, plunged into disarray by the Xia Army, a chaotic scene without need for much description. The Xiao Mountain Army charged less than a hundred meters forward before being blocked by the crowd again.

“Xiao Mountain Army, hear my command, take the Golden Body Pill, don’t bother with these Earth-digging Realm, focus entirely on wiping out the Beishuo garrison!”

Xiao Yuan finally couldn’t hold back anymore.

When attacking the mountain path entrance, he only had the scouts’ elite taking the Golden Body Pill, not the soldiers. Xiahou Cen and Mu Qinghe’s troops had taken the Golden Body Pill from the start of the frontal assault, presumably fought for too long, with too many garrison soldiers, so casualties were increasing visibly. He couldn’t afford to hold back anymore.

The Xiao Mountain Army almost had no casualties, except for the scouts. The remaining nearly 1900 soldiers simultaneously took the Golden Body Pill, and their morale instantly soared, charging through the Beishuo army formation like raging bulls, with Xiao Yuan in the lead reuniting with Xiahou Cen and Mu Qingyu.

“Retreat!”

The moment the two Xia Army forces merged, Yang Qin, desperate to the extreme, finally let out a soft cry. It wasn’t loud, but Duan Heyang, only three or four meters away from him, happened to hear it.

Duan Heyang instantly felt relieved, without a moment’s hesitation. Using a slice from Mu Qinghe, he suddenly launched into the air, planning to escape.

Of course, Yang Qin, who issued the retreat order, was faster than him.

Yang Qin in the front, Duan Heyang following behind, both sprang into the air, swiftly escaping towards the southeast.

“Where do you think you’re going!”

“Don’t let them get away…”

Unfortunately, the moment the two lifted off, Mu Longhe and Xiao Kangcheng simultaneously shouted, before suddenly launching into the air to chase after them.

“Mu Qinghe, Xiahou Cen, you two lead the army, continue clearing out remaining troops in the camp, and seal off the camp once it’s cleared; not a single person shall escape.”

“Understood!”

“Understood!”

As Mu Longhe ascended, he gave the final orders, then followed Xiao Kangcheng to chase after the escaping Yang Qin and Duan Heyang.

“Lay down your weapons, surrender and you shall not be killed!”

“Lay down your weapons, surrender and you shall not be killed!”

With Yang Ping’s death and Yang Qin and Duan Heyang fleeing haphazardly, the last bit of fighting spirit in the camp’s garrison dissipated, and Mu Qinghe and Xiahou Cen simultaneously called for surrender.

On the battlefield, although people were gradually laying down their weapons and surrendering, Beishuo inevitably had some die-hard loyalists, so the fighting didn’t end.

Of course, apart from annoying the Xia Army, they couldn’t stir up any trouble, having no impact on the bigger picture.

Thus, the battle of Zhongyang, concluded!

“Zhongyang has changed hands…”

“Not just Zhongyang, Linya to the west of Zhongyang, and Jingxi to the southwest have all changed hands; even Baimu in the southeast should be next.”

Mu Qinghe spoke up, picking up where Xiahou Cen left off. Xiahou Cen, Xiao Yuan, and all other gathered generals and officers were visibly shaken by his words.

No wonder Governor Mu took so long to attack Zhongyang Camp!

They looked up at the gradually brightening sky, clearly having figured something out, as the same thought involuntarily emerged in all their minds.

………

“Is that really what Lu Yang said?”

At the same time Zhongyang Camp was breached, in Baimu City, Yang Jian, also noticing the brightening sky, turned to look at his second brother Yang Fa, a faint smile appearing on his face.

Yang Fa nodded heavily, “It was relayed by Gu Tianxiong personally. Lu Yang said, Jingxi is negligible; if the main forces at Beishuo are defeated, not to mention East Ridge, even the few people at Jingxi wouldn’t matter. He also said, a small battlefield’s victory or defeat means nothing to the bigger picture; concentrating forces is necessary to ensure victory against the Xia Army’s main forces…”

He paused slightly, then continued, “Gu Tianxiong accepted his advice. Considering the swiftness of military movements, fearing the Xia Army’s response upon learning the news, they set out stealthily from Jingxi two hours ago, rapidly marching towards Baimu.

Gu Tianxiong, adept in maneuvering armies, came early to me to confess.”

“Stealthily out of Jingxi, how so?”

Yang Jian ignored his brother Yang Fa’s last words entirely. Gu Tianxiong’s father, Gu Yingxuan, was the late minister of their elder brother Yang Zhun, and the Gu family was one of the core families in Beishuo, absolutely trustworthy.

Without the superior’s orders, independently maneuvering ten thousand troops is certainly a crime, but the severity depends on what it’s for. If started a war with the Xia Army recklessly, a win could offset the crime, but a loss would be a capital offense.

In Gu Tianxiong’s case, he merely acted based on analysis of the situation without engaging the Xia Army, so it’s nothing. Given Gu Tianxiong’s standing in his mind, this is nothing.

Hearing his brother Yang Jian’s question, Yang Fa’s eyes lit up, and they exchanged a glance, conveying mutual understanding, a slight smile appearing on their faces.

“Ten thousand men all wore black, their armor packed in bags on their backs. They headed south to Beining Mountain, then circled around from the outskirts of Beining Mountain, now hiding in the southwestern Qingxue Gully.”

Yang Jian quickly stepped over to the giant map on the side wall of the hall, pinpointed the location of Qingxue Gully, and his pupils instantly brightened.

“Qingxue Gully is only 12 kilometers from Baimu City!”

Yang Fa followed in, nodding heavily, “12 kilometers. If ten thousand troops speed up a bit, they could reach near Baimu City in less than three hundred breaths…”

He paused slightly, his face full of eagerness, his tone carrying excitement, “Xia Chuan thinks we have only 25,000 in Baimu. If, during a clash of the armies, this 10,000 of Gu Tianxiong and Lu Yang suddenly appear, catching the Xia Army off guard…”

Hearing this, Yang Jian’s face was likewise full of eagerness, his expression even beginning to show some excitement.

“Possible, definitely possible. Xia Chuan was camping outside Baimu City since yesterday, and now it’s nearly dawn, still not attacking, 25,000 people scared him, so might as well launch a proactive strike…”
